Should I get a Tenere 700 as a first bike? 🤔

After days and days looking for my first bike I think I want a Tenere 700. I will exclusively drive on road though. I might go off road sometimes but that’s not my mane focus. I also need to do some mid distance trips (150km) on the highway at least once a week. I have to reckon this is mostly for the look that Im into this bike… I want a secondhand one and I have a budget of 7-8000€. I’m going to use it as an everyday bike. I’d like the opinions of Tenere owners, the pros and cons… I’m also open to alternatives but I want a trail for sure.

Can you also drive 125cc bikes with code 373?

Hi! I went to the municipality to get my code 372 on my drivers license to be able to practice with a 125cc bike. It took nearly a week for it be to done, and now I see that it says "373" next to it. I tried to look up if 373 also covers 372, as you technically need to be older for 373 I think? I mean, I also meet the criteria for 373 but I want to ride a bike, not a tricycle.

I found conflicting info, and also tried to ask ChatGPT, who told me it was allowed, but when I asked him to show me sources he didn't want to and told me to ask FOD Mobiliteit.

So now I'm wondering if I can also just ride a 125cc bike with this, or if I have to go back to the municipality and wait again until I finally get my code...

A1 Rijbewijs

Why so many BMW's?

I heard they are comfortable, but they're expensive and I dislike the asymmetrical headlight. I see mostly GS 1200's...

Buying tips for AM size 50 cc bikes

Hey everyone I am looking for some tips on buying a motorcycle

Initially when i came to Belgium and figured out that theres a alot of widn and rain I dint want to ride seeing it as risky and also very expensive but I really want the feeling of riding atleast occassionally

I recently foudn that i am allowed to ride 50 cc motorcycles as I hold a driver's license B

I checked a few options that included Archives 50 cc scrambler and looked pretty neat to me

I weigh around 100 kgs and 180 cm and i am not looking for anything mainstream as I am short on budget and do not want to invest my time on getting full motorcycle license as I cherish riding slow in cold enjoying the nature than fast on the straights

I just need something with gears and gives me a feel of riding motorcycles as I miss that feeling a lot coming from another country where motor cycles and had a Gixxer 250 had have put on more than a 80 k kms on it so I am pretty experienced and if I find riding here more enjoyable, then I will go for fullfledged licence

What are some suggestions you have on buying such 50 cc bikes and where to look for them and any other general suggestions

ofcourse I will be mindful of the rules regulations of riding and use the right riding gears and such precautions

As they say it dosent matter on what you ride or what is your destination, sometimes all it matters is that you RIDE for the fun of it and enjoy the felling of being moved by 2 wheels

Is it the norm to buy bikes without testing them?

Hi,

As per title, I’m looking to buy my first bike and for now no one wants to make me drive it.

I have encountered:

  1. Dealers saying that test drive is possible only at the very end, just before signing the papers

  2. Dealers refusing it straight away

  3. Privates asking me to deposit 1k€ before testing it

  4. Privates saying that they drive and I stay behind the bike

Is it normal? How am I supposed to spend 6-7-8k if I can’t even try them?

Wanneer klaar voor praktisch examen? (+ gpx Kortessem?)

Collega's, :-)

Thanks!

Suomy helmets

Hi everyone,

My HJC RPHA 11 has started falling apart recently, the quality seems to be lacking. I want to switch brands now and found a Suomy SR-GP. However, I can't seem to find any shops that sells them? Does anyone know a place which has them on stock?

Onduidelijkheid rechtstreeks behalen A2.

Can I ride in EU with an international license?

UPDATED POST: I’m a 19-year-old Finnish citizen, but I have residency in Paraguay primarily for tax reasons. With my Paraguayan residency, I can get a motorcycle license that allows me to ride any size of motorcycle. If I obtain an international driving permit (IDP), could I ride an MT-09 in the EU that is registered and insured in Finland under my mom's name? I will only be in EU for a short time, a maximum of 3 months. I'll have the bike stored in a garage when I'm gone.

If I obtain an international driving permit (IDP), could I theoretically buy an MT-09 in Spain and ride it in the EU, even though I’m 19? I’ll only be “visiting” the EU for a few months and will store the bike in a garage when I’m not there. Note: I have a permanent address in Spain.

Soon to be motorrijder

Hier kort enkele vragen on my mind.

Mvg steven

Advice about indoor storing during winter

Hello people, new rider here with few questions. ( I have a garage, but it does not have heat)

  1. Do you keep the MC covered ?
  2. Is it ok to leave some fuel in the tank ?
  3. Should I disconnect the battery and keep it in a warm room ?
  4. Should I start it every now and then and let it run for a while ?

Thank you !🙏

Eerste motor?

Practicing private terrain exam without a bike?

Hello my dear biker friends,

I had my motorcycle exam recently, but I unfortunately didn't pass the private terrain exam. (put my foot on the ground when my bike stalled at the "slow riding" section.) I called the driving school as soon as possible, but the earliest time to have a few more hours and the exam is mid-January :/

As I don't have a motorcycle yet, I'm not able to practice by myself. I would even have preferred to still practice a bit more before my recent exam, but I didn't really find any options.

Do any of you have tips on what exactly I could do to be able to practice the private terrain exam by myself? The only option I can think of right now, is to try and use my bicycle a bit to try and do some stuff, but this honestly seems a bit laughable as it's not really comparable.

I'm a bit scared that when January finally comes around, it would take some time to re-learn some of the things as there is a lot of time in between.

New Bike

So guys, i’ve sold my beautifull Yamaha R6 from 2018. Now i told my insurance to stop insuring my bike but they told me i needed to send my license plate to them. Is there not a possibility to keep it to use it for my next bike?

2nd question: What bike would you guys recommend? I’ve been looking at a 2022 BMW S1000rr M, a 2021 CBR 1000rrr Sp and a Ducati panigale v4. Any tips or things i should now about any of those?

Thankss!

Ive got few questions about license and moto, let me explain.

  1. Driving license

So basically, im going to turn 21 in November and ive got the driving license for cars since 2 years. I will be aboard during 6 month coming back around april. Do you think i should pass my a2 when i will come back or to wait a bit to do my lesson during summer ?

  1. Moto

Tbh im driving for the « entertainment » (⚠️i am not a crazy driver just a fan of speed and adrenaline .. like you can have in ski or skydiving, im not doing crazy shits when i am not i good condition but what ever what i want to say is i want to start on a 450cc why not a 600cc with the a2 restriction for being in rules and learning properly orrr start with a full 47,5ch

Thank you for your answer Ride safe but have fun ✌️

Toolshop in Gent (for real life karma)

Just want to send a shout-out to Lo-Auto in Gent Antwerpsesteenweg 11a, 9080 Lochristi, Belgium

They have high quality tools at decent prices if you want to buy something quick and don't want to wait dor shipping

The owner speaks good English (but that's pretty much the norm in Flanders) which is always a plus

I'm in no way, shape or form affiliated with them, simply posting because I went there last Saturday
