Dedicated to the classic 80s TV show.
Feel free to post anything related to the show, or "Vice Culture". 80's music, cars, style, and, of course, the world of Sonny Crockett and Rico Tubbs.

Playing a bad guy.
Emmy winner Edward James Olmos (Battlestar Galactica) guest-starred as Lorenzo Batista, the imprisoned father of the gang member who took the shot at the mayor. Veritably locked in the warden’s office with the commish, Batista tried to play 4-D chess with Frank, scoffing at his attempts to leverage flimsy evidence. But as the fascinating face-off played out, Frank brandished a trump card — he’d already convinced the feds to back out of their quid pro quo arrangement with Batista. Frank then suggested, as a father who’d lost a son, that Batista spare his Alejandro a trip on “the next train to Hell” by helping the cops bring him in, safely.

So this neat vintage promo for season 3 has been up on YouTube for a while. One thing that's bugged me though was the music - it sounds close to Hammer, but my gut always said it's not him. Fast forward to tonight and I just happen to pick Peter Gabriel's 1985 soundtrack Birdy to listen to for my walk. A track called “Slow Water" comes on and then it hits me. It's the same music as in the Miami Vice promo! Someone at NBC must have used a few seconds of the Gabriel song for this promo.
This is so hard, so many good ones. It could be simplified by asking your favorite episode per season but I’m going for your all time favorite.
mine is Little Miss Dangerous (season 2).
I've had Miami Vice playing in the background on my Roku via the Universal Action channel whenever I work from home. Checked this past week how far along in Season One they were on the schedule, and the Season One airings for today absolutely skip Episode 21, "Evan." Even though I have the box sets (DVD & BluRay), I'm annoyed that what is a top 10 episode is unseen by those relying on this channel to see the show (also one of the best Jan Hammer soundtrack songs). Curious to know if other episodes are missing on this channel?
it's been a while so maybe I'm wrong but was it ever really addressed once Sonny gets his memory back? I mean even for 80s tv it is a little far fetched that a cop can become a criminal for several months then go right back on the force with no repercussions. the only thing I remember is him testifying in court and a lawyer asking him about his mental state due to a recent "undercover assignment ". So I guess Castillo had enough pull to convince everyone he was undercover the whole time?
Love this one. All the Miami Vice feels.

I know this is dedicated to the series, but I really would like to know the general opinion about the movie from the fans of the series. I’m not here to argue points of view, just to find out more stuff about it.
The Japanese VHS/Laserdisc releases of the show that are out there are merely subbed (as in original English audio with Japanese subtitles). As far as I can find on sites like Yahoo.jp, any Japanese home video release that was out there were subbed, not dubbed (even the Japanese DVD releases, but maybe someone can correct me if I’m wrong).
This had to be one of the weirdest cast of guest stars in one episode of any show
Melanie Griffith, Don Johnsons ex at the time
George Takei, Sulu from Star Trek
Capt. Lou Albano, pro wrestling manager
Afa Anoai, pro wrestler
Vanity, singer and former girlfriend of Prince
sonny crockett forever😎
