MBL.REPAIR | Mobile Device Repair
Whether you are a hobbyist or a tech sitting in the shop. This sub encompasses everything from basic computer, phone & tablet repair, to also those delving into the board level repair and data recovery aspects as well.
We also provide basic getting started guides as well as links to vetted parts suppliers in our sidebar.
Where we believe that as long as the device turns on, the screen is repairable!
Welcome to Mobile Device Repair!
1. No Repair Hunting | Searching This sub is not for people to post spam trying to get more board repair, build your SEO elsewhere. This is a 0 Tolerance ban offence, and will preclude you from being allowed a listing on the vendorlist. Please Visit the VENDORLIST 3.0 BETA and search for a microsoldering / level 2 tech near you. Its that easy! This Applies to ALL REPAIR, not just board repair. Do no offer repair services to ANY USER. This also applies to users looking for repair service, please use our vendorlist.
2. No Parts | Tools | Link Requests We do not allow the requesting of outside links in the sub, To many whole sellers try to use this as a means to use one account to ask the question, and another to post the link. If you need a part of tools, please use our vendorlist website, located at https://vendorlist.mbl.repair
3. No Sharing Schematics , Boardviews or LINKS to them Unfortunately this puts this sub at risk for legal issues and potential shutdown. The companies that people want to share the schematics and such for the most are notorious for take down notices and the like, and since WE as a group do not get to respond to these and only get to react to reddits decisions, its in the best interest of our groups ability to STAY a group, that we do not share these files, or links to them. =( I would have posted a link with a zip years ago otherwise, - TPG
4. No Advertising This includes advertisement from the vendor itself, or posting the names and links of vendors in the community. We cannot tell whos been paid to post what so all its a no go. All vendor stuff is on the vendorlist! Use it!
5. No "is this a good part" Posts. We have seen an uptick in companies using this "trick" to try and gain backlinks and seo boosts from our subreddit, therefore, these posts will be deleted. The proper post would be to ask how to tell the difference in quality levels for this type of part then to use the vendorlist in the sidebar to find a good vendor. All deleted posts will have the domain put on our ban list as well.
6.No Discussion of ICLOUD | FRP BYPASSES | SECURITY BYPASSES Let's be real, iCloud and Google Locked are 98% stolen. Same goes for devices who need imei cleaning. Generally, these phones are financed. So that means to clean them would be like vin switching on stolen cars. /r/mobilerepair does not endorse any type of theft or fraud for any reason.
7. No Discussion of IMEI CLEANING IMEI Cleaning is actual against US Federal law and probably many more countries. Keep it out of here. 0 Tolerance Ban
8. Don't be a Jerk Be cool with one another.
9.No URL Shoteners Do not use URL shorteners, these generally disguise malware or advertisements.
10. Fight for the right to repair, and support the community. This sub is 100% Pro Right to Repair, Don't come in here spouting corporate idiocy about only that company being the only one who should repair a device. We exist only because we are the opposite of that.

Learning to use google is paramount in board-level diagnosis. Google is the glue that holds BLD together. If you don't learn to search appropriately by keyword vs a direct question. You will never progress as a tech.
Not every schematic // boardview exists. We all hit the same dead ends as well if it just doesn't exist. Do not request schematics in any post.

I have an old ipod from when i was a kid, Im pretty sure it’s a 4th gen. It’s shattered and has not turned on since the night it was shattered, which was years ago. I’m wondering if it’s at all possible for it to be fixed and get it to turn on. It has photos on there that’d I very much wish I could get back but if I know they’re lost for sure i’ll be able to finally let this device go.
Hello, I just started phone repairs, I managed to change screens, replace pieces etc.
But I still fail when I want to remove the battery. I carefully pull the adhesive from the battery but it always broke and after that I couldn't get it (it went behind the battery).
I saw online that I could use isopropyl alcohol but I'm scared it will damaged the battery or cause an explosion.
Do you have any tips to success this task? I'll take everything (recommandations, videos etc.).
i'm fixing my bro's ipad (6th gen) right now and one of the LCD screws won't come out. i think the screw isn't fitting for the screwdriver, maybe a stripped screw. whilst doing that though, i decided to press the sleep/wake button and it won't turn on anymore :( i had removed the screw for the battery when i pressed the sleep/wake button, but even after putting it back on, still won't turn on. i fear i just broke my lil bro's iPad :(
Got this older iPhone 6 and wanted to try it but the first day it ends up boot looping, after I opened it up and saw nothing wrong but the battery was a little flat and was a third party one. But after putting back apart it stops turning on . But today after fidgeting with it and inspecting more inside like before, it starts to boot looping and turn on again. I only an own a Chromebook with no iTunes. Any luck?
I was trying to open ZXW and i got this message, does anybody know what to do? I already downloaded the lastest version of it and i stil face the same issue.
We changed the battery in it, kept the BMS and only changed the cell. After doing the repair the tablet shows it is charging even when it is not plugged in and drains quickly. There was a problem with the charging port (loose contacts) but after repaired the problem still persists. Any solutions for this?
Asked around my local and was quoted $300 for the repair of the circuit board. Seems high but idk. Is that fair for this model?
Do other shops experience this around this time of year? Or am I having a bad streak of customers?
Greetings, My Z Flip 3 5g receives no service most of the time, in ocassions it may receive more service and even full bars when close to a cell tower but very slow 5g speeds, up to 0.03 speeds. The signal strength is almost always -113 dBm 0 asu. The phone does read the Sim Card and has a clean IMEI. What could the issue be? I have already factory reset the phone and reflashed firmware but issue persists. It’s not a SIM card issue since the phone doesn’t read any other SIM card and the SIM card works on other phones
Hello!
I transferred my iPhone's internals into a new back frame yesterday because of a broken back glass. It was working for a good 30 minutes, when I wanted to seal it with the adhesive after testing it, it didn't turn back on any more. Today morning I've managed to get it to show the boot screen a couple of times for a few seconds. When I plugged into power, it was boot-looping. I checked all the flex cable connections, everything seams to be seated properly. Any tips / advice on how I can get it to work again? I would really appreciate some advice!

