Does anyone know when we’re gonna get motel destino in the US, whether it’s in theaters or streaming?

looks like Mubi's opening a publishing arm of the company, first book to be released next year is "Read Frame Type Film", a look at typography in more experimental and artistic films!
sounds very intriguing, whilst this book doesn't necessarily appeal to me enough to pre-order it, I'm keen to see what else is published :)
Does mubi do a list of christmas related films to watch at christmas time like they do in halloween? I love their film seletion and would be super curious to know what they would select. If not, do you have any independent christmas films recommendations?
i recently subscribed to notebook and was wondering if i would get the notebook tote?
Not sure if they got a new licensing deal right before they were going leaving (indefinitely)
I added some to my wishlist (to get notified when they arrive again) and the orange label is longer on the top left hand side of each film card but still watch able.
Hey, I am interested in seeing this movie, that I see is listed on Mubi.
https://mubi.com/en/us/films/real-estate-2023
However, it seems to be unavailable on US Mubi, so I wondered how can I find which country it may be available on.
If it's not available anywhere, let me know as well.
Thank you!
My theory is that they are gradually transitioning out of being a streaming service and into a film distributor. In other words, more like A24 and less like Netflix. Just think of how their entire marketing focus is towards a select few new films: Priscilla, The Substance, The Fall (restoration), Made in England: The Films of Powell and Pressburger etc.
I think we are going to see them have fewer and fewer classic films in their collection, and instead have only a couple hundred films they own the distribution rights to. I have tracked their collection for the past few months, and find that hundreds of films have left it this year. Further, if you recall, they used to put out one new movie everyday on their service. But now it's at best once a week.
I don't believe it's worth subscribing to anymore and, probably, neither do they. They want to make their money as a distributor (The Substance made $55 mil gross) not as a streamer.
Just what the title says! My birthday is in February and I really want to do a themed party. All my friends know I am obsessed with MUBI and I’ve even won a giveaway from them (if they’re reading this, thank you!)
I have a large format projector at my house so of course a viewing will happen (film suggestions welcome!) but would love to hear some other ideas, or anything that comes to mind when you hear “Mubi party”. Maybe I can do popcorn and a concession stand in my house with some themed drinks (“Andrea Arnold Palmer”, “The Substance”, etc)? I was thinking of getting some disposable film cameras for guests to use also. Any more MUBI-specific ideas?
Hi I was considering mubi go as I've got a decent discount code but I have no idea if any of the cinemas near me even participate in the deal, is there a list of cinemas available somewhere? I'm in the UK midlands for context.
Thanks!
I literally resubscribed just for this but I apparently it only has trailer to play. I thought it was streaming Oct31 onwards on mubi. I never thought mubi has geographic restriction
What is the difference between your favorite character and your favorite acting performance in a film or a tv series? Or is it basically the same? Give me examples please.
Hey, I recently discovered Mubi by browsing Apple TV channels. Is Mubi good? Worth the cash? Should I subscribe through Apple TV or through the Mubi app? This is a recent discovery. I haven’t even tried the trial yet. Just wondering what everybody thinks of it. For context, I like Apple TV. I like some titles on Paramount. Not a big fan of Netflix. It seems like they bang out 10 shows a week without much thought and there is too much crap to browse through just to find something good.
Does anyone know why this is happening?
When Lia and Achi are in Istanbul they meet a Georgian man that seemed to be interested in Lia. So she goes to the bathroom to wear some lipstick but pats the shoulder of a guy on the way there and back. When she comes back the Georgian man is gone and she gets mad at Achi saying he told him something that made him leave? Why does the man leave them there when she came back? Did he leave because she showed too much interest by touching his face, or because she patted the shoulder of a man on the way to the bathroom or he was not interested at all in Lia? Or maybe something else made him leave
I don't know if this feature already exists, but I didn't find it. (post is written by chatgpt as I'm lazy)
What Does It Do?
This bookmarklet automatically hides any movie cards that don’t have a play button, leaving only the ones you can stream right away. No more scrolling through unavailable titles!
javascript:(function() { const movieCards = document.querySelectorAll("li.css-1t2q5wf.e18pxekp0"); movieCards.forEach(movieCard => { const playButton = movieCard.querySelector("svg.css-13o7eu2"); if (!playButton) { movieCard.remove(); } }); console.log("Filtered out movies without a play button."); })();
Ctrl+Shift+B
or check your browser settings).Made the account on Apple TV but it’s under a google email. For sum reason it’s not giving me the option to cancel before they charge?
