I know there are certain areas of Winnipeg where it’s highly likely that the basement has flooded before. Some have sump pumps and some don’t.
I’m curious about houses in Gimli/Winnipeg Beach area that were built in the 70s or later. Do they have finished basements? Have they likely had overland or back up flooding? Do they tend to have sump pumps or is it hit and miss like Wpg? Do insurance companies provide flood insurance. Are there any planned flood mitigation projects that could increase flooding there? Any water/flood and housing info you have would be greatly appreciated!
Hi! I lived in Manitoba for my whole life, then moved to Alberta for a little over a year before moving back to Manitoba. I have health cards for both provinces, will my Manitoba health card still work in Manitoba now that i'm back, or do I need to apply for a new one? And does the 6 month waiting time before being able to get one still apply if i've already lived here? Thanks.

Truck was stolen Friday around 5pm near Archibauld & Messier. 2006 Ford F150 XLT Supercab 4 wheel drive. Has primer above rear wheel wells.
Please let me know if you see it sitting on your street somewhere in the city or have any sightings!!
Good afternoon! Could you please tell me if there are any clubs in Winnipeg dedicated to solving Rubik's Cubes or other puzzles and brainteasers? I’m currently in St. Boniface but would gladly travel to any part of the city. My 10-year-old son is very passionate about this, and I would love to support his interest. If you know of any resources or tutors who specialize in this, I would be so grateful for your advice. Thank you very much, and wishing you a wonderful day!
Where can I purchase Parols in Winnipeg? I looked at Young Trading, and Seafood City, but I am having no luck.
Good afternoon fellow Manitobans!
This winter I am taking a trip around the province to capture the sights, sounds, and stories around Manitoba's outdoor rinks. The five-episode series will debut later this winter and it's based on my award-winning short film released in 2023.
Send me a message if you have an outdoor hockey story to share!

3 years and 150 million for this bizarre intersection. In order to go North on St Mary's when traveling west on the perimeter, you have to; turn south, drive 1 km, do a U-turn at the roundabout, head North at 60 kmph over the narrow 2 lane overpass, go through another roundabout, drive another km to end up at a stop sign where you turn left to continue onto St Mary's Rd. Money well spent 🤔. St. Anne's next, and there's still a 16 hour wait at the emergency room and we're still number one in child poverty.
Anyone know how to check my police report publicly. Or my police record
I'm just wondering if Winnipeg Transit + is the most incompetent organization in Wpg (besides WRHA Homecare)? If you not ready within 5 mins of them arriving, but they are late, they leave. We have an appointment at HSC and make arrangements with Transit + so that we are home in time for homecare. The will be late 1 hour 45mins. So, not only are they late, but they screw up homecare. I believe that when you're taking care of the most vulnerable people, some compassion and curtesy should be used. The front line workers are great. The schedulers a d customer service are horrible.
Hi everyone,
I’m seeking advice on whether I have grounds to take legal action against my college due to a situation they caused. Here’s what happened:
I enrolled in a 2-year program that was supposed to start in January 2025. However, the college only notified me on November 26 2024 that the program had been canceled. By the time I received this notification, all other schools with similar programs had already closed their application deadlines, leaving me with no option to start my studies in January.
The school offered me two options: 1. Apply to another program for free, but the only available programs start in September 2025; 2. Get a refund of my tuition deposit and application fee. I emailed them to ask if I could transfer to a program starting January 2025, but they completely ignored my email.
This delay has disrupted my entire academic and career plan, forcing me to wait until September 2025 to start any program. Additionally, I’m already in Canada, having paid for airfare, rent, and other expenses in anticipation of starting college in January. Now, I’m stuck with wasted time and significant financial losses directly caused by their late communication.
I want to ask:
Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated. I’m feeling really frustrated and unsure about my options.
Thank you in advance!
I visited my sister in Morden and took this photo on Monday afternoon while returning from Winnipeg.
Edit: I'm on direct deposit. It's not my first month and I did do my paperwork
Edit 2: EIA Manitoba. Not federal ei.
Mine hasn't come yet. I was told it comes three business days before the end of the month.
I'm going to try to call later today but I am having some health difficulties
Does anyone have experience doing working as a fire ranger in Manitoba?
I applied and I’m curious if it’s really competitive to get hired? It would be an awesome job to do next summer.
I have a post secondary education and I’m also currently getting my firefighter level 1 & 2 from a fire academy.
