Assalmu Aleykum everyone, I'm so happy to introduce my first iOS Project: Muslim Minds
Muslim Minds is an app designed to foster a deeper spiritual connection with Islam through features like prayer times, Quran reading, supplications and more. Developed over 8 months including planning, design, prototyping and research, this project combines functionality with a purpose-driven approach which I am extremely proud of!
As my first independent project, I aimed to create something impactful rather than a standard app. My goal with Muslim Minds was to build a meaningful tool that helps users engage with their spirituality and connect more deeply with their faith.
Prayer Times: Location-based timetable with customizable prayer notifications
Duas: Categorized Duas with Arabic, transcription, and translations
Qurāan Audioplayer: Seamless recitations with favorites for quick access
Read Qurāan: Full Quran with bookmarks for favorite Surahs and Ayahs
Qibla Compass: Accurate, auto-calibrating Qibla direction finder
Khutba List: Weekly Friday sermons with timely notifications
99 Names of Allah: Learn and memorize Allahās 99 names with meanings
Tasbih Counter: Simple tool to track your remembrance of Allah
Additional Features:
Smart Notifications: Adjust and receive timely reminders for prayer times and daily Verses
Use Hanfai Calculations: Use Hanafi calculations for your prayer times by simply activating it in the app settings
User-Friendly Interface: Enjoy a beautifully designed, simple and clean layout that makes navigation effortless
I've really put my heart into this project and I'm already planning new features for upcoming updates. I'd be more than happy if you would check it out and give it a try. Every feedback and suggestions are highly welcomed as this helps me more to understand user needs so I can improve the user experience continuously.

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to do this, but I've been working in social media marketing for nearly seven years now. I'm currently looking for a new challenge, so if anyone is hiring a social media marketer, please drop me a message. Iād love to join a Muslim-led company and contribute to an organisation that benefits the Muslim ummah.
Assalamu Alaikum,
I'm currently developing aĀ Halal Integrated PlatformĀ aimed at helping our Muslim communities easily find halal products, including food, restaurants, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and shariah-compliant financial services.
I would love to hear your experiences and preferences regarding how you search for these halal options.
Your feedback is invaluable as I aim to create a platform that truly meets the needs of our community.
Please share your thoughts and any features you think would be beneficial!
JazakAllah Khair!
I'm tired of not knowing if our donations are actually reaching those who need them most. Too many of our brothers and sisters are suffering while money gets lost in massive charity machines.
I'm building something to fix this. A platform that'll show us exactly which charities create the most impact per pound. No BS, just clear data.
Got 60 seconds? Need your brain on 3 questions: https://tally.so/r/3x0Ra5
First 100 responses ā one random person gets Ā£50 to donate to any charity they choose. But honestly? This is about something bigger. It's about making sure every pound we give creates real change for people who need it.
Let's make our Sadaqah count.

Assalamualaikum, Iām a Muslim woman based in the UK, and Iāve been learning web development for a couple of years. Iāve built several projects using React and Next.js, and Iām currently seeking my first role in tech.
I would love to connect with other Muslim women in the tech field. While Iāve attended some local tech meet-ups and found them to be welcoming, theyāve mostly been mixed settings, which arenāt always ideal for an abaya-clad woman like myself.
If youāre in a similar situation or already working in tech, please feel free to reach outāIād be delighted to connect and learn from your experiences!
Is there any app similar to pillars but where I can put the times of my local mosque in to send a notification to my phone and my watch on android. Pillars, great, but I can't get it give me times close to the times of my local mosque
Assalamu Alaikum! š
Iām working on a project to help Muslims worldwide move to new cities or countries with more confidence and ease. Moving can be overwhelming, especially when youāre trying to find a welcoming environment, halal food, mosques, and a supportive community.
Iād love to hear your thoughts on a few things:
The goal is to make relocation less stressful and more informed while fostering a sense of community. Iāll keep things simple for now, but your input will directly shape whatās built.
Asalamuilakum Everyone From a long time we had seen western media had courropted our ummah. Many from among us may be thinking To have our own tech ecosystem. Let's start with building our community and open source product. https://discord.gg/fMb4umTT I need feedback of your guys.
I don't like them. Youtube is now flooded with this cheap, low quality content. Just because devs can do something doesn't mean they should. We should be striving to create things of quality.
There's a 50 episode podcast on hadith written by chatgpt - unlistenable.
I don't mean to be negative - but I just feel it devalues the texts.
(Note: I will put a bunch of text below me that I was talking about somewhere. I do not want to spend my time converting these texts into something for this post, so I will post them here unedited.)
