A subreddit for everything related to SMALL single-board computers. We don't have a strict definition of "mini PC", but a simple rule of thumb is:
Size: A mini PC refers to a compact, small-form-factor computer that offers many of the perks of a traditional PC but in a much smaller size. The smaller the better but it should be ultra portable.
Power Use: Mini PCs are usually equipped with high-end laptop components or a custom (SBC) single board computer, and therefore use much less power than a regular desktop PC.

I want to get a mini pc and I prefer windows since all my apps are on windows. But the Mac Mini looks very tempting. The value seems unreal. Are there any other mini pcs on the market with that kind of value?
I'm considering trying to build a mini-pc that's VR capable, but I actually haven't built a PC before so I don't know where to start.
I am looking for a mini PC that has at least the horse power of an 7th gen i5 (but the more the better the 7th gen i5 being just the bottom line of acceptable performance)
vPro (or any other out of band remote management solution)
and at least 5gbps connectivity (e.g 2x2.5g ports or 1x10g port again the more ports or total bandwidth the better)
Preferably also a slot for a low profile PCIe card but that's not mandatory.
and obviously I want it mini but size isnt such an issue (but preferred to be as small as possible but e.g those mid size HP elitedesk 800s are fine too sizewise ) but what I really want is really low idle consumption and low consumption when operating on 50% or less load.
Is there something that has all these creteria ?
Oh it should cost less than 800 euro lol :P
Hi all,
I've never owned a pc before, Chromebooks only basically, and a very old MacBook once.
Just bought a refurbished HP
What do I do to start it up, after hitting power of course?
I've seen videos saying turn it on and go through the windows set up, other videos say I need to boot windows from a USB...
What steps do I need to take to update drivers and everything?
What's the A-Z I'm done and my computer is ready to be used?
Any direction would be appreciated.
Hello! I’m new to Reddit but I wanted to get on and ask for some advice. I’m a casual gamer in my spare time, I have a gaming laptop but it’s about 6 years old now and struggling to keep up with things like modded Minecraft. I was looking into mini pc’s and then just getting a second monitor (I have one already) because I like the dual screen setup. I know that I want at least 500 GB of storage and 16GB of RAM, but I’m not sure about anything else. Additionally, my dad recommended I get one with its one dedicated graphics card. But I have no idea how to tell if what I’m looking at has that, so if anyone has any suggestions I’d love to hear them! :)
Hey all, I am thinking about https://www.gmktec.com/products/amd-ryzen-7-8845hs-mini-pc-nucbox-k8-plus to replace my old big pc.
Seems this one has not super fresh cpu, but looks pretty good, and it has oculink, so I can use egpu later.
Any ideas on this, worth to get this one?
Did Acemagic launch their Black Friday deals? I saw some discounts on their official website. Are the discounted prices fair?
If you fancy the cut of the PN53's gib after reading this review but have trouble sourcing one, don't worry; the Geekom AS6 is exactly the same product assembled and distributed by Chinese OEM Geekom in a deal with Asus.
I see a bunch of mini pcs with two ethernet ports (like the beelink EQR6). Whats the point of having 2?
Hello,
I am looking to upgrade several Beelink SEi8 i5-8279U to something with some newer graphics support. If they can consume less power than my current model when idle, even better.
Any suggestions? SEi8 i5-8279U has Iris Plus 655 integrated GPU.
I've spent the morning searching the sub and it looks like GMKtec is more or less a decent brand, as far as cheap mini PCs go. But I can't find any reviews on the Nucbox G6. Does anyone have any experience with this? It's a Ryzen 5425u and the barebones version is on sale for $170 right now. I have 16 GB DDR4 and a 1 TB NVMe to recycle from an older NUC, so this seems like a steal.
I was looking at a few N100 options (like the G5) around the same price but given the G6's upgradeable RAM, dual 2.5G ethernet ports, room for dual 2280s, and higher performance of the 5425u, it seems like this is a major upgrade for very little additional cost.
The only downside appears to be the increased power draw (15W vs the 6W of the N100), but 8W isn't a massive difference.
Any thoughts?
Black Friday has supposedly started, hoping to pick up a mini pc with 780m gpu but the deals are not looking good ATM. For example the Beelink ser8 is £599 on BF
But you can buy it for £463 non BF.
Any ideas if the deals will get any better?
Hey folks, I'm looking to get a couple of gaming Mini PCs for casual gaming online coop games. We'd be hooking it up to TVs in a living room.
My wife & I already have Xbox Series Xs for AAA or online competitive games. This is for stuff that doesn't make it to Xbox or beyond Steam Early Access. So probably current and older AA or indie games.
Any recommendations? Budget is up to $1500 per unit.
Hey everyone i am new to mini pcs, i heard that minisforum um790 is great, i saw a deal on geekom also dont know how much performance difference they have and havent heart much about this mega model? Is there any reccomendations you wanna give , i just wanna play games and have a portable pc.you can recommend other options also
Hi, was looking into getting a mini pc due to space constraints. K will mainly use it for studying (word, ppt etc) and light gaming (valorant and Minecraft). Is there a mini pc that exists in this budget range?
Hello,
I'm looking for a Mini PC with a max budget of 350 EUR.
I will need for web browsing, movies, office.
What I expect:
-a minimum 6 core Processor -16 GB RAM minimum with possibility to expand it
I have found one

