Here, we celebrate the world of movie knockoffs that shamelessly imitate popular and acclaimed films. Whether you love them or hate them, this is the place to discuss and share your thoughts on these shameless copycats. From mockbusters that attempt to cash in on the success of Hollywood blockbusters, to low-budget films that try to emulate the style of classic movies, we explore the fascinating and often hilarious world of "rip-off cinema"

Was looking around and it seems like all the other studios have gone out of business. Does anyone know of any companies/studios or people(like a director or producer that "specializes" in the genre") besides The Asylum?
Thanks in advance.
Yeah, looking for some of those cheesy, shameless animated flicks. Let's avoid some classics like Ratatoing, I was looking for some really weird and specific ones. Thanks in advance.
Mockbusters are my favorite genre😭
Does anyone know where mockbusters are and/or where usually sold? Pretty sure they be exclusively direct-to-video, but then there's the matter of which stores would call out a mockbuster on sight and trash it. After all, aren't there more than a few quality control red flags?
i only know Ghoulies and Critters are the rip offs, but munchies i think has a monster with a gizmo like voice. and there's gremlin (2017) with no relation to the Joe Dante franchise from Warner Bros.
and anymore did i miss.
Where are some good places to find mockbuster films? I presume that retail is a better bet than online for, well, reasons we all know.
for people who don't know these, here's the subreddits: r/parodies (or r/parody), r/ElsaGate (now closed, the new is r/Kristoffgate), r/crappyoffbrands (r/crappydesigns, r/CrappyGames, and r/shittymobilegameads) (what are counts as mockbuster?)
