  • 3. No Sharing Schematics , Boardviews or LINKS to them Unfortunately this puts this sub at risk for legal issues and potential shutdown. The companies that people want to share the schematics and such for the most are notorious for take down notices and the like, and since WE as a group do not get to respond to these and only get to react to reddits decisions, its in the best interest of our groups ability to STAY a group, that we do not share these files, or links to them. =( I would have posted a link with a zip years ago otherwise, - TPG

The proper post would be to ask how to tell the difference in quality levels for this type of part then to use the vendorlist in the sidebar to find a good vendor. All deleted posts will have the domain put on our ban list as well.

  • 6.No Discussion of ICLOUD | FRP BYPASSES | SECURITY BYPASSES Let's be real, iCloud and Google Locked are 98% stolen. Same goes for devices who need imei cleaning. Generally, these phones are financed. So that means to clean them would be like vin switching on stolen cars. /r/mobilerepair does not endorse any type of theft or fraud for any reason.

  • 7. No Discussion of IMEI CLEANING IMEI Cleaning is actual against US Federal law and probably many more countries. Keep it out of here. 0 Tolerance Ban

  • 8. Don't be a Jerk Be cool with one another.

  • 9.No URL Shoteners Do not use URL shorteners, these generally disguise malware or advertisements.

  • 10. Fight for the right to repair, and support the community. This sub is 100% Pro Right to Repair, Don't come in here spouting corporate idiocy about only that company being the only one who should repair a device. We exist only because we are the opposite of that.

First time changing a screen.

Welp. I was so proud of myself.

Original screen of the Oneplus 8 of the wife broke due to collision.

Got some replacement from Aliexpress (yeah, I know, there lies my l mistake). Followed instructions to change the screen, everything went smoothly. Even used my 3D printer to heat the glue, and crafted some tool to open the phone. Thought I did a nice job, screen was functionning perfectly.

Put the phone to charge. Come back half an hour later. Screen broke while charging.

Last time I'm attempting this kind of shenanigans for a while.

LCD flex cable iPad 8

Has any soldered a lcd flex connector cable back on to the lcd screen that works. On my iPad 8 lcd screen this cable came off the back of the lcd screen and wondering how much it would cost to get it soldered back on to the lcd or is it worth just buying a new lcd screen.

Water damaged Pixel 7 Pro

Few months ago water somehow managed to get into my pixel 7 pro while cycling in the rain, then it died overnight. Phone shop told me it can't be fixed after trying a chemical wash (i didnt watch them do it, can't confirm they actually did it).

Fastforward to few moments ago I tried using battery share on my new pixel 7 on the dead p7pro, and it shows sharing battery on my pixel 7, but unresponsive screen on the p7pro.

What does that mean? Does it still have a chance of being fixed?

Is this battery still safe to use?

When I was removing the back glass from an iPhone 12 Pro, I accidentally did this. The device is still working after all. Did I accidentally break it?

Question: Iphone 12 Pro PP_VDD_BOOST 45 Ohm. What does it mean?

As the title says, I have an iPhone 12 pro and it doesn't start.

IPhone 12 Pro BOOST IC

It starts only with the top and bottom board soldered together.

If I try prompt to boot on the Power supply I can see 0.1-0.2 amphere - without turn on the power button.

So this leads me to measure the VDD Main, VDD_ battery and VDD_ boost.

All lines are OK except VDD_BOOST.

So I measure the line and what comes out was 45 ohms.

So after that, I desolder the boost IC without success. Value still the same.

Appreciate help!

Charging Port Boot Loop Advice

So, I my iPhone X had been going on a boot loop and I eventually figured out it was the charging port after opening my phone up. My phone now boots up like normal but after 3-5 minutes, shuts off and restarts with the charging port flex connector disconnected.

I'm planning on backing up in bits and pieces slowly over the next few days but can anyone tell me if this is dangerous? Any chance it will irreparably damage the motherboard if I continue as is? I plan on replacing the flex cable from iFixit as soon as I finish backing up.

Thanks!

Edit: By dangerous, I meant keeping the phone on and having it restart every 3-5 minutes with the flex cable disconnected. Should I stop? Also, is it possible for debris to cause the boot loop on the charging flex cable?

Factory reset phone without wifi

I recently broke my iPhone 13, and wifi, data, bluetooth, etc has permanently been destroyed. Aside from that, the phone works perfectly fine, but the back is entirely cracked. My carrier said they will allow for this phone to be traded in as long as I can factory reset it. The issue is, I can't figure out a way to factory reset it without wifi. Any tips?

iPhone 16 keeps getting kernal panic.

