There’s two versions of this story in the News Corp press. This one seems certain of his 2026 departure.
We are absolutely stacked next season.
With NAS back in the side and Stefano joining we have the size and muscle in the middle we were sadly missing in the GF.
Not sure this Moses Leo will play much next season but if he becomes half as good as our other rugby 7s recruit in Will Warbrick we’ll be doing very well.
What am I missing here?
Hes being off a multi-year deal at the Storm $750k a season. The club gave him his start and has supported him through several injury ravaged seasons where he barely played. When I saw the Storm contract offer I thought gee whiz, they’ve being very generous. I would’ve thought anything around $600k would’ve been fair in terms of the output he’s produced going into his next contract.
Now apparently the Bulldogs might land him offering him a million a year.
My question is, why would Papi leave the club that’s stood by him and made him the player he is for what is likely to be an extra $50k after tax? The fact he’s rejected our offer and is actively negotiating with the dogs makes me think I wanna see him leave… if he’s not grateful for what he’s been offered would order to give Fa-alogo a regular starting spot and he’s younger and faster anyway.
Interesting take from Brandon Smith. Seems like a really odd human. You don’t often see ex-Storm players potting their team mates.
Is he jealous Paps is a Clive Churchill medalist, and also that his career has amounted to nothing since he took the money at the Roosters?
No doubt he'd be more centre material now, maybe even backrow
Still struggling with Sunday’s loss tbh. Was such a golden chance for a title. Feels like guys like Munster have had such a good career 3 premierships would’ve franked a lot. I feel like Storm have made sooooo many prelims/GFs they probably deserve 1 or 2 (or 3) more premierships (we’ll still count 2007 and 2009 surely).
Maybe it’ll be even sweeter this time next year if we win it, but they’re so hard to get to. You start back at the bottom of the mountain, then you need to work out if your base camp is still in a good enough position to reach the summit.
I still feel this core of Munster/Hughes/Grant/Papi etc have another 2+ titles in them.
What happened to him last night? We were badly exposed in the middle of the ruck with NAS missing. I thought Tui might be able to do a job but he blew up after just 10 mins, was taken off after 18mins and never returned.
I wonder if a performance like that will have a long term impact on his tenure at the Storm. I reckon Bellamy would judge harshly non performers in grand finals.
Harry gave it everything last night, what a legit legend. Even though we came short I’m happy to stand behind him.
A future immortal I’m sure.
I've watched the reply of the disallowed try and there was an arm under it. It looks like the ball but it's not have a look again. But there was a strip during the game where I feel like there was 2 or 3 people in the tackle and we lost the ball also we really missed NAS. I didn't think we'd need him but he was a huge loss. It was a close game and Storm made a couple of mistakes that let Penrith score. That game could have gone either way. I'm not enjoying this. I believe Howarth had a fucking amazing game. The second half he really worked his ass off and gave us some really good metres. Paps and Munny had very average performances. Harry was great hughes never got any momentum but he didn't play bad. Blore made some good runs. Katoa was strong but without Nas he had to do too much of the grind work. Warbrick tried but Penrith were all over him. Coates was ok but made a crucial mistake. Loiero was excellent. Wishart will be a big loss. Welch neede a huge game. King needed a huge game. Meany didnt do much good or bad. It was a performance that looked like a team who needed more experience. We have it but that experience didn't turn up. I'm excited for the future. I think we need to retain Sua. We also need some more power in the forward pack. But that could just be Nas or maybe Lazarus might step up next season. Best thing is we are probably not going to lose anyone where as the Panthers are losing alot. Also our kicking game was very average I don't think the back 3 of Penrith were ever under any real pressure.
As A Swans and Storm fan I want to know what I did to anger god
Personally I don't want to talk about it.
But if you do, here we are.
You can have em, don’t want any cash for them . They were purchased by mistake.

What a season, hey? We are in such good shape going into 2025. Of course I hope (and almost expect) to win - but if we don’t, I’d have taken a losing GF result at the start of the year.
Bring in home boys!
is anyone able to and going to the game on Sunday able to take a picture of the game while you are there and post it in the comments on this thread? , I am trying to trick my wife and propose to her but she thinks I am attending the game.

I know the spine/big 4 are the most important and irreplaceable in our side and they are humming, but how big of a loss is NAS?
I feel he’s the main guy that can bend a defence and open things up when things are a bit tight. Welch has barely played much and will now probably start, with maybe 20-30mins of impact from a Lazarus or Chan off the bench.
How much will it hurt us?
