What is the time frame for being able to get into a house for Fall 2025? I've toured one so far and asked this question but didn't get a definitve answer. How fast do houses fill up? Also, how am I suppose to go to a tour, meal, and and meeting when half of them have them on the same day and only twice a month? I'm just worried by the time I find a house I like and make a decision I'll be out of time to hold a spot because I have no idea what to expect competition-wise.
Also I've searched the depths of msu reddit and only found a bit on recent co-op experiences- if anyone has recent experiences they'd like to share that'd be great!
I am currently at junior status, my three possible roommates are all sophomore, what are the chances we would be eligible for 1855? If one of us gets a selection time and we make a roommate group does that mean all of us are in? just a little confused lol
hi guys! my friend is looking to enroll at state as a first year. would she have to wait until next fall to do so, or is there a way for first years to enroll in the spring?
Yeah so long story short I'm moving from a major where I need calc 1 and chem 141 to one where I don't.
I can't drop calc and chem because it puts me under 12cr.
My advisor says I need to take calc 1 and chem congruently and I was wondering if this is actually true? I'm meeting with a different advisor Monday to deal with the details but I'm curious.
If it matters, I took up to Precalc in highschool and placed into calc before enrolling. Can I drop calc 1 once I swap majors?
Saw it walking out of class and was curious if anyone knows anything, haven't really heard much news or anything going on in Iraq specifically, apart from the whole situation in the region.
Literally the title lol, I'm trying to get a single dorm and I heard applications for those open early.
I’m looking for someone to sublease an apartment at 208 Beal St, close to campus and Brody neighborhood. Rent is $1085 with water and heat included. It’s a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment with a balcony. Please let me know if you are interested!
MSU has eleven unions representing many facets of the community. The organizarion and interdependence of the unions is a major factor in the health of MSU's corporate person.
Have you talked to your union rep recently?
Michigan state has very high out of state tuition, and I live in Florida and through the bright futures scholarships, I would have full tuition paid for at any Florida School. I was wondering if anyone had experience with getting scholarships to help cover tuition. I really want to go to MSU, but financially it does not make sense.
I have a 1400 SAT(retaking it again), 14 APs (all 4s and 5s) a 4.0 GPA, and have worked or done a sport throughout high school. I will not qualify for any need based financial aid, but both my parents are alums of MSU. I also was a resident of Michigan and grew up there, but now have lived in Florida throughout high school, but that does not help with in state qualifications :(
Please let me know if you have experience with gaining a lot of scholarships, Michigan State would be a serious contender for me because I love the atmosphere campus, and the people! I really want to go here but it does not make sense to pay 45k+ in tuition when it is free for me in Florida. Thank you! 💚🤍
I’ve learned all about cells and molecules since essentially the 8th grade but the way the professors in this course have been teaching the material is an ENTIRELY different monster. The material that’s covered in the lectures and ICAs seem WAY more advanced and detailed than the material in the homework/lecture videos. It’s one thing if they were teaching us the advanced material, but no, they pretty much just say have at it with the ICA and stand around. I’m perfectly fine with asking questions but it’s annoying, embarrassing, and frankly a waste of their time if every class I’m asking “I do not understand this subject at all and I need you to explain it to me how a Kindergartner would understand.” Yes they go over the content at the end of class but I just feel hopeless and still don’t understand.
Is anyone else as confused as I am?!? Am I just dumb and not doing this right? I’m in a biology related major so it’s kinda a big deal that I should understand this content. Would love to put together a study group or something bc it’s getting ridiculous and I really don’t want to fail this course.
On Broad’s website they show the range of income from people from broad 2023 graduates and the top is $120,000. Does anyone know any of those people and if so can I dm them?
I want to know what extra curricular stuff they did, their position, their GPA, and whatever advice they would tell freshman who want a job that good straight out of college. Please.
I know life isn’t all about money, but I really want to pay off MSU asap, buy a house, and eventually start a business with a product or service that helps the world.
Hi. I’m currently a high school senior with around a 3.5 gpa and a 1200 SAT score. I took AP classes last year and got a 4 on the 3 exams I took. I’m taking 2 AP classes this year. I’m retaking the SAT soon and will hopefully get at least a little higher. Are my chances good?
I think a while back i wrote a post about water in MSU tasting metallic,
( I always drink from the same water filter in antonly hall)
and to me cold water tasted fine but i couldn't drink or didn't like the taste of room temp water.
i recently noticed that the metallic taste has disappeared or is lower.
( i am doing a test experiment now and comparing MSU water vs bottled water, the earlier has improved significantly)
Thank you for attending my rant
and good night.
Anyone ever have a class with professor Matthew Stoffregen? I’m thinking of taking mth 254H with him but he doesn’t have any ratings on rate my professor and don’t want to get stuck with a bad prof.
Hello, new freshmen at MSU here. I am currently enrolled in’s CSE 232 with prof Nahum, which is hell. He makes the class impossible and I’m planning to drop it and take the class at a community college this summer. Anyone know how I’d go about doing this (getting the credit to transfer) or any good places to take the class. I’m in Troy Michigan which is in Oakland county and near Macomb county. Thanks
Looking to have fun with someone ifykyk. Hmu in DMs. I’m a M
Anyone notice the Conrad's menu changed? I think it is more expensive now. and the JFK is gone :(
What are some groups or clubs where I can learn a language? I’m not interested in a class, I want to physically speak with someone(s) that knows it where I can become conversational (not just learn grammar and vocabulary.) I’ve always liked German and took it in school, but I’m interested in any language. Just want to be able to speak to people and learn about other cultures, etc.
I’ve always wanted to learn a language but never had other people to actually speak it with and the language apps (besides costing money) are more games and entertainment than efficient learning to become conversational.
ICYMI, the village had a power outage at around 8:30 a.m. Since then, I’ve been having a lot of internet issues, like the wifi going in and out and also really low speeds overall. Is it just me or are other people having this problem too?
Asking because I know I have a snowball’s chance in hell in terms of getting the leasing office to fix it if I tell them to, but it might help if other people are complaining too.
Does anyone know the cheapest way to go from msu to umich by train (or bus) and back? If possible could you guys tell me the name and cost of said transportation? Thanks.
I’m not a freshman but I needed my bed raised literally like 5 inches to fit storage underneath. Once the maintenance guys got here they lifted my bed all the way up even though I put in the notes I just wanted it a couple inches up. Now, it’s lofted and it’s not for me, I’m scared lol. So, is there a way I could do it alone or maybe with a friend? I’m not weak either, I could lift a lot but probably not this bed.
Edit: I was able to get an appointment for next week, thank you for your help!

I need an easier class for my schedule next semester. Pettis has pretty good rate my professor reviews but none for this class so I was wondering what this class looks like in terms of workload and if he teaches it good. Obviously its a 300 level so I don't expect it to be insanely easy just something that I wont have to put too much time into.
