First off These tree pony plants on this community are so beautiful! I wish I had one ! This is mine and I love it , but noticed today that it doesn’t seem to be draining properly. It’s so happy in this pot and has been in it for a good 3 years , We have oil heat inside our home and it dries out pretty fast in winter , so today I gave it a good watering and then PANICKED because it was too much ! so I literally took like 4 towels and pushed on the soil to drain some out the best I could 🤯 I don’t want to stress the plant by re-potting though. What would you do ?? Should I re-pot it? I can’t unclog the holes because it’s a very heavy clay pot with the under plate attached . Thx so much !!
I’ve shaped her into this (yet to prune in the last 7 months) 1.5 L water bottle for size reference
This corn plant is at least 15 years old. It was given to me by my grandmother who found it on the street years and years ago.
I’ve had this maranta for almost 10 years. It’s been cut and propagated probably 5 or 6 times. It flowers regularly. The vines are very long but I keep them spiraled to give it a fuller look.
I know this plant sometimes has a reputation for being difficult but it’s always been fairly easy in my home. It occasionally gets some crispy leaves but it’s generally pretty vibrant. I’m sharing this now because it will likely get another chop this spring to start all over again.
It’s not very pleasing to me in a pot, but maybe hanging on the wall? Or should it grow vertically? If anyone has suggestions for neat ways to grow this, I’m all ears.