I also wonder how many people you encounter who also discuss the same issues as me, but they are Islamophobic, or their intention is to prove why Islam is "evil", "sexist", and so on. It is honestly sad because these Islamophobes are addressing genuine issues in the Muslim community, but their tone makes people like you not want to answer them because they want to make Islam look evil. Language and tone matters a lot, and if one's tone is in bad faith, then it discourages people from answering one's questions.
Hmm, I wonder if there is a software to which I can redirect them so that they can convert their Islamophobic tone into a tone like mine that tries to systematically structure their sentences, like a scientific discussion, so that it becomes more pleasurable to answer questions from people. I honestly wish that there was a way where people could convert their bad faith tone into a much better one so that discussions would be more pleasurable to have.
Hmm, if an Islamophobe addresses genuine problems in Muslim communities, but their tone is absolutely awful and has an Islamophobic intention, how would people like you deal with it? Would you completely dismiss their concerns due to Islamophobic tone, or would you do something different? And what is your opinion about a software that converts Islamophobic tones into something more pleasurable so that you can address problems in Muslim communities without ever having to read tones that make Islam look evil?
Hmm, for example, some subreddits (that I will not mention) contains disbelievers talking negatively about Islam. Some people just want to fulfill their desires, and some people want to destroy Islam. However, there are also people who left Islam because they have been abused by people and imams who spread wrong information about Islamic rulings. All this made a person leave Islam, but they differ from other disbelievers. They have the potential to revert back to Islam if their concerns could be addressed systematically.
Unfortunately, there are problems that the Muslim community faces, and it seems like disbelievers are more likely to point out problems than Muslims themselves. The mission of Muslims should be to fix all problems in Muslim communities, and disbeliever forums have a database of all problems in Muslim communities. The only thing should be to make and use a software that converts the Islamophobic databases into something that scholars can use to fix issues in Muslim communities. Islamophobic tones are language barriers for scholars to fix issues in Muslim communities.
I've seen multiple people posting on copyright issues when trying to make recitations videos & getting copyright notice.
Has anyone found a solution to this yet?

AssalamuAlaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh Brothers and Sisters,
Advise: Please read this at your convenience in a good headspace or save it for later. Jazakallah Khairan
Disclaimer: The views I share here are based on my personal experiences within our Ummahāshaped by Muslims Iāve met, places Iāve visited, and content Iāve absorbed.
The Issue:
Dear Brothers and Sisters, I trust you are all in good health. My name is Mohammad Khalid, and I wish to discuss a serious issue that our generation faces. Some may not recognize its significance now, and it may have consequences in this life, but certainly in the Hereafter. The repercussions will not be confined to individuals alone but will also extend to their guardians, namely their parents.
The issue I'm addressing is one that many of you may have observed in your own surroundings, which is the concept of "Liberalism within Muslims."
Dear Brothers and Sisters, today's generation of Muslims has created a vast "gray area" in their subconscious and conscious minds. They are on the verge of categorizing even the most critical and sincere topics within this realm. They have adopted an approach of "leniency" towards these aspects of Islam, and with each passing day and decision, they continue to expand the boundaries of this attitude
The issues affecting our connect to Islam are multifaceted, including a disconnection from the mosque, peer pressure from both non-Muslims and non-practicing Muslims alike, the absence of devout guardians, etc. However, today I want to address a concern that impacts a crucial aspect of our lives: our Rizq, and major part of it, our finances. A major part affecting our Rizq is our tarnished finances, and our finances are tarnished because it has become almost impossible to keep them 100% pure and one major factor contributing to this is "the lack of convenience."
The inconvenience of locating Ahle Mustahiq (individuals eligible to receive Zakah) for Zakat distribution, the challenge of finding even decent Shariah-compliant investment options, the difficulty of storing money in a Halal institution, contrasted with the ease of opting for fixed deposits, the convenience of investing in a 25% CAGR banking ETF/mutual fund, and the temptation to skip Zakat (Astaghfirullah) due to the lack of time or ease in calculating and then seeking out an Ahle Mustahiq to donate to, especially when dealing with larger sums and the need to find multiple recipients.
My Journey:
Truth be told, as Allah is my witness, this is not how I stumbled upon this issue. Like every idea, it originated from a personal challenge. I'm a 22-year-old male, not sahib-e-nisaab, so my journey didn't begin with Zakat; it was a self-initiated exploration, much like many young adults today discovering the stock market and the critical role of investing in securing one's future and achieving financial freedom. I immediately delved into research. Previously, I held the belief that stocks were exclusively for the wealthy and were haram, but as I gained more knowledge, my perspective shifted. However, as straightforward as it was to enter the market, it was equally challenging to screen for halal stocks in one place, invest in another, and then monitor for changes in Shariah compliance.
