There was another post about this around a week ago, but I'd like to know what the newly renovated rooms look like. My two other roommates and I are considering it for next year, but I have heard mixed things about it. I heard that it was just one big box and no dividers for the living room and the sleeping area? Anyone currently living in an Akers triple would you mind messaging me the layout or pictures of tour dorm?

I came as a freshman this fall and unfortunately I can’t afford to come back to the school without taking a gap semester to save up some money. So I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the process of requesting a withdrawal, do I need to reapply for next year fall semester?

I found an apartment for my sophomore year and I don’t have any valid reason to be excused from on campus housing. I emailed saying I have a dust allergy and it would be better for me financially. They asked for a medical record of my dust allergy to which I said it’s not confirmed. They asked for proof of financials and I’m kind of stuck. I really need to be exempt because I already paid for the lease.

Looking for nice spots I can go with friends! Ik campus has lights everywhere so any suggestions around the area would be great:)

Me and a friend are both applying to be an RA, but because the first round of acceptances/rejections come out late January, in case of rejection, we've decided to get a double room in a building near campus together as a fallback, but we're not sure if we want to wait to get a double room until then (since subleasing is annoying) or if we want to get a double room now. Do most apartment buildings run out of double rooms soon, or do we still have two months to wait? Any advice would be appreciated! thank you!

I am posting here because I’m not sure what to do about this situation, and I wanted to know if anyone had experience with something similar or knew how the university Ombudsperson usually handles cases like this.

The situation is complicated because I will fully admit I have not communicated very well due to personal illness, but essentially the professor has completely ignored the syllabus and it has made the class very difficult for me in particular. Quizzes have been randomly given five weeks after they were supposed to in the syllabus, half of our homework assignments were assigned on different weeks with no warning, many of which on completely different timeframes (some due mid week and some end of week), and we were supposed to have eight assignments for our grade and have only had seven. The professor has already had a complaint about them for bringing up upsetting events in world politics and global history (everything from the War in Ukraine to the Holocaust) with no context or reason as well, so there are issues with the professor already. This has made it very difficult for me to get assignments in, in addition to some extreme life circumstances.

For the life circumstances (and where I believe things get murky, because I haven’t handled things perfectly) I have had a really messed up semester where my dad lost his job, requiring me to suddenly work over full time hours that clash with my class schedule in order to pay rent and keep eating, I’ve had to suddenly help my parents sell their house, and there was an incident in my friend group where one of my friends got outed for abuse and another friend of mine had a mental health crisis that I was trying to help with. All of this exacerbated my own mental health issues (which I have documented and have an RCPD form for) and caused me to have a major mental episode and lose track of time for several weeks, and I only realized it was Thanksgiving and finals were coming up the week of Thanksgiving break. I am seeking mental health treatment now, because I’ve realized that this is way more stress than most people are accustomed to dealing with and I should not have to deal with it alone. However, when I reached out to my professor, he brushed me off and said there wasn’t anything he could do about assignments and attendance. This partially makes sense with assignments, but attendance is explicitly covered by my RCPD accommodations that I have already sent.

I don’t know how to handle this situation because if I’d known the syllabus was going to be ignored I would have dropped the class, I already would have had difficulty with that level of inconsistency. I’m planning on speaking to the ombudsperson and my RCPD coordinator, and hell, the professor may still accommodate if I meet with them (which I will, but I doubt it), but I was wondering if anyone had experience with situations like this? Does anyone know how the ombudsperson and university tend to rule in cases like this?

Hi, everyone. I transferred out to art school in 06 to get a Media Arts and Animation degree, a major that wasn't available during my time at MSU. I was interested in returning to MSU to get another undergrad degree to supplement my current one. I've always been heavily interested in Virtual and Augmented Reality development and use and I wanted to pursue that.

I found a few overlapping options like "Game Art and Design" and "Information Science". Both seem to dabble in it. I figured it wouldn't hurt asking around here. Which degree in ComArtSci would be best to pursue this? Anyone here have experience in those courses to give me a solid direction?

I’m looking for someone to take over my lease for my apartment at The Lodges! I live in a four bed, four bath apartment with three other guys and am looking for someone to take over from January-July.

Rent is $864/Month + utilities and is fully furnished, including parking and a shuttle to campus/downtown! Our unit includes an in-unit washer/dryer, and the apartment includes a gym with pools and study rooms.

The three roommates are very down to earth who live pretty quietly and respectfully and love to have a good school life balance. They keep the apartment pretty tidy and are generally incredibly relaxed; they are great company.

First! I would like to acknowledge that there are definitely bigger fish for the University to fry. This is very much a trivial problem but I'm going to talk here anyway.

I think it's really stupid for the health promotions department to discontinue The MSU duck campaign. It's been going strong for over 15 years, becoming a staple for students at MSU. It's a fun way for students to be engaged with an educational resource! Why would you change something that Is already established and successful??

The ducks are fun! They're quirky! The Get into hijinks and shenanigans. I love my duck shirts!! I love the duck merch!! They're silly Little cartoons that have taken over the hearts of Spartans AND Hope students understand how to enjoy College life in a safe and smart way!

Especially in comparison to the new campaign that they're launching. The new campaign looks very canned and disingenuous. If feels like they're " trying too hard" to connect with the student population. The connection was already there!!! Students loved the ducks!!!!

Now they're launching A campaign that will have no heart or meaning to it. It feels like they're just making health promotion corporate. It makes me want to go do drugs out of spite 😂.
