Season 13

I've recently been re-watching the second season of this version, and it's actually pretty fun to watch. I don't really know much about these contestants aside from Tilly, but they seem to have some varied yet actually some pretty good skills. And there's also a pretty nice light fun comedic energy lol. Just seemed like a tight knit cast.
I sort of wonder how the casting of this show really worked since it's hard to gauge the skills.
I do wish they were challenged a little more. I feel like they brought a little more skills with the different challenge, some challenges were a little home style. I also wish it was a little longer cuz that's when it was starting to level up honestly.
I was wondering which underexplored cuisine y'all would love to see featured in the next season. We see a lot of French, Italian, Thai, etc.
No matter if it's through a guest chef, challenges, or just a contestant who loves cooking it, which style of cuisine would you like to see more of?
Personally I'd love more focus on Indigenous foods and styles of preparation. Ghana apparently has really interesting and delicious food that I'd love to learn more about too.
I would love to see some of the Juniors from all three seasons of MasterChef Junior Australia (2010, 2011, and 2020), now all grown up, represent the Juniors in the upcoming second Back To Win edition of MasterChef Australia in 2025, which will mark its 17th regular season.
Any thoughts.
This is usually a staple every season, but I don't remember seeing an episode for that, although I did watch the show late. But obviously with the pandemic, things did hault. I'm not sure if there were more masterclasses throughout. S14 did have that as well with fans vs faves, so its not fully with just the amateur playing field
I've always appreciated the challenges where contestants take inspiration from several forms of media or stories. (ex. S12's Fairy Tale Challenge & DM S1's Movie Inspo) Sometimes, it does feel kinda shoehorned, but those who do it right, is really exciting. Not sure if there were more of these challenges throughout the years, but it's one of my faves.
So, my random idea is for contestants to take the idea of a really conceptually infamous bad or at least weird dish from any TV show, movie, or book, then re-invent it to a really great dish. (I would personally like if there were more assignments to choose from like Invention test style or assigned style and not whatever they just want, to really bend their brain) - (And also they still have to keep some of the integrity of it then otherwise its a copout)
So like my first idea was The Friend's Trifle. It would be really funny just to see their reactions, but would also be fun to see like how their brains really bend. I also thought of the Spaghetti Tacos from iCarly, its not inherently bad, but also an odd idea.
It basically has to be odd in concept and not just bad tho lol. Like the Matilda cake, infamous, but not necessarily something to reinvent. I cant think of more, but there are many bad concepts out there that would be really fun to re-invent.
Masterchef is my background companion while doing D.I.Y projects. Which seasons are must to watch?
Saw this hilarious clip on yt didn't know where to post this so I figured you guys might enjoy it here. There're a few more from this series that I think you guys should check it out. I was honestly impressed and surprised by how open minded he is about everything except for one dish in this video.
Who do you reckon will be back? And remember as the audience we have our favourites and who we want back but producers will look at ratings and cash above all else so they're gonna get people that's going to create a good show and have engagement on socials I feel. Based on that I feel like Snez and Sav from season 16 or at least ONE of the two will be back, maybe Mimi too? Definitely Declan from S15 I think because he's just too funny. Difficult to figure out who from the earlier seasons might be back though.. I feel like they used a lot of the big names from the early seasons in Season 12?
Hey guys! Wondering if anyone remembers a pan seared duck breast and carrot puree masterclass by unknown chef from back in the 2009-2011/12 years?
My mum used to cook it and she wants to do it again but we can’t find the recipe. She recalls it had Szechuan pepper, cumin ingredients and the chef served it with mini Napa cabbage (not sure what the proper name for this is?)
Hope someone can help us out!
Edit: mum found the name of the ‘cabbage’, it’s actually witloof haha
Ngl: based on the review of the final dish: Nat winning masterchef was really dissappointing.
The judges have often said the following things:
In the 2nd part EACH judge was smiling when they ate Pezzas dish. None of the judges smiled at Nat's dish.
Sophie said the textural flaw was so bad, it affected the taste of the dish.
Despite Pezza missing the key element, the judges enjoyed his dish and Pezza "did the right thing" by not serving something that was inedible / bad.
While the gelatin mousse helped with the balance of flavour (and Nat likely didnt know about the gelatin blocks, but not knowing is even worse. It means she didnt even taste it), the judges still had to SPIT out parts. Like I cant see them ordering it again over Pezza's version
If Pezza got 7 avg for his, Nat should've scored 6 avg for hers. I feel like Nat won because she was favoured by the judges / the production, not because she was the better chef in the finale.
She may have been the better chef overall, but she fumbled worse in the finale, and wasnt punished for it. Past dishes shouldn't have been a scoring criteria, but this time those clearly were. 👎
So I was watching mkr and Simone and Viviana were just so good. It got me wondering what is the criteria for getting on masterchef and is there a chance they'd let people who had been on other shows on because I need to see Simone and Viviana against real competition
Hi everyone,
So I have an odd question, I was rewatching season 10 and was curious what the recipe was of Aldo his meatballs. But unfortunately I live in the netherlands and cannot access tenu. Can maybe someone give me tips how to access recipes or give me the recipe? https://tenplay.com.au/channel-ten/masterchef/recipes/nonna-s-meatballs?fbclid=IwY2xjawHKrxtleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHU9tRsGEL1jm3oai4oMY3g_7Gxk0_HQDUJ29A1E-GL4eruB9rcwso5XtRw_aem_GmX7gUo9tA_30Rs3p5YDRw
There used to be a link someone's husband had on here to watch season 18. I can't find it anymore. Does anyone have it?
See you all next time!

This is it everyone, its nice to be chatting for this short period of time! Remember to be civil whoever wins, all 3 finalists are masters no matter what and our judges have been nothing but fantastic this season!
Have a wonderful Christmas and we’ll see you again in Masterchef Australia 2025! Who do you want to win??

Time flies. What are your favourite books?
-SPOILERS-
As we know these are the top 5. I do feel like Jana, Christy and John are the most skilled left. But def not counting out the alumni, as last season 2 did make it through then.
The theme is def open to interpretation. This feels like it should have been the finale format tbh. But I do like the theme, and like even the storytelling aspect has to work.
Looking at the previews tho, Jana and John seem to be a little down and nervous, but then that always does happen, and I still hope they make it through.
I also do hope tho the finale format is different this year
I hope everyone is having a good Sunday!

Wa
I’m currently watching Masterchef AU: The Professionals and Anthony has just been eliminated as the second person out. He must be one of the sorest losers from all the seasons I’ve ever watched, the way he goes out is very abrasive.
