I've read on some sites that there supposedly would be a reprint of the Commander Decks end of January/start of February. Is there any confirmed information on that matter?
I play mostly arena nowadays. I can get mythic in one sitting pretty easy with RDW but can't seem to get above 50th rank
Esper pixies is everywhere, and eats red deck alive. There any SB tech I'm overlooking? Most the enchantments do their damage when they enter so even a green splash for enchantment removal would only help against [[sheltered by ghosts]]
The omniscience deck is great too, but spell pierce is coming to save the day and keep that deck better in check. Esper pixies is my nemesis though... What does that deck even lose to?
Also is there any content creators out there who specialize in playing red in standard? I can't find anything like that, would help for inspiration. If it doesn't exist I should maybe make a RDW channel
This card seems super good but compared to so many cards even cards at similar price value I never seen or heard anyone really talk about just how good this card can be in many decks why is that exactly?
Good afternoon community,
Has anyone from Portugal already sent cards to PSA for evaluation and grading?
According to what I've read, PSA either exists in America or now in the UK in partnership with Dave & Adam's, but shipments to the UK are now subject to customs duties.
Anyone who's done it and can comment on their experience?
So like in most pods, games at my lgs are pretty casual and if someone misses a trigger they usually can just ask the table and everyone's like, yeah sure w/e its fine" or if someone taps a land for a spell and they wanted to tap a different land, same thing yeah its fine w/e.
Ward:
but i have noticed alot of the time when someone goes to target something with ward, this scenario happens.
They cast a removal spell, targeting something with ward, didn't realize it had ward, then back out the entire spell and do something else.
I feel like this completely invalidates wards ability though and it makes card with ward kind of pointless, yes they still dont target it, which is i guess protection... but not exactly how its supposed to work. Its become so bad that iv had multiple conversations with people about ward and how if you target it, and you cant pay the ward at the time of target, it gets countered and that's it, you should pay attention to the board state more.
There is a fine line between being "that guy" with regards to enforcing the rules though and yeah its a casual game but at a certain point there needs to be a line drawn in the sand otherwise it just reinforces sloppy play overall.
Pact:
I have noticed this with anyone who plays pact spells, mainly pact of negation. They cast it and counter w/e, then go untap upkeep draw, then usually in main 1 they realize "o i forgot to pay my pact, ill pay that right now" and iv never really seen people bitch to much about that, but it got me thinking that that player just saw an extra card, a card that can change the way they would tap the mana if they were color locked and could either leave a blue or white open after paying the pact, but now they see they have a spell to cast for blue, so they opt to leave that blue open now. Or if they have treasure and they draw a spell they could of only casted if they use treasures to pay the pact, again information they should not have gotten.
Iv asked people about this and here is what most people say
both of these are usually prefaced with, if you need to win through a "gotcha" you need the win more than they do so maybe casual commander is not really the place for that question. Which i find fucking wrong, its not a gotcha its literally the rules...but w/e.
The way iv decided to proceed with both of these in my pods moving forward is
Ward: if they cant pay the ward, no takebacks, sorry you should pay more attention to what your doing. It comes off as kind a dick move, maybe but that's the way you learn, i remember taping out to kill something only to find out it had ward, then i died because of it, made me a better, more attentive player long run, why should i encourage sloppy game play.
Pact: When they cast the pact i outright exclaim, yeah that happens, but if you dont pay that pact on upkeep before draw you will loose the game. Then recommend they put the pact on top of their library to remind them to pay it before draw, similar to rebound mechanic. Then weather or not they put it on top is irrelevant, but if they draw a card, they are out the game. Again makes it sound kind of dickish, but if your running a card like pact you should know how it works. You get the power of an unconditional counterspell for free so you should know how it works, and i physically reminded you this would happen if its not paid, so i mean at that point you have no excuse.
What are peoples thoughts on this, i feel like my end result is fair but want to get peoples opinion
I love the card ensnared by the Mara and I am looking to abuse it by casting the most copies possible. What should I do to make this dream happen?
He seems to be a mummy in this new precon and was wondering if he’s of Egyptian descent? I really love hieroglyphics, Egypts history and the pharaohs so I wanted something I can connect with. I’m guessing he is indeed a mummy as well
Hi guys! I'm just hoping for a second opinion on my deck. Since Aristocrats need 3 pieces to be active I have in 4 tutors to search for missing pieces and get my engine online asap (or worst case just grab a counterspell for protection if I already have everything).
I'm considering cutting imperial recruiter, for Flare of Malice (more removal) or Smothering Abomination (more card draw) and rn I'm leaning towards Flare of Malice. Any thoughts on the right swap, or should I just keep Imperial recruiter in since it's recurable and can tutor all 3 engine pieces. The idea of having tons of tutors doesn't bother me or my playgroup, I just want the deck to be optimal wether that means keeping it or swapping. Thanks you guys!! Rock on

I play MTG Standart with my friends, we dont have any rules like certian sets or so, just playing for fun. i already modified a Rakdos deck a little, but i dont have the card knowledge to complete it maybe some of u have any ideas: https://mtgdecks.net/Standard/rakdos-decklist-by-c95a7109335ed44b3244ccba74f91a50-2361968 . PS: i also dont want to spend a fortune so cheap cards are good.
