New gameplay video since the Grief banning with an Orzhov Energy shell. Threw in an infinite combo with Gravecrawler, Marionette Apprentice, and Warren Soultrader into the white energy aggro shell of Guide of Souls and Ocelot Pride. Meta was more combo centric than I was anticipating but the deck still felt good despite an medicore performance. Definitely felt better against blue temp/control/midrange decks but just didn't run into them. Thanks in advance for watching and any feed back.
Hello, I play Magic on Arena and I have started also building my own decks on Pauper.
However, I'd like to have some casual play with friends that don't know how to play Magic.
Are the Bloomburrow Starter Kit decks good? Are they balanced?
The first part of the text for [Entish Restoration] states that you must sacrifice a land, which got me thinking. Can you sacrifice a fetch land, like [Evolving Wilds], and in response trigger the sacrifice to fetch a basic land, with Entish Restoration still on the stack?
I'm relatively new to Magic so would appreciate feedback from those who are much more wise than I.
TIA.
I am recreating my magic arena decks for IRL, family and friends to play in Timeless, Just for fun, but i want the decks to be kinda balanced around each other. and fun tribally. So banned cards or out of rotation doesnt matter at all!
Here is the Werewolf Deck:

This is the Bunny Meta Deck:
https://aetherhub.com/Metagame/Standard-BO1/Deck/selesnya-1082930
Will the Bunny deck crush it?
And can we upgrade the Werewolf deck? there are a few things i dont like.
I hate the look of the card "Reckless Stormseeker" is there a way to replace it? The haste is just so great. there has to be some cool werewolf that came out that is better. pls.
Also, would Avabruck Caretaker replace "Tovolar's Huntsmaster"? I heard Caretaker is an amazing werewolf card and she looks awesome!
And do we want to put "Hollowhenge Overlord" into the deck? people say its one of the best werewolf/wolf cards.
And yeah, Arlinn stays, she is just cool.
Hey all! Had the following situation happen in a game earlier tonight and me and my friend weren’t sure what should happen. Here’s the sequence:
So… does Comet deal any damage? My friend and I weren’t 100% sure. One of us thought nothing happened, since he wasn’t on the board any longer. The other person thought that, since he changed zones, the effect used Last Known Information and would deal 5 damage. It’s fuzzy because the resolution of Comet’s ability doesn’t use the stack or target, it just happens. Also something like an Overwhelming Stampede, for instance, checks for the value of X on resolution, not when you cast it.
Who’s right? When does LKI apply in situations like this?

We encourage that you post any questions that you may have concerning Magic the Gathering here rather than make a separate thread for each question, though for now we won't require that you do so.

