Question for south Merritt island residents that live on south tropical trail on the water. Specifically, around (2 miles radius) honeymoon lake .
Anyone know if there are MAJOR No-see-um( aka gnats) issues/ hot spots areas for the houses on the water on south tropical trail, particularly south of St. George street. We are looking at a few homes in that area and this question is something that only residents of that area can answer.
I grew up beach side so I know about mosquitoes and the whole dusk and dawn thing but never had to deal withno-see-um being an issue. I have friends that live on the water in Tampa and off the water in Orlando and it was unbearable and every single day so enjoying your own back yard was out of the question. So trying to do some research but not a lot of information out there on no-see-ums.
Thank you in advance!
I was in a little crash today on N Courtenay Pkwy right at the light between the RaceTrac gas station/the Brevard County Sheriff department and the drawbridge, I was hoping to find out if anyone witnessed the hit who could definitely tell who’s fault it was.
I was in a purple PT Cruiser and the other person was in a black Ford Focus, it happened at around 8:15 ish, no witnesses actually pulled over but I really need the help on this.
I have the choice of departing from the Indian River side or the Banana River side of the island. I have some friends that will be in town and want to give them a boat tour and cruise around the area but I'm generally unfamiliar with the area.
My first thought is that on the Indian River side, we'd come out around the 528 bridge, go up the ICW to and around the NASA causeway or maybe the next bridge up.
Alternatively, on the Banana River side, the south side of the Port Canaveral lock and down to what I've heard referred to as the "Thousand Islands".
I'm leaning towards the Banana River but wondering if there's anything I've yet to hear about that's worth checking out.

Hi all... Just moved to the area. I was driving by Kelly Park and noticed the nice soccer fields. I see there are several parks with soccer fields. I want to know if there is any pickup soccer going on or an adult league? Nothing serious, just for fun. Thanks in advance for any leads.
My sister and I will be in town for our first ever vacation together. We are going to do the most cliché thing and get small matching tattoos. Are there decent shops in the area? Can you share your pieces?
Att fiber
Anyone got the inside scoop on the rollout of att fiber in merritt Island, specifically near the Brentwood area, S. Tropical.
Any places hiring servers? Teacher here looking for a summer job. TIA!
I’m looking for a slowpitch (or fastpitch) softball league in the brevard area! Everything I’m finding is seniors only. Anyone know of any leagues for a 26f and what time of year they play? Thanks!
Hey all. Just moved to the Island for a job. What are some fun things to do around here? Also looking to meet people, do stuff on weekends, etc.
This is weird, but I recently learned from a Facebook search that a friend of mine and my hubby died around 10-12 years ago. We had not had contact in a while obvi because we moved to the other side of the country. We have a son who was about to graduate from college and I was going to find him and invite him to the party we had. So I searched Facebook and found a page that his daughter created for a get-together on his birthday. His name was John Ille. If anyone could share any info about his passing I would appreciate it forever.
TLDR: If you knew John Ille please share any info you'd be comfortable with regarding his passing. TY
wheres everybodies favorite steak spot in th area?
We are moving back to the Space Coast from bustling a Northeastern area where we raised our family. Before kids, we moved around LOTS due to jobs and lived in Cocoa beach at two different houses. This transfer back is welcome but more sudden than we had anticipated due to job. Right now, there does not seem to be a lot on the market of the type of house we are looking for (waterfront is our only non-negotiable). We have expanded our search and have found a few in Merritt Island on the North side. However, the whole MI style of living is different than what we had envisioned for this next move. Seems like everything would be a drive; to the beach, to the store, to any eateries or night life. Trying to understand how others see the area and pros/cons of MI vs living more beach side. Any and all constructive comments are welcomed!
Hey there. Just got a job and looking to be on the island. How loud are the launches from your home? Are they frequent / a nuisance. I am not one to be easily annoyed from noise or such. Thank you!
Hello,I am studying for an extremely tough exam which requires 12 hours of study time. The public library is open only till 5 PM. Is there any other library here, like a school library or something where one can sit and study? This is only for a short period of time like 2 months.
Guys there is a snake in my house. It has crawled up in a cabinet. I'm new here and I am seeing a snake of this length for the first time. How do I get it out? Who do I call? What do I do? The private company I called are asking for 600 dollars for it.

Hello, I am new to Merrit Island, Florida. I drive in India but here I find the rules too confusing and I am basically scared to get on the road because of the three lane system followed here. Any tips, suggestions that can help me get over my fear of driving here?
Also, I have heard that Americans get really angry if someone is not following the rules etc. In India, we are pretty accommodating and speeds are also not that high. This perceived road rage is also contributing to my fear of getting on the road.
Any help?
Here from Cali!!!!! And I need a little bit of weed while I’m here.. a cartridge anything
I just moved to Merritt Island recently and am looking for some recommendations in or near MI. Thank you in advance 😊
