Hi all, Iām looking to move a lump sum of money into monzo savings since itās better than my high street bank and Iām already set up so itās quite convenient.
The two options are above, and my question is: is the only difference between these two accounts the fact that the ISA account will be subject to a maximum deposit of Ā£20,000 p.a?
In which case would it make the most sense to throw the full Ā£20,000 into the ISA pot and throw the remainder into the other?
Is one pot likely to hold a higher interest rate as rates change?
Thanks all
Hey! I have never had any problems with the Monzo app. About 3 weeks ago I made a new pot and was able to add one of my own photos to the jar. Today I tried to change it to a different one and the app just keeps crashing. I made a new one and the same thing happened so it just has a monzo cover (those work for some reason). I cleared the app cache. There is no update and I have restarted my phone.
I have no idea what to do. I want to use my own photo for it. Please help!
Hey all,
This isnāt a big deal I donāt think, but I noticed that my Monzo ISA daily interest accumulation āInterest youāve earned this monthā amount has not gone up in a few days. Usually when I check it everyday around 5am it changes.
Has this happened to any of you before?
I think Iāll wait a few days before I contact them. Maybe in a few days it will all be there in one shot.
Thanks.
If anyone is on the waitlist an <16 account, I now have some invite links to enable you to skip the line.
Mods: apologises if this is not permitted in the sub, I am happy to remove.
Hello, I just attempted to send someone a link for payment using the Monzo app. However I didn't select the person and just moved me screen a bit and all of a sudden it said something like "success, you've shared this link". So the thing is, I've no idea who I shared this with and it isn't obvious when I look at my favourite messaging apps.
I also can't see it in like recent payments. What happened? Can I view this link again and deactivate it or something?
Hi, as I'm on SSP atm, struggling to keep up with all loans on track, has anyone managed to put loan or flexi account on hold for the time you were on sick leave? I spoke to the team in chat they said I'd have to speak to utility bills first for priority payments to set up payment plans with them, but that's nit something I want to do, I'd prefer pay utilities which would be affordable if I put monzo loans on hold for a bit. Any advice?
I Cant find the answer to this. I've started the switch process away from Monzo. What happens to my ISA, Credit Card and Savings account within Monzo after the switch? I assume I can still access them via the app?
Thanks
Someone in my friendship group made me a trusted contact for their monzo without asking me - weird move. I've asked them to remove me but am wondering if there is a way to do it myself
Edit: adding that I'm not particularly close with this person which is why I felt it was a bit strange not to ask me.
Recently open a Monzo account today, I have been connecting my other bank accounts and credit cards no issues.
However, when it comes to connecting my Amex account (the one I use the most). I have no success.
I have tried things such as : different device, deleting app, checking for update, contacting Amex. Nothing has seemed to work.
Anyone else facing same issue specifically with Amex ? Have you been able to fix it and how so ?
Thanks.
Only recently started using it so only got 64p.
Tried to use my card the other day and it said I must insert it (no notification on the app), I then tried putting it in the reader and it declined before I even put my pin in. I then resorted to Google pay and didnt think much of it. Today I tried to use it again and the machine couldnt even identify my card using contactless and declined again when inserted.
I have ordered a new card, but am confused because ive never had this happen before. My dad thinks its because I keep my card in the back of my phone (I have a case that slides open and holds cards in it, so the cards are pretty close to my NFC reader). Has this happened to anyone else? Dont want to break the new card as well when it comes!
After what feels like months of appeals, I finally got my Monzo card arriving next week! Super excited, any tips or tricks I should know before it arrives?
Anyone have any expirence or advice with using monzo over there? I got a monzo because it's MasterCard, and apparently Amsterdam is phasing out the use of visas.
thanks :)
I think it's a known "issue" I currently have Ā£3000 in credit limit. My credit limit with Amex is close to Ā£30k and my credit scores are WAY above average.
I just wanted the credit limit increase to use it as "spending" money when on a holiday. I've used it and it's a fantastic way to manage my finances in that sense.
However I just got a blunt "computer says no". When queried the lady just suggested I should increase my credit score.
I ultimately told her I'll just get an interest free card from Lloyds.
Now, I don't get my salary paid into Monzo, but I do transfer it and then divide into pots. The current account is always in Ā£0 but 90% of all DD come out of my Monzo.
Is there anything else I can do? I really find it bizarre, but I know it's a fairly common complaint.
been using monzo for years on itunes and recently it told me to use a different card as i didnāt have enough money and deleted the monzo one.
i contacted monzo- after reading apple support, they said āmonzo no longer supports appleā and the next representative replied āyou can add your monzo to appleā
does anyone else have this problem and does anyone know how to fix it. i donāt think i have any card issues that i havenāt paid and if i do how do i check for that.
Probably a bit of a newbie question but are you able to compound invest through monzos stocks and shares ISA?
I currently add a monthly deposit to my medium risk stocks and shares but does taking the investment out and re investing my gains count towards my ISA limit?
Long time lurker of this sub and I thoroughly enjoy the advice given here. Thank you for that, I am hoping to get more control over my monzo account and was wondering if I should upgrade. I really like the idea of a monthly instant access pot at 4.35%.I would like phone , travel and breakdown insurance. I am however scared that if I upgrade I'll lose the BACS payments iv setup to my account , along with my account number changing, which would mean a lot of updating online. Can the community here shed some light on this please ?
