So I'm just starting to get into the idea of milsim, specifically MSW. I'm already neck deep in the AK platform as it is for chest rigs/pouches/rifle parts etc. so RUSFOR is the obvious option and all I would need is the airsoft counterpart to my main go to which is my 104. The problem being I feel like I'm getting into this at the worst possible time given that all the Russian surplus seems to have all but dried up given current events and the only kit I'm short is a uniform in an appropriate camo. The main question being what are my options for accurate-ish camo patterns that fit RUSFOR parameters that are going to be more readily accessible on the US surplus market?

Has a MRO and DBAL. Still gotta add my Surefire and modlite buttons on it. Slingster will be holding this bad Larry. It’s a 350 FPS, will it be good to go for a 40 hour event?
I’ve got a DCU IBA and I don’t know what I’m supposed to put on it? Usually I just throw some stuff ontop of it but I want to set it up properly, help?
I had a few questions on how to combat Night vision/thermals during milsim west at The Kharkiv Hammer. However, I'm wondering what I can do to reduce detection or level the playing field.
One Idea I had was using a flare/flare gun to illuminate a large area as militia to level the playing field. Wondering what would be stopping me, cause as I interpret the TACSOP, my idea would be no go.
So im looking to buy a zenitco style handguard for my E&L Ak-105 and im not sure what brands to be looking at? I want something metal. Something like a b-10 or hexagon style handguard. Where would you guys recommend buying these from? I may also end up getting different things such as a new stock, upper reciever, stuff like that. I just need something metal, and somewhat cheap. Thank you!
So I remember when TCA (Third Coast Airsoft) ran an event named Iron Fury at GTI in Barnwell SC. I talked to several admins who said that the event was experimental and they would never run it again. They apologized to the people who went for the last few years. So when I saw they were gonna run a new Irom Fury, I was concerned. And who knows, it may be a good event. I just know that both green and tan didn't like how Iron Fury 1 went down.
VFC BCM-licensed MCMR 11.5 with a Gate Aster ETU for $360, or Tokyo Marui M4 SOPMOD CQB-R NGRS for $355, both through RedWolfAirsoft.
Looking for as much realism as I can get while maintaining a reliable rifle. I don’t want to tinker with it. I want to set it and make sure my batteries are taken care of, and just plug and go when the time comes.
All my experience with airsoft is more than a decade old at this point. If anybody has any other recommendations for this, I’d appreciate it. I don’t want the hassle of GBB and temp differences and etc, but I’d like to have recoil and bolt catch and such. Part of my intent is to use this rifle as a training aid for new shooters, as well as doing some MilSim events from time to time.
TIA 🖤
Just a small update to my kit for msw shali front
Kit consists of:
Vkbo 5th layer
6b47
Atacs hat
Multicam balaclava
Sso pantsir
Sso battle belt and suspenders
Ars arma mag pouches and dump pouch
Arcturus ak12
Merrall Moab 3s
Looking to join nato for my first mil sim west am I allowed to wear multicam with a ranger green plate carrier or does the plate carrier have to be multicam?
So im looking at building a kit for Milsim west (Militia) and ive found a few brands im looking between to get my pants and top and ive seen emerson gear is good but you have to look for "blue label" or "yellow label" when your ordering? What does this mean and should I order from that brand? Im looking for some type of m81 woodland/russian camo for the militia faction and possibly just a normal od green combat top to run with it. What brands would you guys suggest? Im also looking at the Arktis c222 pants but I have zero clue about that brand as I have heard nothing about it.
Mostly basing all my kit purchases off of what I see from active frontline combatants in the 3rd separate assault brigade as they are one of the most equipped and capable units but I've been wondering why I don't see many impressions based on more recent developments? Is this about a morality thing or is it just that more people lean to Russian Z slop?
If anyone has links to posts or pictures of others' impression kits based on post-2022 gear that would be awesome! Also any advice or niche details would be greatly appreciated :)
Currently looking at groin armor and similar specific things ukrainian assault troops tend to use. Thanks everyone and Слава Україні!
Hi. I want to switch from AEG to HPA system. But I don't want to disseamble my Gearbox with AEG system installed. I saw this 3D peinted gearbox on a Chines website. It is a 3D printed V2 Gearbox. As far as I know, HPA system can be installed with such Gearboxes. Can I install Polarstar Kythera HPA system with this Gearbox on M4?
