I’ll graduate next year and will start working in Midland/Odessa. I been here before for like 2 weeks, but that was a long time ago. What are the best restaurants, BBQs, and sport bars around there that I should check out.
I also like to hike and trails around there that are on pavement.
To start, the opportunity i have stumbled on is great. They are hiring new grads and seem to like me. The experience i would gain would directly help me find jobs elsewhere in aerospace engineering. I plan on initially staying for at least 3 years.
I would be moving from Houston. First off, id like to know some basic city information. Im a boring person who doesnt go out much and doesnt like parties as much as staying home with my hobbies or going out and seeing nature. What ive seen is that the area is very empty with little to do and a toxic environment.
On that note, i am very concerned with what ive seen regarding the water. Is it safe or not? Does it depend on the area? Do most apartments filter their water? I have aquariums and a spike in water hardness may shock my fish and kill them. Would an RO system fix that?
What is the general level of safety? Whats the weather like? Im aware its a desert
I am curious if anyone else felt like there were alot more people voting early this year. I personally don't remember ever waiting in line to vote early before this year. Were there less early voting polling places? Or is early voting turn out just up? What was your experience this year?
Any place to get block ice?
Im from El Paso and im having trouble finding a good job over here, so i want to move to midlands odessa. Do you think i would be able to find a job or no? I would be leaving with very little money thats why im a little worried that i wont find a job
Alright I need a barber/hairdresser that can look at my hair line or the shape of my head and tell me what styles would work best for me, because I’m not the expert with this.
Google and whatever “maps” is takes me to roads that don’t exist and aren’t the best way and it’s making me late for jobs is there a secret oil field app everyone is using that I don’t know about or just bad luck? I left at 5 am today, supposed to be a 1.5 hr drive, was to the lease road earlier, was an hour late by the time I got to the actual right location
Looking for someone in the midland/odessa area to help create a website for me by giving my ideas in mind. I’ve tried Wix, Wordpress, etc. can’t capture what I want to create.
Hello Midessa; I'm new around here.
Three HEBs, WB, Pinkies, Boom or Bust....I can't find the wines I like.
Barolo. Amarone. HEB has one Amarone, but its from (IMO) one of the lesser vineyards in Valpolicella. None of the other places have ANY options.
Is there somewhere that has a better selection of higher end wines?
I am looking for someone who is interested in taking over 5 month lease at the Tradewinds Apartments in Midland.
Lease is 1260 a month.
1 bed /1 bath 820 square foot apartment.
Does anyone know where I could go to have a chandelier rewired?
Hi, my fiancé (24F) and I (24M) recently moved to Midland and are searching for ways to meet new people. I grew up in the area and she’s from Lubbock. All of my old friends have moved off and because I moved for college I never really got into the night life. What are some good places to go and meet people around our age on Friday and Saturday nights?
Was something recently legalized or about to be? Maybe I’m blind and didn’t notice but we went from like a handful to one every few blocks. Hell there’s some across the street from each other.
Any real cheap tint shops around don’t want anything real fancy just need my work truck windows dark as possible

What is the story on this tower, 818 Maple Ave. Odessa
Hi. I am in town on business. Last time I was here, I went to Corky's. It was a decent time and the lady behind the bar, Lucy, was really cute and fun. So, I thought I'd swing by and say hi since I'm in town again.
I got there at 12:30 AM and the lady behind the bar told me the place had closed. I thought that was weird because online it said the hours were until 2 AM, but I didn't see anyone in the bar so I guess I figured they closed up shop early. I said, ok, no big deal, I'll hang out outside and wait for my Uber. I ordered my ride and hung out on my phone.
Then, these guys came out and started fixating on me like moths to a flame. One of the guys drunkenly says to me "heyo, where the good-lookin' women at, eh? Where the good-lookin' women at?" But before I can even respond to this question (to which I don't know the answer,) all I said is I've only seen men at the bar so far and their leader accused me of being a "f###ing f####t." I stood there in complete shock as I had never been in such an intimidating situation based on, uhh, I guess, suspicion of being gay? I'm not, by the way; that shouldn't matter, but, since it does, I'm not even gay!!!!"
So, my Uber arrived and I excused myself, walking as quickly as I could without running or stressing since that was likely to provoke them more. The Uber driver spoke only Spanish, thankfully I am fluent so I explained that these guys were drunk and agitated and we needed to leave immediately. They began banging on his windows and pulling on his doors. If we had hung out any longer, they probably would've tried to block us in.
What the actual, literal hell?
Now that the weather has slightly cooled I've been wanting to pickup pickelball or even padel (maybe both?) but not sure where to start. I havent been able to find any info on intro classes or lessons at the BTC. Ideally would be awesome to find someone who is fun and patient enough to go through a few basic motions of the sport, comp can be negotiable. Im at the experience level of watching a few clips on Youtube. Im new to Midland and was encouraged by some friends in the Houston and DFW area to give it a try.
Does anyone know where or who I can contact to get an app created?
