Okay so today my store was absolutely slammed. I’m talking +9 for my whole 3 1/2 hour shift. I started my shift and was immediately met with a question where the answer could be found easily. The question being « Is this McDonald’s? » and I continued to get silly questions my whole shift.
I applied through Olivia and clicked skip for now for the video application, and Olivia said she'd remind me later. I have the video but now I can't submit it after I'm done as she never "reminded me".
found this old 1945 canadian penny strewn along the other pennies in my cash register but this isn't the only time I found foreign currency I once found Czech Republic coins and even Romanian coins and a Chinese coin once!
m in Australia and my workplace and my maccas acounts have the same email but the discount doesn't appear on the app. How can I fix this?
At every McDonald's I have ever been to, the lettuce had had a distinct smell. It's not the smell of spoiled lettuce, it's just a smell I've only ever smelled from McDonald's lettuce. It's not exactly bad but isn't good either. It's subtle enough that I never noticed it until someone pointed it out, but having been pointed out I now smell it every time. I have never smelled this aroma from lettuce from anywhere else. Am I crazy? Does anyone know what I am talking about? Or know why the lettuce smells so unique?
Lady ordered meal for $8.99 at Drive-Thru, and pulled forward to window to pay. I slid open window, and gave her the total of $9.53. She literally screamed at me “How does $8.99 come to $9.53”? I politely told her sales tax. Again, she screamed at me saying “You should list the prices including tax on your menu like other states do”! I said absolutely nothing. She handed me $10, and I grabbed her change and the receipt. Before I could even reach out the window to hand them to her, she screamed yet again “What I give you $10 and don’t get any change”? I told her I was going as quickly as possible, handed them to her and quickly closed my window.
Seems like there have been a LOT of extra crabby customers today in particular. It doesn’t do anybody any good to scream at a crew member who is just doing their job.
Literally what? Caramel bags do not belong in the shake machine my friend
Fr why they be doin this
So I worked for my location for over a year now and I find out they didn’t put me on the schedule for this week and when I called and asked my general manager why I’m not on the schedule the only answer I got was “cause of projection” like I work hard so why in the heck would they do this when I worked hard for them for over a year?!
hi I lately applied for a job over here and I got my first interview like two weeks ago (Tuesday before the last one). they said they'd get back to me within a week but it's been complete silence this then. I already checked the subreddit for any similar stories but they've all been usually more positive than mine. is this normal? or should I enquire? thanks!
Lunch is great and easy
Why is breakfast so much more difficult 😭
So i ended up calling my local mc donald’s and instead they referred me to the franchisee office of that mc donald’s but they didn’t pick up so should i leave it there or call again later?
So I've done orientation, have my uniform, signed all the documents and given direct deposit. They said I should get a call within the next 2 weeks of when I'll have my 3 training shifts. It's been I think 9 days. Should I wait out the 2 weeks or should I call the store and ask for an update? I'm nervous because this is my first job and i have absolutely no clue how this stuff works.
Also do you get paid for orientation? Mine was supposed to be 3 hours but it lasted 1.5 hours.
So myself and a coworker are in window 1 with him on payments, he went to get a drink while the drive thru was empty, when he came back a manager entered and threatened him saying that if he left again he’d be fired and won’t be paid for the hours he’s worked, now here’s the thing he handed in his notice and ends his employment ends next week. I’m just curious if they can legally do that or not over getting something to drink while no cars are in the drive thru
People who order curbside when it’s -9 and windy are the worst. Especially when it’s something like one ice cream cone. Then they choose the furthest spot from the store when the whole parking lot is empty.
I want my job at McDonald’s in oceana and willing to see what I have to do to achieve this goal of mine. I am deeply passionate about McDonalds in general.
