Hi guys
Really new to arena and the mid week magic thing is brawl which apart from the NPE i have never played before does anyone have some simple budget deck lists for this please that i might have the cards for.
Cheers
Raven
Why are we allowing the blatant manipulation of matchmaking AND card draw algos to continue? Especially now that card weight stats have become easily exploitable esoteric knowledge? The entire design of the game suffers because theres a very unscrupulous financial element behind it all. One that attempts to constantly make your deck feel inadequate in order to encourage microtransactions that only marginally speed up progression. Im done playing your game wizards... please end this outrageous manipulation immediately! I will not spend another penny on your products until then. And I call upon other players to do the same 🗣
Not much of a Brawl guy, but it seems poison is kind of busted in Brawl? Made a deck with Fynn and got my wins pretty easily, but I'm sure there are more fun decks than mine.
What did you use, or are going to use for this MWM?
If you run a white deck, why don’t you use charming prince? I think it might be my favorite two mana creature.
i kind of get it for graveyard based decks but why do people use it in decks that have nothing to do with graveyards
i play very casually so sorry if theres a really obvious answer to this🙏
Always funny for me when I get this combo
I was just wondering how fast i can grind it.
there is another forms of XP gain?
I just logged on and under the Foundations Limited section the only format available is Sealed, I had a Premier Draft currently in progress but that shouldn't have ended till the end of the mastery pass I thought. Bugged or is the event ending early?
This is the best reprint by far from Foundations, what can I do with them without spending a ton of WCs, basically already existing decks?
I slotted in pretty much all decks I had using green. It works on some better than others lol. Golgari Demons and Golgari Vraska combo, Simic Cookies, Simic Terror, Selesnya Enchantments.
Willing to try some oldschool Gruul smash with it, is it any good (and cheap WC wise?) Don't really like that 4 different card types mechanic, is there any other viable?
As you can see, "ascending win rate order" doesn't mean what they think it means. Does everyone have this problem? Is there a way to resolve it?
What would be the ideal number of lands in this deck and which (rare/dual) ones should I put in? I don't mind crafting them. Thanks in advance!
First off, I imagine this card/accompanying strategy really suffers in BO3 with graveyard hate in sideboards. That said, I’ve been running into it a ton on the BO1 ladder, and it feels pretty strong when I do.
Mostly I’ve seen the Orzhov version with all the little guys that ping you to death when they enter, but I was thinking GW ramp with tons of strong 2cmc guys and also mana dorks to ramp into cards like [[valkyrie’s call]] might be a fun version of the strategy, albeit probably not as strong.
Was there a streamer who made a deck with this card recently or something? I’ve been seeing it a lot. Anyone play with this and figure out anything cool?
I have no experience with Sealed, but since I had a few extra gems, I decided to try my hand at it today. The rares I got were 2x [[Day of Judgement]], 1x [[Giada]], 1x [[Homunculus Horde]], 1x [[Archmage of Runes]], 1x [[Electroduplicate]], and 1x [[Elvish Archdruid]].
Maybe some kind of simic elf/landfall deck might work (since there's Tatyova, Elfsworn giant, and a dual land)? I considered izzet, but the red pile seems to be leaning more towards goblins, which makes me doubtful. Should I look at some kind of azorius/dimir tempo deck?
Any advice is appreciated.
I created this deck a long time ago. This card isn’t in it now, and I don’t remember this art from anything that’s been in the deck before. I like the art. What’s the card?
After playing around 35 rounds, I don't have nearly half of the cards in it.
There are "new to arena" cards that you can't have unless you spend wildcards on them, playable competitive cards like godsent.
There is a gap between arena packs and physical packs. Some were compensated, but others didn't.
Support can't add the cards to your collection, they can only refund the entry cost.
Can we get the cards that are missing from physical packs?
Can we get the unobtainable cards (only craftable with wildcards)?
Hello,
I'm kind of new to arena and mtg in general.