Alhamdulillah, I had the opportunity to discuss this with our local imam, who is also a mufti. The insights I received were enlightening; I realized the magnitude of this issue when he mentioned the numerous individuals who approached him with inquiries about stock investments. Even those who initially didnāt believe in this āgray areaā still found themselves making compromises in the pursuit of financial gains.
Now, imagine the number of people who, despite their reservations, are selecting stocks and adding high-return options to their portfolios. Then, the inevitable occurred. Within days and weeks, as I began discussing the markets with my friends, I discovered that some, in their pursuit of returns, were investing in banking and other haram stocks.
One of my own friendsāa bit older than meāwas invested in a major banking stock. When I asked him about it, he said, āSo what? I know itās haram, but Iāll dispose of it later.ā I couldnāt believe my ears. How could someone knowingly invest in something so clearly haram? I realized just how big the problem is, especially among Muslims who justify their actions due to the lack of proper alternatives.
I believe if a red indicator saying āHARAMā had been in front of my friend, it would have made him stop, just like it would for countless others who are unknowingly walking down this path.
There's an ayah from Surah Al-Anfal which I recently heard the tafsir of:
ŁŁŲ§ŲŖŁŁŁŁŁŪ”Ų§ ŁŁŲŖŪ”ŁŁŲ©Ł ŁŁŁŲ§ ŲŖŁŲµŁŁŪ”ŲØŁŁŁŁ Ų§ŁŁŁŲ°ŁŁŪ”ŁŁ ŲøŁŁŁŁ ŁŁŪ”Ų§ Ł ŁŁŪ”ŁŁŁ Ū” Ų®ŁŲ§ŁŲµŁŁŲ©Łā Ū ŁŁŲ§Ų¹Ū”ŁŁŁ ŁŁŪ”Ū¤Ų§ Ų§ŁŁŁŁ Ų§ŁŁŁŁ°ŁŁ Ų“ŁŲÆŁŁŪ”ŲÆŁ Ų§ŁŪ”Ų¹ŁŁŁŲ§ŲØŁā Ł¢Ł„
Tafsir:
Allah warns His believing servants of a Fitnah, trial and test, that encompasses the wicked and those around them. Therefore, such Fitnah will not be restricted to the sinners and evildoers. Rather, it will reach the others if the sins are not stopped and prevented.Ā
May Allah save us from all the fitnahs and help us be among those who guide others out of it. Ameen.
I decided to take action. My mission is to change the fate of my friends and countless other Muslims, and most importantly, my own self, from the wrong path weāre walking.
Having committed myself to this, further investigation and discussions with Muslims I know revealed the magnitude of the issue. It is not confined to the investment sector alone but pervades many aspects of Islamic Finance as a whole.
I am a developer by skills, currently in Bengaluru, a recent grad,
I reject the notion of carrying forward my life by working a good paying tech job for an MNC.
I have resolved to contribute my fair share towards the betterment of the Ummah, utilizing my knowledge, capabilities, and capacity to the fullest. May Allah guide me and those brothers and sisters who will join me, and may He keep us steadfast in guiding the present and future generations of Muslims.
I launched Project Hadiya during the final days of my college, opting out of campus placements because I was determined to pursue this path. After extensive research and discussions with various individuals to understand the gravity of the issue, my confidence in addressing this problem grew.
Development:
I knew it would be difficult to find like-minded developers, especially for a project so closely tied to religion in India. So, I taught myself web and mobile development and began working on the app and website.
The website is complete. It clearly explains the why, the what, and the how of the project. I highly recommend you read it and provide feedback on it, either here or via the Google form on the site.
Regarding the app, while coding, I realized that accessing the services of multiple brokers and Musaffa, the screener, for commercial use requires a significant investment since they are not available otherwise, that I can manage later. Although the frontend is 70% there, the backend development can proceed once I receive validation from this platform, which is the only online space I know where Muslims are united as a community.
Features I plan to implement:
Listed HERE
How You Can Support:
My ask is simple: Please fill out the form on the website. This will help me validate the need for Project Hadiya and understand the wider communityās views.
Iām not asking for financial supportājust your feedback and involvement.
A Message to the mods:
I'll be posting this in the Islamic subreddits that I know of:
r/HalalInvestor, r/IslamicFinance, r/muslimtechnet, r/MuslimLounge, r/islam, r/Muslim, r/indianmuslims
If for some reason it gets deleted or rejected due to my low karma on this platform, Iād appreciate a volunteer to post it there on my behalf.
