Sending card to Canada

What do I need postage wise to send a card to Canada from US? Will a Forever Stamp be sufficient? Do they work for international shipping?

Recommendations on Two Way Mailers?

Hi

I'm looking for a dual purpose aka "two way" letter sized envelope, used for shipping CDs + DVDs, but with either a second seal + perforated edge or something that is resealable. I want to be able to send my customers a CD (I know, old school) as cheaply as possible, and then when they are done listening to it, to be able to send it back.

(If you think of an old school netflix mailer - that's basically what I'm looking for.)

I think letter format (as opposed to flat) may save me some money.

This link shows a two way mailer:

https://www.envelopesuperstore.com/6-3-4-dual-purpose-envelopes-24lb-white-wove/sku-46107

(Ideally it would be something where the customer could remove tape + seal vs. needing to lick / wet the edge to seal it though.)

This link shows a company who is sending CDs + DVDs in letter format and have figured out how to avoid the breakage without sending it as a "flat"; unfortunately they don't offer resealing. (See the video)

https://www.wsel.com/products/catalogs-booklets/specialty-catalogs-booklets/ekey-multimedia-cd-dvd-mailer

https://www.wsel.com/videos/ekey

Wondering if anyone would know where I could find such letters/envelopes?

Also, I'd like to keep shipping costs down and also avoid breakage. I assume that if I had a compliant letter sized mailer that this would both 1) have minimal breakage 2) provide the cheapest deliveries 3) provide the fastest delivery times. Is all that correct?

What does a mail sorter do?

What are the responsibilities of a mail sorter?

Do you have to clean bathrooms?

Take out trash?

Is there only part time or can you do full time?

Does my letter come in after I forgot to put the country on it?

Hey I’m from Germany and sent a letter to someone in NYC. I put some pictures of me in and a letter since it was his birthday. I went to the post office with both our addresses on it and said that I’d like to send this to the USA and payed for it and left. Now I’m panicking a little bit cause I forgot to put USA and Germany on it and I’m scared it gets lost. Some people told me that since Bronx, New York is really popular it won’t get lost. But it has been 11 days and it can take up to 14 days but I’m still panicking a little yk, cause there are pictures of me etc. Could it still come in?

Mailroom Lookup HELPER SYSTEM

I worked in the Nexen building mailroom way back (in Calgary). And I always felt useless since it took me a long time to look through a paper printed list of hundreds of names to find out which floor/room someone was in. This simple program would have saved a ton of time. And for cases where there were 2 or more people sorting mail, put one person at a computer and it would sped up the process and having fun screaming out names and floor/room numbers would've been super fun too. Recommendations on mailroom tracking software?

Hey there!

I'm looking to add more robust tracking to a group of multiple mailrooms for a large company operation. Any suggestions?

So far I'm seeing Metafour, Parcel Tracker & Envoy but would prefer some real world recommendations over a web based sales pitch.

2021 Postal Service Reform Act: to "require USPS to continue delivering six days weekly.. will help save the postal service more than $45 billion in next 10-years while improving transparency.. would cut requirement to pre-fund its pension for retirees.. integrate retirees healthcare with Medicare"

https://www.fox17online.com/news/gary-peters-discusses-new-usps-legislation

Peters says these reforms will help save the postal service more than $45 billion in the next 10-years while improving transparency of postal service operations to both customers, and congress.

Sen. Peters added that this is the first major piece of postal legislation in nearly 15 years saying it's long overdue.

He also mentioned he's confident the legislation will get enough votes it already has 10 Republican, and 10 Democratic co-sponsors.

Item missing from mail

My cousin had recently sent me a birthday card. After receiving the card she had asked if I found the pin that she had sent along with it. She was unaware that you are not allowed to send metal pins in regular mail. When I received the card, it was taped shut and then also held shut with a rubber band. There was no note or writing on the envelope to indicate that it was opened by the mail carriers. I'm assuming that the pin was removed from the envelope before it was sent along to me, so I have two questions. First, why wasn't the envelope just sent back to my cousin or why wasn't she notified of the problem? And second, is there any way for me to get that pin? Thanks!

URGENT Question - confusing languag -- "forward mail FROM the following address..."