Since the release of the iPhone 16, there have been frequent reports of the device restarting and powering off. After investigating, I found that it has been reported particularly seriously in the Philippines and South Korea.

But since the iPhone 16 that bought in the US is probably fine, I suspect that there may have been a problem in the manufacturing process. It is so depressing to have to suffer from panic full every day.

Kernel panics are still happening in 18.1 and even in 18.2 Beta 2, kernel panics are still happening. I'd like to know what the status of your iPhone 16 are. I wonder if it's just us who's out there.

phone has water damage i think

ill probs be able to send a vid or something in a bit, but story is i took a shower last night, when taking my phone i didnt have my hands completely dry getting out, i have a crack on my screen. Thing is, I wiped it off and ignored it. I woke up to see my phone screen not working, first i thought it didnt charge, but after putting my headphones on i realized music was still playing when i pressed play from my headphones indicating its on. After that I tried force restarting the phone and it didnt work, so i brought it to a repair shop. They told me that it was the motherboard and it would take 150 to replace. I do not think that is the issue and im pretty sure he was just trying to make money off that (i could be wrong but it just didnt seem like it was that, if it turned on i would assume its just the screen.) anyways after that when i was walking around my alarm went off on the phone, i went to press the volume button to turn it off just to see that the phone's screen was showing, i swiped around and it had like a fuzzy tone to it but turned back to normal after a minute, thinking it was over i put my phone in my pocket. After that i took it out again, just to see that it wasnt working again, same issue, I'm thinking maybe putting it over hot air might fix it and will try later, but i thought it would be good to ask around here for something, as i found out in a different subreddit, i am incredibly stupid and i suck at giving explanations, so if yall need any info please ask, sorry for bothering and sorry for being bad at explaining, putting lv 0 flair since i dont have a clue where to start

How are shops handling phone calls easily?

Is there anything out there to screen calls easier? I get 20-60 calls a day and 50% of them are robots/people trying to sell me something/ no one is there. Definitely frustrating and wastes a lot of my time for real customers.

iPhone 13 - Sudden No Service

as the title suggests, i've got a 13 that suddenly had no sim service. It was working throughout the morning and then suddenly just gave in. when i went into mobile data to inspect further, i was shown the image below. Even my technician who i do repairs with told me he had never seen this issue before. I have tried the following

  • force restart
  • use that sim in another device and use another tim in this device. the sim is not the issue
  • transferred the number to an eSim. that was done successfully. once i tried scanning the QR code for the esim, it was loading forever. decided to scan it on an S21 Ultra, it worked within like a minute.
  • airplane mode on and off several times throughout the day, no luck.

UPDATE: so a very weird occurrence. after writing this post and pulling out a lot of hair, i just left the phone for well over 24h. was about to backup and restore until i went into settings to check something, can’t remember what but it’s like something was trying to stop me. i then saw it said “no sim”, which was not there when i had the issue. seeing that the owners sim was now an eSim, i put one of my physical ones in and it worked! i heavily suspect it’s a heating issue and mentioned that to the owner. luckily his wife was there and she mentioned something along the lines of “i told you, it’s that charger in the car”.

my new discovery is that the esim option is no longer to be found in settings at all. any idea as to why? but thank you to everyone who has responded, your feedback and kindness does not go unnoticed

Phone Won’t Turn On After Repair – Is It Completely Dead?

Hi, I was repairing my Samsung Galaxy A51 and made a mistake while reconnecting the flex cables. I accidentally flipped the cables (connected the mainboard to the bottom board and the subboard to the motherboard). When I plugged it into the charger, the phone started vibrating, but the screen didn’t display anything.

After realizing the mistake, I corrected the flex cable connections. However, now the phone doesn’t turn on at all. I’ve tried holding the power button, using a different charger, and checking the battery, but there’s no response.

Is there still hope, or have I caused permanent damage? Could this be a motherboard issue, or might something else be salvageable?

Xiaomi Mi 10t Pro repair(need help)

Need help with repairing a Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro!

I received a Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro for a screen replacement. After replacing the screen, the cameras stopped working. I ordered new cameras and replaced them, but the same error persisted. After some research, I found out that the chip might have failed.

Things got worse: when I reinstalled the old camera, the phone stopped turning on entirely. On the power station, it shows 5V and 0.9A, but the current is unstable and cuts off every second.

There is very important information on the phone that I need to extract by any means possible. If anyone has encountered a similar issue or knows how to recover the phone to access the data, please let me know.

Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
