As the title says, I've never done any modeling before, just built and painted and weathered a few 1/24 car bodies for my Mini-Z and DRZ. I know there's not much English lore available from searching this sub, and I kinda dig that, but, like...are there _any_ canon colors and camos? If not, cool, but if there are it'll help keep me from getting blank page syndrome. Second: what do y'all use for bases? I've watched enough tutorials at this point that I'm moderately confident I could build my own, but if there're some that are at least preformed at about the correct size...again, blank page syndrome. I'm audhd as _shit_ and BPS has killed more projects than I can count, and these models are way too rad to let that happen.
If the answer to both of these is "nah, ain't none", I'll happily take any recommendations for guidance y'all have. I'm also happy to share the tutorials I've found most enlightening if anyone is interested. Some of the stuff the modeling community builds is just...mind blowingly artistic.
Thank you!
Wondering if anyone would know something about this pilot figure like manufacturer, name, etc. Thanks.
I always enjoyed adding animals to my projects to soften the mechanical feel of the suit. A loyal canine between the legs of the suit seems fitting for this 😊
i was just wondering what brands or types of paint you use to weather kits primarily space type but any ideas i would just like to see how people approach weathering
Does anyone have a Hexamodel "Egg Eater" kit that they would be willing to part with? It's kind of my grail of SF3D / Ma.K kits.
C&Cs welcome. Be gentle, this is my first Maschinen Krieger kit. Gott clear coat it next. Then decals and finish up weathering and extra touches.
The thing I love about doing these are the paint jobs - the hardest thing is to start- but once you do it can lead in any direction. Not always successful it has to be said! This one demonstrates my favourite approach of acrylics followed by oils then more acrylic and a mix of varnish finishes - matt with some gloss details.
Working my way down the suit 😊 Need to flesh out his story soon 🤨
Acrylics weathered off with oil paints and a mix of matt and gloss varnish.
Replaced the engine cover with wire mesh. Went with a slightly rusted look. Mostly acrylics with the silvery bits done with AK’s weathering pencil.
What's your rarest ma.k resin? Mine is rainbow egg antigravity bike 1/20