Deckbuilding Questions
If you're trying to get help with a deck, it is recommended that you post your decklist to a deckbuilding website so that it is easier to view. Some popular sites are Aetherhub, Archidekt, Deckbox, Deckstats, Moxfield, MtgGoldfish, and TappedOut.
Additionally, please include some description of what you are trying to accomplish. Don't just give us a decklist with no explanation, and don't ask extremely vague questions such as "what cards should I add to my deck to make it better?", because it's hard to give good advice in those cases. Let us know details, the more the better. Are you building with a particular strategy or theme in mind? Are there any non-obvious combo lines or synergies that people should be aware of? Are you struggling with a particular matchup, or are you finding yourself missing consistency in an important area, and need some help specifically for it? Let us know.
Commonly Asked Questions
I opened a card from a different set in my booster pack, is this unusual?
Don't worry, this is completely normal. If you opened a set booster, you have a small chance of obtaining a bonus card from a previous set. This is an extra card that does not replace any of the other cards in your pack, and is from a curated set of past hits that Wizards of the Coast has selected, which they call "The List".
You can view the contents of The List on Wizards of the Coast's official website. For example, the contents of The List for Streets of New Capenna boosters can be found here.
My foil card has a shooting start symbol over the bottom left. I can't find anything about it online.
All old-bordered foils have the shooting star symbol. Most sites that display card images just overlay a generic foil graphic over all foil cards, which doesn't include the shooting star. Your card is normal.
I really like telepathy card, but it is too aggressive and makes commander not fun when playing with a group of people. So it would be much better if there are cards like telepathy that allows me to look at the top card of opponents' library. I know many cards that allow me to look at mine, but not the opponents.
Through a series of events starting from an earthquake causing a forced relocation, I have not had a MTG collection for a number of years. This is something I am interested in looking into getting back into but finding it a bit overwhelming with all the sets that are available. What is a good starter set to look into getting? I know that there is a new release coming in a few weeks is it better to wait for this or are there other sets that I should consider first?
As the title suggests we didn't get any spoilers yesterday, hopefully people will just start dumping leaks 😅 Anyone know why they didn't do any of the daily drops yesterday?
Im a huge fan of any sort of enchantment deck so after the reveal of [[Aminatou, Veil Piercer]] I've immediately began theroy crafting a decklist for her.
The big thing I want to focus on is obviously the mirical casting of enchantments and the best way I can think of is with off turn card draw allowing me to miracle on my opponents turns and hopefully get 3-4 big enchantments out for cheap during a full turn cycle.
Some of the obvious ones that I've thought of are [[Rhystic Study]] [[Mystic Rhemora]] [[Trouble in Pairs]] [[Smugglers share]] [[Greed]]
I can think of a couple of others like [[vampiric rites]] but I imagine it will be difficult to have enough creatures to keep that engine fueled and use consistantly.
My question is are there any other great cards that can trigger at least 1 draw on each players turn consitantly? Enchantments would be a bonus to enable other enchantment synergies and being able to miracle them too if they get top decked but any ideas to keep the wheels spinning would be great!
we will be returning to lorwyn/shadowmoor late 2025 and its been a decent amount of years canonically and much like kamigawa wotc seems to be planning to revamp lorwyn in the same way they revamped kamigawa"bring back all the things you love about the original world but find new twits on it and bring a new sensibility to the world" i'm curious to see what you all think the plane will be like now, in terms of mechanics i think we will see a lot of kindred spells and changeling cards, with a focus on creatures for the set. but more excitingly (imo) i'm curious to see the new aesthetic, my current biggest theory is a solorpunk world with a murky dark polluted inverse for shadowmoor.
…Only so that we can have a casino-themed set and they can put “The House always wins” in the flavor text.
I recently started playing an Azorius Artifacts deck in Standard that I remember having a decent amount of game before rotation, and seems to be doing pretty well after rotation as well. The list looks like this,
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/R593WG_Bt0Kkc0mNyOAZ6w
Does anyone have any idea if there is a discord dedicated to the deck? Or any strategy primers or guides that would be helpful in piloting the deck?
If your target creature now has death touch and also has menace, does the defender have to defend with two creatures?
So hypothetically if your commander was something similar to Abyssal Gatekeeper the effect would still happen, even though the commander goes back to the command zone. He still hits the graveyard first?
I have never played Commander but a few friends are into it and I'm curious about some more situational rules. I am aware that Abyssal Gatekeeper is not legendary.
can someone help me understand how this card works I'm a returning player. I don't understand the play exiled cards part how it works? I confused.
i'm relatively still new to magic and im modifying this dr who deck, I'd like to make sure that my understanding of this sequence of events would be correct
Here is the situation I'm thinking of:
In your opinions, is that a viable strategy for this kind of deck?
The deck: https://archidekt.com/decks/9031026/tenth_doctor_burns_everything
The pod im in has an agreed upon rule that no extra turn cards are allowed, I didnt really see that minor detail until I had finished tweaking the deck lol... So, i'm wondering if worldfire can still somehow work, I really like the idea of it, seems like a cool way to end the game if i can pull it off. I've removed 3x cards that give me extra turns and replaced them with instants with protection and some more ramp.
I just started playing with this removal focused deck with [[Vren, the Relentless]] at commander. What would you do to clean it up and make it run a little smoother?
First off I’m new here, haven’t really played MTG since 2016. Oddly enough I have this “Altered Ego” that has “2-3 April 2016” stamped in the corner of the picture. Does anyone know what it is/means?
If I block with a creature that would die can I then sacrifice it using martyr's curse to prevent another attacker from dealing damage to my health?