Hey all, I’m new to playing and got my first pack of dragon shield mattes (aurora color) about a month ago. After just a couple weeks of use, a lot of the sleeves started splitting along the bottom, and I’ve had to discard six of them now. At least 5 sleeves in the pack also had a big crimp mark in the top left corner right upon opening, so I had to discard those right off the bat since they made my cards look marked. The crimping was an obvious manufacturing error, but is the splitting with average play normal? I’m extremely slow and careful with shuffling since I’m still learning to mash shuffle well, but the edges catch really easily and I think that’s causing the splitting on sleeves that seem to be just barely pressed together at the bottom.
How often do dragon shields split like that? Is it normal to just discard and replace a handful of sleeves after a big handful of games, or should I bring them back to my lgs at this point? Thanks for the help!
I recently starting playing mtg online as a way to learn the game. I plan on playing at a nearby store here soon, but really wanted to get a general idea of how the game works beforehand so it would be a little easier.
The only issue is that there are so many cards that it started me with and being new to the game, I have no idea where to start.
Is there anyone here that has just, a general format to how you build your decks? If so than I can at least start there and expand on it, but as if now I’m just overwhelmed.
What would the most powerful strategy be if losing won you the game (without concession)
Hello all! I recently decided to turn a hobby into a business. I created Cardboard Club, where we live sell Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, and anything cardboard-related. I have started my journey on Whatnot, and have had success in my first month but am struggling to keep inventory.
I’m looking for ways to secure bulk inventory at competitive prices, and I’d love to see if there’s an opportunity to work with stores/distros/vendors.
I totally understand that many suppliers focus on bigger accounts, but I’m serious about scaling and would love to start a conversation to see what’s possible. DM me and I’d love to chat!
I'd like to acquire one of every common from the last few years but the thought of trying to do that in tcgplayer makes my hands hurt in anticipation. I tried exporting scryfall common lists per set as csv via api and inputting to tcgplayer bulk but it didn't work that well and at high high numbers the optimize breaks (has to be only a couple stores or shipping is wayyyyyyyy high). Do I just try to find someone who just opens a booster+ of every set who wants to offload one of each common?
So tonight my opponent attacked me with [[Tyrant's Familiar]].
I had [[Bruna, Light of Alabaster]] with a [[Gift of Immortality]]
This is how it played out.
They chose to deal the 7 to Bruna. So it died.
I said bruna returns to the battlefield, so it can then block the dragon... and when bruna blocks I can return gift from my graveyard onto bruna again. I got a little push back but ultimately we decided this was correct.
Did we do this right? How quickly does the creature enchanted by the gift return? And... is gift in my graveyard while it's waiting for end step?
If a card with "Destroy Target Creature" is cast on Bloatfly Swarm, do the rads still get released onto the opponent players?
Sorry if this is a silly question but I can't find a clear answer anywhere.
Let's say I reconfigure my ((Lizard Blades)) onto a ((MIrror-Shield Hoplite)).
Is the hoplite considered "Modified" for the effect of ((Thundering Raijuu))?
Hi! I was wondering if anyone knows any spots in Tokyo or Kyoto to find magic cards!
Hello everyone, long time lurker and player.
I am wondering if anyone has come across this specific issue.
Typically when I buy Katanas, they come in a little white box with 2 separate plastic packages of 50 sleeves respectively. It’s been this way for the last 5 years I’ve used them.
However over the course of the last few months I’ve bought two that have all the sleeves shoved into one plastic package.
Normally I wouldn’t think twice about it if the quality was the same, but both of these packs have been trash quality sleeves, extremely rigid & the only time I’ve ever had a “katana” split on me.
Does anyone have any idea of this? Do we know if there are fraudulent ones being produced? For context I’m on east coast USA.
Heya,
so I bought Endless Punishment precon at release as my 1st commander deck, loved the group slug theme and upgraded it quite heavily at this point (changed more than half of the deck).
I focused mostly on group slug and damage doublers that help me drain everyone much faster, while growing my commander but also being able to do something if he gets removed.
I wanted to ask for some feedback on my deck.
I really love the deck and feel like my card sellection is kinda good and fun, especially that the deck functions even without the commander on the board.
How do you think it turned overall? What do you think it lacks? What would you change to make it better/more consistent/stronger?
Here's the decklist, thanks for help and cheers!

Just curious if this is the first time? It’s the first time I’ve ever seen it
First Magic Con. Just wondering why I was sent 2x badges.
Hello! I do $50 commander challenges with my play group and this cycle is “Heroes and Villains”. Id like to choose an iconic hero but im noticing most of magics iconic heroes are planeswalkers….
Im looking for advice on a “hero” in the MTG property that would make for an interesting deck building challenge! We could rule zero a planeswalker but I am really looking to keep this 100% legal and choose a commander legal hero.
I’m building set cubes based off the coolest planes in Magic history. I already have an Innistrad block cube, what are some set blocks from the game with the strongest flavor, characters, thematics, locations, and artwork?