To start im still kinda new I started about a 3 weeks ago. I’ve only ever done front window I’m a closer btw. I work 3-12 sometimes 3-1 5 days a week so I’m there A LOT! I eat my breakfast lunch and dinner there that’s how much I’m there. Im also am 17, graduated, engaged, and have a daughter but still am a minor not emancipated. there’s this one guy who I’ve only ever seen 2 times yesterday and today. all my co workers are great and nice they make me feel included and like I belong there, but for some reason this one dude is rude asf, like really really rude he took the window on my break and after my break he stayed, and I started learning a little dinning room for the first time. until our main manager went on break then he waited for our brand new manager to come around and asked him to switch with me. the thing is I was really happy learning a new thing I’m not new to working in a restaurant so I’ve learned once you start to learn a new thing that means they have faith you know how to do that first thing. so I was excited and loving it and I was doing good until he asked to go to the bathroom and I did window for him and I was ok until he came back and refused to go back in the window. I was annoyed and a little upset but oh well it’s the job but I did say that “jay” that’s what we are gonna call my main manager said I could be on front for the rest of the night, and this dude got upset and started talking about how jay is on break and I’m newer then him and so I have to take his seniority into account. if one thing I’ve learned from my amazing managers is that at McDonalds seniority isn’t anything we work as a team at least for my place, then he was just being really rude all day talking about how I’m apparently a felon mind you I’m 17 and have no legal past not even a speeding ticket. I’m a very very pasty Mexican like I don’t pass for Hispanic at all I have dyed black hair this dude is very open about being Cuban and in my restaurant the Hispanics are like the “popular kids”. which idc I’m just there to get paid but when he started saying stuff like that and also being passive aggressive it started to hurt my feelings. I’m also autistic so i struggle with emotional regulation, he then purposefully ran into me while I was caring a smoothie and it got all in my sock and shoe. I asked my manager if I could go to the car and get new ones he said yes then asked if I was cold and gave me his jacket while he was still on break. I called my mom and cried while looking for socks because I was just so hurt that this kid is so mean to me but I’ve never met him or done anything to him. he continues like this the whole night till one of my friends I’ve made calls me shorty bc I’m short and i laughed till he said yeah shawty and I got very uncomfortable and said don’t call me that it’s not the same thing she did she’s my friend and she’s not a guy and I’ve known her much longer, and he tells me to calm down and that it’s fine because he didn’t say anything bad I want to tell my manager but I don’t want them to back him up bc he’s a guy and he’s been there longer I just feel very beat today.
I’m soooo annoyed. I’ve been working at McDonald’s for the past 3 years. At the start of October, I requested Sundays to be off my availability because I volunteer at my university on that day. I’m there all day. It’s super important because it’s my last year and I need volunteer experience for grad school. They followed my availability for a month and then after that started scheduling me on Sundays again. I tried to send in another availability, but it’s been a few weeks and I keep getting Sundays. I’ve been lucky that I’ve found covers for those shifts because I wouldn’t be able to come in for Sundays anyways. I reached about to the scheduling manager and she said she wouldn’t schedule me on Sundays anymore. On Thursday I got my schedule for the coming week and I was scheduled on Sunday again. I reached out to the scheduling manager again and she said she took the week off and that the GM made the schedule this week. I reached out to the GM and she told me I have to be available on Sundays because they hire based on weekend availability. First of all, nothing like that was said to me when I was hired 3 years ago (the GM has been here less than a year). Second, I can still work Saturdays. I literally cannot work on Sundays. I didn’t text the GM back because she told me she would talk to me on Monday (it’s Friday night right now). I’m planning to stand my ground when I talk to her because I literally can’t come in at all on Sundays. I know a girl who only works weekend even though the GM wanted her to work weekdays because she has school Monday-Friday. I know a guy who only works Saturdays and that’s it. I’m just so annoyed.
Idk if they were drunk or just dumb
Is this anything to be worried about? Obviously didn't finish the shake but had a few sips.
I have work from McDonald's for one month and I've got the employee in a month it was unexpected and shocking
Now, I don’t mind cleaning the lobby when it is calm. But what I hate are people staring at me in the eyes like I owned them something or was their father. Also, the groups of young people that are noisy and just stop talking and stare at me everytime I walk past to them. And I say this as a young man of 17. The family of 7 that will buy 50$ worth of food and stay there for 4 hours with their children running and screaming around and when they leave they just leaving all the garbage on their table without any shame. A-n-y TIME. Or people calling you over the room like you were a dog and proceed to ask you the most complicated question like I was the CEO of Mcdonald. Do you guys agree?
"It's under Sandra!"
This happened on Wednesday. We were super busy. I'm talking full screens from the time I clocked in at 8am until 3pm. And of course we had some NCNS and call puts so that was fun. I was on head set and I lady came through with 2 orders. The first one was under Jamie. Then she says the second one is under Sandra. I look it up but no Sandra. I ask if she has the order number. No. She doesn't. She just keeps repeating that it's under Sandra. Thankfully, my GM was understanding about why it was taking so long and they were confused too. After 5 minutes, the lady says "It's the discount for the nuggets."....She didn't have a mobile order. She had a code. And apparently she had already used the code (you can only use it once a week) so she couldn't use the deal again but she refused to listen. She drove up to the window and demanded a manager. The GM went back there and spent 5 MORE minutes explaining why she couldn't get the deal. She eventually left the drive thru. She held up the drive thru because she refused to actually read.
Had another lady order almost $30 worth of food and tell me it was a replacement order. Got a manager who looked through the book. Didn't have the lady's name. Also the lady didn't know how she spoke to, didn't have a receipt, and called about it over a WEEK ago. Lady held up the whole drive through for over 10 minutes. Manager ended up promoing some stuff off, just to get the lady out of the drive thru. Other customers weren't happy but Thankfully, they were pissed at the lady instead of me.