"Hi, I have a problem with my phone. When my phone is at 100% battery and it drops to 38%, it shuts off and shows that the battery is dead at 0%. My question is: is there any way to fix this, or is the battery completely unusable, and I need to replace it?"
This has been happening to me for a long time, my iPhone 6 would turn on and off on the Apple device and when I disconnected it, it would automatically turn off. I tried to put it on my PC and it simply won't charge and stays on the low battery screen. Please help me.
Hello, my father purchased an iPhone 15 from a local thrift store here in Canada. He paid $299 as he thought he was getting a deal. He was told that it turns on. However, It does but the screen is broken and I've come to learn that it has FMI ON. The thrift store is refusing to accept the return. Trying to fix the situation as best as I can. I ran an IMEI and serial search from sickw, ime24, 3utools, etc
It shows that the serial number/imei is clean
FMI is ON
Icloud status - CLEAN or OFF (3utools)
Before wasting anymore money on trying to replace the screen. Would the activation lock be on even though Icloud is off but FMI is ON?
Hey👋, I had a question, I'm currently repairing an iphone and I'm wondering how I'm going to properly reseal it.
I tried to reseal it with the adhesive that came with a screen. I think it's good for water resistance, but in my case, some elements didn't stick well to the adhesive (even though it's been under several dictionaries).
So either there is glue like B7000, but if there's a problem, will it be possible to remove the screen again with heat ? Also, glue doesn't insulate in the same way as adhesive.
But I have the impression that the adhesive doesn't stick well, and the problem with adhesive is that it's disposable.
What do you think ? 😀
I have an ipad mini 6, screen broke. I was wondering if I can take a screen from antoher scrap ipad mini 6 and swap it out. I know apple isnt to happy with those type of things with iphones. but was wondering if it was the same with ipads.
Does anyone have expieirnce doing that with an ipad mini 6?

iPad 7 A2200 (Wi-Fi/Cellular) Boot loop - new battery doesn't help
I have left iPad on charger overnight but no help
I connected the port to a USB multimeter tester
It would start booting up and showed about 1.7-1.8A then drops down to zero or close to (0.06A)
Then tested new battery, no change
I have unplugged LCD from board and connected to the USB Multimeter tester, shows it is drawing 1.7A consistently without dropping back down to zero/near zero
I tested with an LCD I know is working and issue is still present
Any ideas?
Hello, Can anyone give me more information about JCID Repair fitting to get the serial number back from the screen of the iPhone. I don't have the original screen, but apparently you can get it back with the iPhone connected with this program. Can you request this once for a fee? Thanks in advance
Got a few new replacement pieces for my old iphone xr, phones running well, launched the camera app and flipped to thefront camera and all it does is just freeze and then the app crashes, not sure why.
Hello I got an absolute deal and brought an iPhone SE 2022 with one small fault. The home button does not work at all. My question is if I replace the home button with an OEM button will it keep Touch ID? I’m using iOS 18.1 and I’m curious 🧐
So basically one day my phone screen randomly went black and won’t turn on no matter how many times I restart it. But when I charge the phone it still makes the noise so I think it still works. I’m planning on replacing the screen myself but I don’t want to get a new screen for nothing cause idk if the problem is only the screen or if it went black because of another issue
I've been working on iPhones for the past 6 years, but haven't touched them for roughly 2 years. I've never seen this before. Is this a thing now, for batteries to have magnets embedded in them or is this some weird aftermarket thing?
A customer has brought in a oppo reno 7 from Mexico and is needing a screen replacement I try to look up the part but I only see Reno 7 5G screens anyone know if they will work on the Mexico 4G version
How do you guys go about folding new cables like the charging port in iPhone 15. It seems in this phone the connector has a pretty extreme fold where it comes up from that fake sim card reader placeholder thing up to the motherboard and wont stay connected unless you immediately put the retaining plate on it.
I have one iPhone 12 in perfectly fine condition just the FaceID damaged due to moisture. Also have another iPhone 12 with FaceID and everything working just carrier locked. So want to transfer working face-id, truedepth from the working one to the original one.
I tried transferring both Display and Camera (including Truedepth) from one to another but it shows issue in settings app and can't use the face id.
Any way to fix it?? QIANLI or any tool to do the same?
Been to a mobile repair shop but didn't get any help.
