I recently found my old MacBook that I bought before covid. I was going to give it to my brother as a school laptop however when downloading or updating it always asks for the administrator username and password which I have completely forgot. I attempted to reset the password by using the command r promt while restarting and then into terminal. This also didn’t work and I was given this screen while trying to login with my new password. I would greatly appreciate if someone would help.

Please someone help me I’ve been all around my head with this machine it’s a MacBook a107 I think or something like that it was sitting at the bottom of my cupboard not touched in years all is good aesthetically but I didn’t turn on I opened it and I saw this (I charged it all day and nothing happened )

Hello, my macbook pro was in my bag and overheated. I let it cool down and now it's not opening. There is nothing on the screen only noise from speakers for 1 second.

What I tried, Cooling down Unplug, Holding shift control option for 10 seconds, plug Hold power 10 seconds

Nothing changed. What can I do?

So I just opened my office MacBook Pro and the keyboard lights up but the screen is black.Then it automatically just starts restarting , I can say that because the apple chime plays again and again.I am unable to stop this loop no matter what I press or hold. Please provide me some idea on what I can do to atleast stop the loop and then take it to IT later.

Hello, I found a used macbook pro m1 2020 in facebook market place for only $400. The issue is when the macbook is plugged in, it will turn on, you can disconnect it after and use it normally.

But if the macbook is not plugged in, it will not turn on. It has 52 cycle counts and 100% battery capacity (maybe it is fake stats).

Should I buy this? Or find another deal?

Two weeks ago I had the battery replaced by Apple on my 2017 MacBook Pro. Yesterday smoke came out by the hinge and the screen went black. It’s in with Apple again for investigation and repair and while doing my intake the Apple rep asked me the color of the smoke - white, grey, black. It was grey and I’m just so very curious what the different colors would indicate. Presumably I’ll get the answer to what’s actually going next week but wondering if anyone is knowledgeable about the colors of smoke to quench my general curiosity.

My computer won’t reboot , and is asking me to flip the switch on the side, even though there is not one there. Does anybody know what’s happening to it?

I’ve had my MacBook Air 2020 since I bought it new back when I first started college. Recently when I would restart or do a shut down this long thing appears in the upper left corner. I’m not sure if it’s something that I should contact Apple with or it is something that I don’t really need to worry about ? Or if anyone has had that happen to their laptop.

Hi, my MacBook’s keyboard and trackpad stops working (the lights from the keyboard closes and the trackpad isn’t activated anymore, but the screen is still on, so if I watch something it will keep on playing but I can’t do anything). It freezes at random moments and the only way to deal with it is by force restarting the Mac. It still has memory space on it, I uninstalled chrome and steam and all the other big softwares that could make it laggy. I did some research but couldn’t find anything, please help me. I am planning on installing used genuine OEM MacBook Pro speakers into my laptop. Since they are used, they will not have any adhesive to be secured to the case. Can anyone suggest a safe and effective adhesive to use to secure the speakers?

i just bought a macbook from 2006 and the mac did turn on but when i restarted it it sadly didnt i tried resetting the nvram,smc even use the charging method and every key combination possible i opened the mac to find that theres nothing wrong if you know a solution please please please lend me a hand , i really need it

Hello, I have a 2018 model 15" MacBook Pro, I wanted to change the thermal paste 2 days ago because it was getting too hot.

We handled this job very well together with someone who knows the job. The temperatures were no longer at a disturbing level. After changing the thermal paste, I used the computer for 15-20 minutes and saw that there was no problem.

When I closed the lid (put it in sleep mode) and came home, my computer was no longer working at all.

My TYPE-C cable with Digital Wattage Display says 0W, meaning it does not draw any power.

While disassembling and assembling the computer, we paid attention to all screws, sockets and cables (and also watched disassembly videos). At the end of the process, the computer was turned on and all its components were working (audio-wifi-charging). However, when I closed the lid and came home, I realized that it was not working at all anymore.

I tried all key combinations such as SMC Reset - NVRam reset, none of them respond. Apple service technicians told me that the motherboard was cutting power and they thought it was due to static electricity.

Apple offered me a paid motherboard replacement and it costs exactly 56,000₺ (approximately $1,800), but the 14" M3 16GB Ram - 512GB SSD MacBook Pro is also 56,000₺ (that is the same price), so I would prefer a new computer instead of a motherboard replacement.

However, I do not have the budget to pay for it.

I had previously removed the back cover of the computer and placed thermal pads on the heatsinks and had no problems with static electricity. Why might the computer not turn on?

First of all, I should point out that I talked to Apple support about this problem and they could not find a solution and suggested formatting. Frankly, I don't want to format it. I hope there is someone among you who can offer a solution to this problem. My problem is, I will add photos, my storage space is 256 GB in total and I use at most 30 GB of it. While this seems correct in the first seconds I log in to the computer, after 2 minutes it says that I have used 200 GB. Of course, this changes, sometimes it says 190, sometimes it says 210. and I cannot delete some programs. Actually they don't open. But even if I add up those programs, they don't add up to 200. It's quite strange. We never understood. This problem is truly chaotic.

My cursor and keyboard suddenly not working except when I use my wireless mouse and only the power buttom in the keyboard works. Tried restarting and now I cant enter my password.

I just gotta man up and replace this don't I..

One of my 2019 MBPro speakers failed. So i purchased and swapped out both speakers. In the process i seem to have damaged one of the the little claps on the motherboard that keeps the thin connector in place.

Does anyone know if this requires a full motherboard replacement to repair?

The speaker on the damaged side (which was giving me trouble before) now has no sound. The other replaced speaker is buzzing when used despite it being properly installed, etc.

Thoughts?