I have a GMKTec K6 and the top case fan is really loud. Even when the CPU package is at 40° C pulling 11 W, I can hear the fan from under my bed and desk a few feet away. I already tried updating the BIOS to try to find fan controls but there are none. I also got Fan Control and it didn't detect the fan. Is there an easy way to make it quieter?

I inherited a MinisForum Z83-F and am merely trying to get it to work. I've never played with one of these mini one-board PCs.
It boots into repair mode.
I can boot a Windows 11 installer image (via USB), but fails after choosing partition, and can't change partitions.
With Command Shell / DISKPART
- deleting partitions and formatting fails with Bad Operation.
- I can see disk, partitions and volumes
I checked BIOS and found the eMMC Write Protect, and disabled it, but it changed nothing.
It is as if the mounted partitions are read only.
What could I try? (Yes, throwing it away is an option)
I've downloaded these, but not helpful if I can't write to the disk.
NiPoGi AK2 Plus Mini PC, Intel Alder Lake-N100 (fino a 3,40 GHz, TDP 6 W), 16 GB DDR4 512 GB M.2 SSD
So, I already have a Beelink I'm using to record streams on Twitch, and for some light work.
But I'm also looking at MiniPCs for AI-related tasks. Specifically, I am interested in using the (relatively powerful) iGPUs and the NPUs in a cluster.
So, I also have a (currently not set up) Minisforum UM780 XTX, but that doesn't appear available, anymore.
So I'm looking at some deals and would like to get a general idea of what most people think between the brands.
The 2 models I'm MOST looking at are the (also Minisforum) UM890 Pro (8945HS/64G/1T), and the GMKTec K8 (8845HS/64G/1T).
My question is, however, the Sheets thing available on this sub lists Minisforum as 2.7 quality, and GMK as 1.7, Beelink as 5.25.
Meanwhile, on TrustPilot, I get 3.7/5 for Minis, 3.5 for Beelink, and 2.0 for GMK.
Additionally, one of the few people I know on Discord says that GMK is slightly better than Minis.
I have only limited information on Geekom, which was like the only other one that seemed to have any deals.
I would like a bit of input on some of the brands, but please keep the following in mind:
In case anyone feels the need to critique those design decisions:
(So any resemblance is largely boilerplate and coincidental in those respects, so please repress the urge, thanks)
Things I have heard discussed:
Key concern is the reliability of the system (or rather, the brands)
Thanks in advance. I'll check back later, because I just got home and need to sleep, shower, and eat.
