Any sort of bent-nose tweezers and/or slanted/precision tweezers are many modelers go-to tool for how small the tabs are. For a lot of the situations, precision tweezers are more efficient to use over needle-nose pliers.
Fascinations makes a 3-piece toolkit for their metal models that comes with a clipper, flat-nose pliers and needle-nose pliers.
Mandrels help create rounded parts. Here is a small mandrel and here is a 'large' mandrel, there both work well for these models.
Places such as YourToyMart.com have created an all-in one toolkit with most of everything that may be needed to create Metal Earth models.
Accidents happen, pieces break, if that happens Superglue, Quick Dry, or 5 Second Fix can help re-attach a broken piece.

If you can manage to assemble an HK Nanyuan 3D metal model with it's crappy instructions and blurry print instructions then you can build just about anything out there. My wife gifted me some of these models (not knowing exactly how absolutely crummy some of then were). Up to this point I had assembled about 300 M/E models. I wont go into all of the details but the first one I built HK Nanyuan was an absolute bust ( A motorcycle). It was a nightmare on paper. I could not read the hundred times Xeroxed instructions nor could I even read the part numbers. In the trash it went. I thought the worst and I did not want my Wife to be upset So I slogged through the next few models. The next few (The Formula Car, The Roller Coaster, The cable Car, The Nautilus and The Merry Go Round went pretty well but not without there own significant structural /instructional problems, You still have to look well ahead and use your imagination on on how to navigate these models. I'm not really trying to bash them but I do this to relax and and feel as though I have accomplished some little thing that no one will really appreciate but ME. With that said there is need for major improvement in the near future with this particular manufacturer, because, who doesn't like a less expensive alternative? I'm done with my little rant!!
Hello guys, it’s me again. The guy that broke the Hollywood tower hotel model. Quick update on that: they’re sending me a new model. Since this was my first one (and was kinda difficult) I would like to know which model will be beginner friendly. Also, which tools should I use? Right now I’m using some toe nail scissors (I know, gross lol, but they were new) and some nail tweezers (also new). I don’t have anything else, just starting. And even though I failed the first time, I enjoyed the process.
Hello, so I bought a Hollywood tower hotel metal kit and broke one of the parts while building it, it’s the one marked and I think is one of the main ones. Any advice other than buying another one?
The original F-22 was one of my first builds back in the day, and I had an absolute blast building the new one! Strongly recommend, I've built 100s of these now and the premium F-22 is perfect.
Have you built Orthanc correctly?
I'm having problems attaching the claws to each piece of the tower. The part doesn't fit properly in the slot and paint is coming off. Any techniques to get it right?
I'm willing to pay someone to build the Metal Earth Iron Throne Model, I can have it shipped to your address, pay for the build, and will pay the postage to have it sent to me once complete. Any takers?
Hey guys im super new to model building i just got 2 of the piececool models and a few model buidling tools and now im contemplating whether the difficulty would be too much for me. I havent started on any of them yet but would love some suggestions. Should i give it a go or should i get the level 3 or lower difficulty ones?