I have the exact same question as this post.

~~~~
Hi. I am moving and am trying to do a change of address form. I got it at my old address. It says “the Postal Service has received a change-of-address order asking us to forward mail FROM the following address for: (name and old address)”
Bear with me... does this mean they are forwarding mail from my old address listed there to my new one? Or from my new one to my old one? I want to make sure they didn’t screw it up.
-------
The language of this is confusing. Someone [who I unfortunately know]'s name is beneath the red line, but MY address is there. Is this person trying to MAIL THEIR MAIL to my address, or are they trying to get MY MAIL SENT TO THEIR HOUSE?
[Also, how did this happen, and how can I ensure that this is stopped and immediately?
Forgot to put by air mail on letter from UK to Canada
Will this affect how long it takes the letter to get there or will they just add it on once it gets to the post office (put it in a post box, btw)
What to do about a missing package that says delivered?
First, here is what I've already done.
  1. I found out my package was missing (delivered according to USPS tracking)
  2. Waited a day in case it was some error from the mail person
  3. Nothing arrived on the third day, so I file a Help Request Form online
  4. Receive a response from USPS
Here is where I am right now. The email from customer service says among other stuff that is irrelevant for this question, "The Package was delivered. You should go online to file a claim." But on the USPS website says that ONLY when the package is delivered but damaged (or is missing stuff) a claim can be filed immediately, or if the package never arrived I need to wait at least 15 days from the mailing date (for my type of mail).
I received the shipping email from the vendor of my package on February 5, so that means that 15 days have not passed yet. However, I'm totally confused about which category I fall in. I have no package in my possession, but as far as USPS system is concerned that package was delivered. So should I wait another 5 days or just file a claim as the person from customer service said.
EDIT: I just want to add another question. Is it my responsibility to do this anyway? I just realized that USPS asks for proof of insured package, but that is something that only the seller would have??
Just some extra details, my package is Priority Mail and is insured. Also the day the package arrived on February 6, I was home but didn't have view of the outside so I can't tell if the mail person was ever there or not, but according to USPS tracking it arrived at 4:40 pm. When I checked on the website it was 4:55 time at which I immediately went outside to check, so I highly doubt that somebody stole it.
My mail carrier stopped delivering my mail
I could file a USPS complaint but is there another way to catch him? The last thing I want to do is piss him off by getting him in trouble. The only thing I did out of the ordinary was give him a tip for Christmas because maybe he wants more.
I’m certain he is not delivering my mail because someone sent me a certified letter and it has disappeared and also because I have stopped receiving any mail at all.
I thought about sending myself 5 or ten letters and video tape myself putting them either on my own mailbox in a public one.
Or what could I say to him to make him stop? Remember that he is in charge of my mail.
Any suggestions?
Will USPS always ship bulky envelopes as long as you have enough stamps?
Like, if you stuff an envelope so much that it almost looks like a ball but you put enough stamps for the weight.
How to send a Bubbler Mailer
I want to send a couple of bubbler mailers (6in x9 in and like a cm thick), and I'm not sure if I can just put some stamps on it and out it in my mail box or if I need to take them to a post office? How many stamps would I need to put on one?
What is the most cost efficient way to send these things?
So, I’m going to be needing to send a vinyl record as well as 2 posters (18x24) by mail. I have a tube that one of the posters can go in but not for the other. I was curious of instead of sending a poster and record, then another poster separately, I feel that it’s smarter to get an incredibly thin box which is long/wide enough for the posters and send them flat with the record also in the box.
My only problem with sending them flat is I’m worried that this would be too fragile and posters will get bent/the record may break during shipping. Is this a legitimate concern? If not, is this how I should ship them? Again, what is the most cost efficient way and safest way?
Also with cost efficiency and the handling of the package, I’m curious to your opinions on which company I should choose to send it. Either the Post Office, UPS, or FedEx; and also let me know if there is one I should definitely NOT use.
Thanks everyone for the help!!
Can I mail a fabric/felt envelope?
Hi! I'm working on a creative project where I want to send invitations using fabric/felt envelopes. Would the USPS take them if they are thin enough/have a legible address/have stamps on them? Thanks!
