This clown stealing my moldy cooler, hope he gets sick from those rotten drinks.
The lengthy video captured a suspicious vehicle and multiple instances of the theft.
We are thinking about buying a property in that area and we are wondering if you could help us with some feedback. What can you tell about that area? Pros and cons? I'm worried about possible flooding.
Thanks!
I moved from 1800 square feet in Burnaby to 2900 square feet in Maple ridge and my power consumption has jumped over 450 kWh I the last billing period (sep 20 to Nov 20). Total of $190 with 1508 kWh usage. Same period last year in the “old” house was 1094 kWh usage for $135.
Both houses have gas heating. Both have all LED lights. One PHEV vehicle so charging is the same more or less. I’m energy conscious so fairly regimented about turning off lights etc. appliances are the same in both places (newer or new energy star) with the exception of 1 additional 4 year old fridge in new place.
Comparison to similar homes nearby on myhydro website shows my usage less than comparison. Plus I don’t want to spend $170 for hydros energy bridge device to find out not much more.
The somewhat useful/useless BC Hydro hydro home app states “everything else” charges of $80 for October while the other usages such as appliances, lights, always on, is $1.50 to $3 per.
Anyway I’d appreciate anyone volunteering their kWh usage and bill amount for the last period September to November for similar home 2400 sq ft to 3000 sq feet here in MR. Please specify main heating if heat pump, electric baseboard or gas. Doesn’t matter if detached or townhome. I just want to compare if I’ve got some source of energy drain in the house or it’s just normal usage.
Looking for a path to run in Maple Ridge
Here are the requirements:
Can be out and back or a loop
Paved or gravel
Minimum 2.5k distance
Flat or gradual elevation
Wide enough so I’m not getting stuck behind walkers
Not right next to a road
Doesn’t go deep into the woods
Kanaka Creek trail near Haney Bypass met most of these requirements except it was kind of narrow and had a lot of walkers. Hoping someone knows a similar spot that is more runner friendly. I haven’t been able to find one yet.
Any tips on where a good lot or farm is near Maple Ridge? Looking for a large tree and the farm we used to go to is not selling this year.

Hi friends! I don’t know if someone already made a post about this, but there are angel trees at london drugs, if your unfamiliar it’s basically a charity for seniors in need around christmas time. they put a couple of basic items (deodorant, toothpaste, shampoo) on a list that then members of our community pick one of those lists, shop around london drugs and give the items to the cashier so they can ensure it gets to those in need. your basically sponsoring a senior in need on Christmas, so please if you have the time and a couple extra dollars to spend , think about helping out. i checked out a couple of the lists yesterday and it seriously couldn’t take more than 20$ to make someone’s christmas 😁
After close to 30 years at Langley Airport, the Canadian Museum of Flight (CMF) has found a new home at Pitt Meadows Regional Airport.
An agreement between the museum and Pitt Meadows Airport Society will see a site made available at the Pitt Meadows airport for a new, bigger museum of more than 10,000 sq. metres, more than four times the size of the just over 2,100 sq. metre hangar space the museum operates in at the Langley airport.
It will take approximately five years to complete the relocation.

Moving to silver valley shortly, purchased a row home and wondering what insurance company people use. The one I have currently has quoted north of 2k which I thought was crazy.. or is that the norm.
Thanks
Where's the Christmas bells that hang on the lamp posts on downtown maple ridge?
Hi everyone, my family and I are moving to Maple Ridge in a couple of months, and we aren't very familiar with the area, so I was hoping to get recommendations from you kind local folks on the best or can't miss places in town. Google reviews can tell you lots but also don't always paint the best picture.
We're moving out from Port Moody, where we've lived for the past 6 years or so. We absolutely love the Tri-Cities area, and while we would've loved to stay there, our growing family priced us out of what was affordable there. While MR is close enough to travel back there for stuff when we want to, it's important to us to make the absolute most of our new city and home!

Lastly, is there anything we should be looking to avoid? Maybe overrated places, or sketchy places? Are there any other things not covered above that you'd recommend we check out?
Are there any local social media groups we should look to be joining, maybe for community building or local events or anything like that?
We're really looking forward to joining the community and making our home in Maple Ridge!
Looks like the entire neighbourhood on River Bend street has listed their home for sale. What do you think they should build here?
Looking for a local spot to take the kids for semi-regular art projects. Small local shops preferably.
Everywhere is like a wait time of two weeks or mediocre reviews.
Thank you in advance.
UPDATE: we wont have this unit but thank you everyone. Hi we are looking to move into a new building near downtown, fraser st between 224 and 225. Ground floor unit which we know comes with risks. We love the location - and we love the idea of maple ridge generally.
We are aware with any downtown means more crime etc. Used to vancouver which has gotten pretty bad (sad)
We would love to just hear some things you like about living downtown ***how prepared security wise we should be ! We dont care to talk bad about homeless and such *** more about legitimate safety concerns
Does anyone know if golden ears park is still closed? And if so when might it be opening again? TYIA
Anything going on over there?
What would be the cost to split my lot, tear down my rancher and build two houses? Of course it would vary by size, but just looking for some rough estimates
