Hello! I'd love to hear about fun midrange decks y'all are playing, since I'm always seeking to build new decks. Creature-based strategies only, please. No control or combo. Power level doesn't matter. Thanks!
Innkeeper's Talent is level 3. He did not have 2B mana to pay for the full cost of Vraska, so he paid with 2life, meaning Vraska enters with 2 loyalty counters less, which is 4. Talent will double that amount, so it's 8. How come his Vraska entered with 5 counters + 5 from the talent?
I've been playing in MTG Arena since Guilds of Ravnica, and this is the first time i see this
Normally if you get a disconnect, you have some time to go back in. You could even restart the client, and join back in. But today for the first time, it just kicks me out in the middle of random matches
That's it. It's like I pressed the Concede Button. The match is done jsut because. Anyone else having this issue today?
Step 1 Pick traditional cube draft Step 2 Force blue Step 3 Claim
Black discard is a control deck. Make you discard or exile all, play your threat. Counter and exile all opponents stuff, play your threat. Beantstalk....counter/destroy/exile opponents threats until you draw enough to play a big threat....demir demons is the same. I could go on with aggro.
If your game plan is to remove in some way all your opponents tactics through removal and counters, than play your win con, is that not simply control? Otherwise its aggro.
I see people talking about "midrange" decks they have when all they are is control but not focusing on counters. Again, if your whole gameplan is to remove all your opponents stuff until you can get out your one or two threats safely, regardless of color, aren't you all playing control right now?
Hi all !
I'm relatively new to magic and have a question.
I have just see that there is some "Champion deck" to buy for gems in the store.
Like Standard reanimator for 8280 gems or Mid-range black for 4020 gems.
Is it worth it to buy for me, as i don't own any of those card (just have one occulus) ? Wildcard seem so precious that i don't know if it's better to buy that or not AT all
Thx guys !!! :)
Tried cube for the first time and first 3 picks I got were all Liliana, starting with Veil. Safe to say I went black and just splashed some white control. 5-2 so far. Thought it was a pretty funny way to start my draft.
So I am new to the game and I want to improve at drafting so I can collect most of the cards from a set. And get as many wins as I can to rinse and repeat. Pls provide some useful tips for me. Thank You in advance.
I’ve really been missing playing commander, so I figured id build an Arabella brawl deck to satiate my appetitive, but every deck I’ve played against is just some variation of removals and sweepers with a slightly different theme each time. I’m not complaining or anything, but i just noticed that pretty much all the decks are some form of control. Again, not complaining this is just a genuine meta question
'Magic bleeds into real life. With Magic, I was mainly being driven by the idea that, if people could collect their own cards, there would be a huge amount of variety to the game. In fact, one way I viewed it was that it was like designing a game for a vast audience, dealing out the cards to everybody instead of designing a bunch of little games.' - Richard Garfield, Creator of Magic: The Gathering

I'm sure people have complained about this, but it's honestly insane how awful the win rewards are.
As the mastery pass is coming to a close, I find myself having to "grind" for the final few. I'm at the point where I need to gain 1 level per day. "That's easy" I think. "I'm sure Ive done it all the time!". I just played, and got 5 wins and completed a 500 XP daily (I know I'm supposed to reroll them until I get a 750, but my luck is bad and I've had it where I have 3 500s so I'd rather get something than nothing) and I was shocked to see that I only got 750XP.
Why are the rewards so low? I know arena does this insane progressive decline in rewards, but it's crazy that you get so little rewards for winning.
During my last game, I had a rather hilarious interaction between my U flash counter deck and my opponent's heist deck that I felt like sharing with you all.
They were down to only one heisted card and one card in hand, when the following sequence occurred:
Is there any other scenario in which one card can counter its own effect, or is this the only possibility?
It started about 2 days ago. If I drop a Room enchantment onto the battlefield, after that any time I move my mouse I hear the loud bang and key-jingle that plays when the Room first arrived. It's not game breaking but really annoying and so far I haven't found any fix.
I'm on Windows on a desktop.
How much do you guys have you saved up for foundations?
I'll start 12k gold 5k gems. And I pre-ordered the pass.
Now that the entire set has been revealed, do y'all like it? Not like it? I'd love to hear thoughts.
Broken since mid October.

I just want to know the next freaking MWM and the next QD change without scrolling through the annoucements.
How hard can it be to fix this?
Hi all,
I've played Magic on and off throughout the years. I started when it was first released, played through most of the 90's, played a bit during Ikoria and now I've gotten back into it with my g/f. I've built a "Second spell" red and blue deck in arena, and I'm frustrated with how often I'm losing, even in just Standard play in Arena. Any insight you can offer would be so very much appreciated :)
Edit: I'm such a dumb idiot. I didn't include all my 2 cost cards in my first screenshot.
Thank you.
Looking ahead to Standard in 2025 I came up with these numbers. For me personally, with each set I buy the pre-order bundles as they are good value as well as a 45 pack bundle as well. After drafts and opening my packs I usually have a playset of rares (using some wild cards) and a good chunk of Mythic playsets as well. This allows me to play just about anything I want to first and foremost have fun and second be competitive.
To just get the bundles for standard next year with 6 set releases will cost $539.82 ( $49.99 +$24.99 + $14.99 = $89.97 x 6 sets) plus any applicable tax. In my case adding the 45 pack bundle ( costs 9,000 gems and it’s $49.99 for 9,200 gems) each set brings the total to $839.76, and after taxes it’s right at $900.
What is everyone’s thoughts on the cost of Arena Standard going forward? Do you scale back on purchases or only buy into sets that will have up grades for your decks? Also this cost doesn’t reflect any additional sets for the other formats.(Timeless, Explorer or Historic) which I believe will have some additions for them as well.
I play on a 32 UltraWide The game even if "fullscreen" is selected always reverts to windowed mode. I have to Alt+ enter Each time i find a match to go fullscreen.. Any fix for this? This is super annoying..