I am using a Sony Bravia tv and getting this error when loading certain titles (Pricilla for example). Does anyone have an idea of what's going on?
Hi. I am searching for a person who would like to watch together some mubi film and discuss it later. My idea is to create some sort of mini discussion club. I am relatively new to mubi but I love the selection and usually whatever I watch on the platform becomes an enrichment for me. I hope to find some likeminded people who like to discussing films but if not maybe you can recommend me where can I find a platform to talk an exchange thoughts in a small circle of people?
A bit about me: I am an architect and urban planner, one day I would like to make short films which explain architecture to people. Professionally I focus on making cities more resilient in the time of climate change. I always enjoy visual aspects of films, aspects such a videography and scenography can make a basic storytelling a masterpiece for me. My favorite films I’ve seen on MUBI are “Perfect days” and “In the mood for love”. I can speak 4 languages and would like to speak 100 more so watching films from different places of the world is always fascinating for me. I love to get to know new cultures through cinema.
I made an account for the free trial and was going to cancel it, but I put in the wrong email. How can I cancel my subscription now? I can’t log into my account, because I don’t have access to that email.
Hello everyone! I recently signed up for MUBI through a link with a 30-day trial offer. After registering, I tried to watch some films, but the site asked me to pay and subscribe. Unfortunately, while fiddling around, I clicked on Subscribe and was instantly charged the monthly fee via PayPal. How can I request a refund?
Edit: They refunded me after 1 day. They were very kind and also gifted me 60 days of MUBI.
Hi! I got the Mubi subscription for Substance, and I want to keep the subscription. However, as I browse through the selection of films they have to offer, I don't know most of em, except American Psycho, Frances Ha, the Love Witch, and Goodnight mommy. What do you recommend? I'm opened to anything interesting, I guess, but if it helps I'm into Art House, Horror, Action, Drama, Psychological, and films with a good plot twist. Thank you to anyone who answers :)
A lot of the movies on Mubi sound kind of depressing to me. Slow, thoughtful indie movies are not good for my mental health.
Any fun, exciting movies that you recommend? 🍿
There's a flash sale now for $75. Does anyone know if they offer something better or different (eg with Go) on Black Friday?
Mubi sent an email with the next 4 weeks of Mubi Go films (UK). I'm sure Conclave was one of them, but seems like it was dropped for Blitz? What happened?!
I'm a big fan of them telling us the next four weeks of films, so as to plan ahead, it's useful... but not if they then change the film!
Hey! I got an email from a friend that basically said she liked The Substance and that she thinks I’d like it too. After that, the email had a link to watch the movie or others for two whole days for free, but when I click on it, it asks me to start the usual 7 day trial. How can I use the 2 days for free offered?
Hi, I just wanted to know if you could access the whole mubi catalogue on amazon, cos I wanted to watch on my ps5, but the mubi app doesn't exist on it. 🙃 thank you.
I tried to get the flash sale for MUBI, 75 for a year, but it said I'm not eligible. Is this because I have the student subscription? I think the student sub is 10 dollars a month so I'm trying to get that sale for a whole year. Could I cancel my current plan and then immediately try to sign up for the flash sale? The student plan has barred me from any deals they've done for the past year or so.
Any country
I’m in the US, signed up for the free trial to watch The Substance and then looked at Mubi’s selection of movies. Seemed pretty good at first, making the $75/year flash sale seem worthwhile. Started clicking on a variety of movies I was interested in and by and large (I’m estimating 85ish%) they were not actually available. Instead I’d get a message saying “Movie X is not available at this time.” There would then be a recommendation for a different movie, but virtually every one of the recommendations seemed not similar to the original movie in any way, shape or form.
Other than the curated collections for each month, are any movies available on Mubi? Do they rotate movies throughout the year? For example: a number of Hitchcock movies like Psycho and Rear Window are listed as being in Mubi but come with a “not available at this time” message. Are they going to be available in some other month? Does something have to be in a collection to be available?
Thx for any info.
My mother and I have been thinking about buying a yearly subscription for Mubi. Originally we used Netflix, but since I moved away to another country, I couldnt access it anymore, due to me "not being part of the household". I assume they detected that I watched movies with another wifi adress for a long time. Netflix probably does this to prevent the password from being shared with tons of friends, who don't earn them any money. So my question is if it is the same way with Mubi or not. On their website it says that your account be shared with 5 other devices, but it doesn't specify wether they need to be occasionally logged into the same wifi or not.
I need a quick answer, as the 70 euro deal expires soon. Thanks in advance!