On a closing note, Iāll leave you with a quote from Steve Jobs:
The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.
I believe by coming together as a community of responsible Muslims, WE can be the people that can guide the new & upcoming generation of Muslims back to our Deen and away from the Munafiqeen.
Jazakallah Khairan***,*** for taking the time to read this,
Iāll provide an update soon, InshaAllah.
Until then,
AssalamuAlaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh
Assalamualaikum, I just started working on a mobile app, it's for everyone not just Muslims but the theme is a good app with islamic moral moderation. If I use an arabic name will non-muslim use it?
Assalamu'alaikum everyone,
Inspired by the Muslim Marriage ISO (In search of) threads, I created a simple directory website for those looking for a spouse.
The basic concept is the same, however you can filter/sort based on your preferences and find people that match your criteria, and if you find someone interesting, you can message them on reddit
You can submit your own profile so others can reach out to you.
You can check it out and add your profile here:Ā https://isoprofiles.com/
You do not need to sign up, you can simply add your Reddit username when you're submitting your profile.
I created this project because It was frustrating using Reddit's interface to interact with ISO threads.
The project isĀ open source and all the data is stored on your local device (which profiles you've seen, which profiles you've saved)
Feedback appreciated, thanks!
Assalamu alaikum. So i understand that this sub mostly consists of programmers and developers. I just wanted to know if any of you are interested in Cybersecurity and playing CTFs. I've been doing some lately and they are really fun.
I've only been doing solo, so I wanted to team up with other brothers. Anyone interested in teaming up or recruiting a member?
Assalamu Alaikum!
Iām working on a project focused on making the job search easier and more aligned with Islamic principles, and Iād love to hear from the community about the specific challenges youāve faced when looking for jobs (if any) or issues with careers as muslims.
Some Questions to Spark Ideas:
Why Iām Asking:
Before building anything, I want to understand the real needs out there and see if a platform focused on halal job listings could help address these issues.
Thanks so much for any input you can provide! Your feedback can help create a resource that truly supports Muslims in finding careers aligned with their values.
EDIT:
Just want to say JazzakAllahu khair to everyone for the discussion!
The feedback and ideas have been so useful I'd love to keep the conversation going insha'Allah!
I've created a short tally form to post updates and more questions and hopefully receive more roasts to help us improve this for all Muslims insha'Allah!
JazzakAllahu khair once again! Looking forward to whats to come bithnillah!
How about a website to promote trade ? Especially from Arab and/or Muslim countries? Is there a platform out there now for this ?
Salam, I have about 100 credits with adobe stock photos. I'm canceling my account with them, but I don't want to waste all these credits. If anyone has some photos they want for a website or thing they're working on dm me.
We have build a Quran app with Telugu translation for users who can understand Telugu. Please go through the app and forward it to the ones who can use it.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alqurankareem.app
https://www.qurani.co.uk/ I've been working on this side project of mine to aid in understanding the words of Allah. With this tool the main aim was to create something that would help increase comprehension and develop a sort of immersion in what was being read.
To aid people with dyslexia or ADHD (not exclusively) I've implemented it in an audiobook format, where the passage of text is read alound, highlighted and the user can follow along. With three different reading layouts; Card, Text and Scroll with accessability in mind I've tried to create something that I believe could benefit the Ummah.
I would really appreciate the feedback and any improvements I could make. I would really like to implement some more features in the future and the intention behind the web app is to always remain FREE, In Shaa Allah.

Assalamu Alaikum! Iām in the early stages of developing an app specifically for Muslim parents that focuses on comprehensive early childhood development, blending Islamic values and teachings with essential baby and toddler health, brain, and well-being guidance. The app will cover stages from pregnancy up to 6 years old, integrating daily activities, challenges, milestones, and Islamic learning.
To make sure this app truly meets the needs of our community, Iād love your input! Could you take a few minutes to fill out a quick survey? Your feedback will be invaluable in shaping this project and ensuring it has the right balance of education, fun, and Islamic values.
What the app will include:
Thank you in advance for helping to make this vision a reality! Your input will truly help us create a resourceful app that serves and enriches the Muslim parenting community.
JazakAllah Khair for your time and support!
Assalamu alikum, posted this in Muslim lounge but just disappeared don't know why anyways,
I wanted to ask my dear bros and sis , what do products do we want to see in the market is catered towards the Muslim audience and something that they would be willing to pay for , since the genocide on Gaza a lot of Muslims are slowly shifting from mainstream to more alternative solutions I was wondering if that can be solely for the Muslim consumer,
Jazakhalul khairan for your reply
