Media Analysis and Criticism
Welcome to /r/media!
This subreddit is about critical analysis and discussion about media. Especially "The Media (TM)." News stories about media is allowed, but not preferred.
Is it a discussion about media? Is it a critique of media? You're good to go.
Is it a news story about media figures or companies? Use caution! This news story should try to contextualize the news with an eye to how this will affect media produced.
Is this just a piece of media that you want to show off? This is not the best place for it!

I just want to let this here
Media people and organizations tend to be techno-incompetent and techno-phobic, The NY Times is an excellent example, and few reporters anywhere have had any contact with STEM education.
Here's what I think is an excellent example of NY Times tecno-incompetence. You have to wonder about the extent to which this ignorance extends to its reporting.
Users of the NY Times iphone app have been complaining about it's problems for at least 2 years. So finally the Times has upgraded its app, and if you are a user, when you click on the app on your phone, you get a message saying you must upgrade to the latest version. That version requires Apple version IOS 16. But if you have an older phone, as I do, the latest IOS is 15.8.2, and you cannot upgrade past that.
IOW, an older phone will not support the latest Times app.
Somehow, however, for YEARS the WSJ and Washington Post have had apps that work very well on older versions of IOS.