I tried to play some standard ranked recently and created an elf deck (black/green). I did not have enough to put all the copies of cards I wanted, but I still think it turned out great.
The strategy is to ramp a lot, buff my elves and cast Genesis Wave.
However I am getting completely wrecked by other deck which seem to be a lot faster than mine.
Some examples:
- Blue/white deck summoned a 5/5 flier turn one completely stomped me.
- Red aggro I expect aggro decks to be fast, it is just the sheer number I meet is crazy I think it is about 50% of my matches.
- Black/ some other colors (I cant remember). Controls a lot of the board and spawns some demons from an enchantment, seems very popular aswell.
I have a hard time winning so I think I need some help.
Are there any tips from better players, like what do I keep in my hand or something like that.
I am trying to be better at the game, I understand I can't win every time.
Sorry for the long post, and thanks in advance :)
Now to try and maintain it..
As far as scryfall is concerned all the cards in PIO are reprints. That is of course true for Magic as a whole, but not for Arena. Is the a search term for cards that are new to Arena?
I haven't been playing Arena for a while now, between alchemy existing and how new sets are evolving I really lost any interest, but 4c Rally with baby Jace was the first competitive deck I ever played and I would love to play it again, even in digital format.
I don't care too much about competitivness in arena and it's not even about that exact deck, in fact I expect there must have been a bunch of great options added in the last 7 years, but something I don't want is to play against Alchemy trash, I'm a bit out of the loop but I think PIO is going to be legal in Explorer, so that's the format for me? Anything else?
Thanks!
This deck began years ago as a deck trying to stack curses on the opponent. After a while it shifted more to a deck that would sacrifice its creatures for effect. It is my go to deck when I want to finish a daily quest for black casts.
It tends to work pretty decent, but I am sure a more capable player could give some ideas for improvement without sacrificing (badum-ts) its identity and going full meta.
Deck
Creatures:
4 [[Greedy Freebooter]] (LCI) 109
3 [[Persistent Specimen]] (VOW) 125
4 [[Shambling Ghast]] (AFR) 119
2 [[Ayara, First of Locthwain]] (ELD) 75
3 [[Hobbling Zombie]] (MID) 106
3 [[Dreadfeast Demon]] (VOW) 108
Instant and Sorceries
2 [[Deadly Dispute]] (AFR) 94
3 [[Eaten Alive]] (MID) 99
2 [[Beseech the Mirror]] (WOE) 82
2 [[Sheoldred's Edict]] (ONE) 108
Enchantments
2 [[Vampiric Rites]] (WOT) 37
2 [[Grave Pact]] (WOT) 29
2 [[Open the Graves]] (M19) 112
2 [[Oversold Cemetery]] (WOT) 33
Planeswalkers
2 [[Liliana, Dreadhorde General]] (WAR) 97
Lands
22 Swamp (VOW) 400
I tend to survive long enough at the start due to cheap blockers with value on death.
Once the enchantments start rolling out things usually are over, as [[Grave Pact]] and [[Open the Graves]], comboed with Ayara or Dreadfeast start to take their toll.
One of the cards I seem to get the least value out off is [[Beseech the Mirror]] tho it did come in clutch quite a few times to get me [[Eaten Alive]].
Please share your ideas on how to get more out of this already decently performing deck.
I bought 45 packs of Foundation when it came out, and I'm almost back to 45k gold again, which made me wonder what set I should buy from when I get there.
I know you're supposed to buy Standard legal sets to get Gold Packs, in which case I think I'd buy Bloomburrow since I liked the art and flavour the best, but is there a set that's considered really powerful and a good buy?
I also want to make a bunch of Lord of the Rings decks for Brawl, would it be dumb to buy 45 packs of that set, since I wouldn't get Gold Packs?
Keaneoftherings, I apologize that my deck and your deck played out the way that they did. I thought I was going to be gone from slowly carving my health down because you would have sent token rabbits through after paying the mana (which is what I would have done) from Angel of the Tithes. I am surprised you didn't.
