Tom and Eustace. So lame compared to the original cast. I fast forward through the others these days so an hour show is now 15 min for me tops!
At this point i feel Tom shouldn't have to struggle 3 miles through 3 feet of snow to plant Beaver Traps. He should buy pelts and just stay home and work on the finished products or perhaps set the traps and pay someone else to check them and bring them back to him. Montana in winter is no place for an old man, amazing as he is. Slow down Tom, please.
Hey guys, new to the subreddit and actually redit itself.
As the title says I'm looking for some quality clothing. I feel every brand that tries to emulate the warm and classic look of outdoor clothing makes it out of cotton for some hipster to wear to the local coffee shops.
I want some real QUALITY wool shirts, socks, quality pants that will last more than 2 months of hard work. Outter wear that's actually warm and weather resistant. Don't want any of these new fancy light weight shells as as soon as a small branch touches it you have a tear on a $1000 jacket.
I have had some decent stuff from Woolrich but they've seen to go hipster. Otherwise I have found older clothing that's still in good shape that's quality.
Looking for some suggestions on brands or company's that make good durable clothing for the modern mountain man/woodsman/home steader.
Whatcha got??
Hey guys! I hope this is the right sub for this kind of thing. I am writing my thesis on Mountain Men and the way we remember them, specifically the stereotypes we apply to them vs. the reality of their lives. I am looking for some good primary and secondary sources, trying to cobble together why we remember them the way they do, and looking for evidence of the relationships that allowed Mountain men to thrive in their environment. Any help at all would be appreciated. When it's done, I'll put it up here.
I run a blog pertaining to all things history and lately it’s been about mountain men, wool trade blankets, and a diy post on how to make an antler ball starter. My original post was deleted after I got trolled and spammed but I’ve since blocked the redditor who did that anyways here’s the link and thanks for your support! https://frontierhistorydiy.wordpress.com
