Spartan Stadium

Spartan Stadium made my 79 year old grandfather walk the entire concourse down from the nosebleed section. They did not offer a wheelchair nor allowed us to use the elevator.

I am fuming. I don't even know where to begin. We didn't purchase elevator passes--can't they make an exception for him? We screwed up--we should not have ever purchased tickets up there. But the lack of humanity to make him do that, even after describing that he struggled getting up to the nosebleed, is unforgivable. I just need to vent. This is the angriest I've felt in a long time.

Do we have school off Tuesday 11/5

I know my siblings have school off 11/5 because of election day. Is this the same for MSU?

Transferring Spring 2025

Hello! I am currently a student at OCC and just got accepted into MSU on October 29th. This is my absolute dream and I would love to commit this week but I’m a little weary about housing. It’s a little out of the ordinary to transfer in the middle of the year, and I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience and can offer some insight to what their experience was like. I am especially interested in hearing about housing. Thanks!

Weekend Parking

I’m visiting someone that goes here today, and I know some of the lots are free on weekends but since it’s a game day, will I get ticketed for parking in those same spots. Like outside of Snyder for example? Thanks!

Black Hair Braiding/Unbraiding Services EL?

Hi, I have a friend here at MSU that just started this semester. She's an international student from Africa looking for Braiding/Unbraiding services (specifically for black hair) in the east lansing area. Her hair is very textured and curly. I'm white and also have very short hair so I am not aware what places would be best. She has tried contacting local salons and gotten referrals seemingly to no avail.

If anyone has any suggestions or places that could help please let me know!

Bi-trilingual and polyglot Students. taking 1+ language minors at the same time, what's your experience?

MSU has a lot of language diversity both in alumni and courses, including myself, so what has been your case like whenever you took the language placement test? in cases such as Portuguese taking Spanish, Spanish to Portuguese, Italian and French etc., or English speakers taking very similar languages like Dutch. where you able to skip some levels/ classes? and how easy it was, im seriously considering it as Portuguese only requires 15 credits (like 4 classes)this assuming you know nothing of the language, which is not my case as portugese and Spanish share 90 percent of their vocabulary, and how did you managed to study at the same time? given how different my languages would be except from Spanish and Portuguese, i think i could learn it more efficiently if i practice Chinese from English and Portuguese from Spanish

Housing

I just got moved into a permanent dorm assignment and it’s a triple at Hubbard but on the MSU live on website it only shows that Hubbard has double and single rooms. Does anyone know what the layout will look like?

Temporary reserved parking signs in Stadium lot

A bunch of temporary reserved parking signs have appeared in the stadium lot. They have names attached like “Smith family” or some business name. Are these for Saturday’s game or are they reserved as of this afternoon when they appeared? I don’t really want to get towed.

MKT327

MKT 327 was scheduled for the 3-5 exam option due to night time commitments from 6-10 for major. Problem is signed up for a 3-4:50 in person Tu, Th class. What day during the week are the MKT327 exams held on? If they are Tu, Th, may have to switch to a different section for that class. Unless Harrell holds exams on M, W, or F.

do you still do the dorm trick or treating for kids?

i grew up in lansing, when i was a kid we’d do all of our trick or treating at msu in the dorms. several residence buildings participated and they’d decorate the halls and some would set up their rooms as s mini haunted house and we’d get to go in but usual they gave you the candy like you would a house. it was great because then we weren’t really cold. anyways i’m in college now and i was curious if its still a thing. that’d be adorable if it was. lol

Mahler's Fifth trumpet solo shoutout

My office faces Circle, quite close to the music building(s), and I just want to shout out to the boss who, the other day, absolutely rocked the trumpet solo from the beginning of Mahler's fifth symphony.

I was working on some material for my course, and this end-of-days wind was howling in through the windows, swirling papers around my office in a mini tornado, as the fall leaves swirled outside, and I just heard this majestic trumpet solo. It was all this confluence of weird and eerie and beautiful. Absolutely one of my faves, Mahler is so weird.

you dropped this 👑 and I wanna come to the actual performance!

(sorry this photo was from last week, but it's still pretty