Edit: 4.35%
Might seem silly, but is there a way to freeze a flex card? Ideally Iād get rid of it, but I think closing it will affect my credit score? Be good if it could be frozen for a certain amount of time
Hi,
Currently my next Flex payment date is set for 2 November - if I today changed the usual day of my payments to the 31st for example, would this then mean my next Flex payment would be 31 November, or would a payment still happen on the 2nd?
Thanks in advance!
I'm sure many of you, like me, have a bunch of upcoming payments in the next few days.
It would be great if the upcoming payments part of the home Activity list tells you which Pots and how much in total will be used for those payments. Am I missing something?
I know you can go into each Pot and look at "Left to pay" but it'll be nice to have easy access/visibility of this from the Activity section on the home screen.
I'm using the Android app and I'm a Plus subscriber, if that matters.
Choosing Monzo has been one of the most regrettable banking decisions Iāve made. My experience with them has gone far beyond disappointing; itās left me exhausted, financially strained, and with a deep distrust in their claims of customer care and transparency. When my account was frozen unexpectedly, it created an avalanche of issues that ultimately forced me to leave my home in the UK and return to New Zealand, abandoning my life, job opportunities, and stability.
From the moment this began, Monzoās handling has been disgraceful. Not only was my account frozen without warning, but this action blocked access to essential funds, including critical financial support from family for a visa renewal, which led to my overstaying and, ultimately, losing my residency in the UK. At every turn, Monzoās responses were cold, dismissive, and robotic ā standard, scripted responses that lacked any genuine empathy or accountability. They didnāt even provide clarity on why the account was frozen, hiding behind vague āinternal proceduresā rather than offering real assistance or transparency.
Despite the gravity of my situation, Monzo continued to ignore my pleas for support and resolution. I reached out multiple times to avoid escalating this to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS), even offering a reasonable settlement amount to close the matter. Monzo responded with the same templated messages, failing to acknowledge the emotional and financial impact of their actions. Each attempt to engage them was met with yet another copy-paste response, demonstrating a complete lack of responsibility, accountability, or understanding of the distress they had caused.
If youāre considering Monzo, be warned: their customer service is deeply flawed. Theyāve shown no willingness to take accountability, instead hiding behind impersonal procedures that offer no insight or empathy to the customer. And when they do respond to complaints, donāt be surprised if itās another pre-scripted message to deflect responsibility.
Bottom Line: Monzo doesnāt care about the individual customer ā if issues arise, expect silence or scripted, hollow apologies. Their actions have damaged my life profoundly, and I strongly caution others to think twice before trusting Monzo with your money and wellbeing
I recently switched to monzo from Natwest through the Current Account Switch.
I was due a refund into my old Natwest account just after the switch completed, i received a notification from Natwest saying iāve received the refund. However as the account was closed there was no way of accessing the funds. I gave it time however itās now been two months and the funds havenāt moved over.
I contacted Natwest, they assured me no funds were sent to the account and that thereās no way of accessing it as the account is closed, I contacted the merchant who was giving me the refund ( merchant is pandora so theyāre reliable ) who assured me it was successful and no funds have bounced back and finally I contacted Monzo, who if iām being honest have been of no help. Theyāve only told me to contact the merchant which I have numerous times now. Although their guarantee is that during the account switching process youāre āfully coveredā.
Itās now been two months, what do I do in this situation because the funds seem to have magically disappeared??
Any advice would be great :)
As Monzo is getting more and more financial services in their app, becoming a sort of centralised platform for all your finances (Main account, saving, joint, pension, investments, loan, credit card (flex), mortgage, credit scores etc), it would be cool having also a Custodial Wallet like on PayPal or Revolut to store or transfer cryptocurrencies.
I know that crypto is not well seen by everyone, but it doesn't that's not an asset. Blockchain and crypto is still around even if AI took over of the press.
I'm def not saying we should list everything, but maybe some of the major cryptocurrencies like BTC, ETC, SOL, ADA CRO, MATIC, USDT and USDC. Those have a strong presence in the field and are all well established.
Or even a way to just connect the wallet to Monzo like we do with other banks, just to have a general overview.
Hi there, if I withdraw from my investment fund, will I get the rate from that date or will the rate be adjusted to the rate on the day I actually receive the money? Any advice greatly appreciated.
Im with monzo, is there a early halloween payday too with monzo, for example im getting paid on thursday, which is a halloween day, will i get paid a day early for halloween?
Currently got a Monzo loan that Iām half way through paying. Interest rate is high at 10% (I know, should have gone elsewhere)
I have noticed that if I increase the loan by Ā£2200 I can get a rate of 6.2%.
Am I correct in thinking if do this, and then pay the Ā£2200 straight off the loan, i can effectively reduce the interest on the remainder of my loan?
Any downsides of doing this?
Hi, does anybody know whether the travel insurance covers cruises?
Thanks
Switched phones recently from an iPhone XS to an iPhone 13 Pro Max and have been unable to log into the app. When I switched devices it also signed me out of my old device so iāve had no access to my account from my device. I was able to sign in from my mums device so iām unsure what the issue is. Iāve contacted support numerous times but still havenāt been able to resolve the issue.
Everytime I click the magic link and enter my PIN it just doesnāt do anything, and stays on this page
Any advice?
