Hello! A few months ago, I spilled my bowl of cereals onto my MacBook. I decided to turn the laptop upside down to let it dry. After that I tried to take off the dried off milk + cereal with a pin but I couldn’t take it all off. At the end of the day, my keyboard is still sticky but I don’t think the components are affected since it’s still working fine after several weeks, it’s just the keyboard. I went to an Apple Store and their solution was to entirely replace the top case which costs around 600€. Do you think I should pay that or is there an alternative? Tyyyyy
My MacBook Air from a few months ago here began to freeze and turn off out of nowhere while writing in Microsoft Word, about 2 weeks ago it began to freeze in the menus which surprised me because it was not running anything, this week I just turn it on and it freezes and turns off, apparently a video said it is a heating problem but I saw videos where the Mac is at 95° and it still works, now I don't understand what may be what makes it fail, I've already factory reset it several times but it doesn't solve the problem, I reset Pram and SMC and it doesn't work, HELP!
Hey guys, I have a 2017, 15”, MacBook Pro and the touch bar is repeatedly strobing and white. The laptop also some days is fine and then some days thinks it’s always out of battery. The keys also sometimes double press.
I’ve tried all the resets, and updating the OS, but no luck.
What do we think the cause is? And how easy to repair? I’m technically minded but not worked on a laptop before. Any help would be great!
Let me know if more information is needed.
Has anyone tried updating theirs? Appreciate your suggestions.
The only issue I have is sometimes it freezes.
I had a pretty direct hit spill on my new m4. Quickly pushed it out with air compresser and let it sit upside down for 24 hours. Seemed fine for a few days but now when I push it at all (I do graphics rendering and such) I get a beep sound that comes and intervals and only stops if I stop using it.
I can’t work like this ready to just junk it
I really don’t want to send to Apple. Seems crazy to send a computer through the mail and all my info is there too. Can I get it repaired locally somehow?
What’s best option at this point
So here it is!!!! At my local vintage shop 25$ MacBook ( I believe 2010 my phone died no pictures 😅 )
Can I get it working? I charged it for about five minutes with it stuck on the first loading. With the apple and loading screen 75% full. I reset twice still stuck on loading screen.
Sadly I didn’t get pics, but they don’t have any extra info cuz old.. I can do basic computer repairs!! Should I do it…..
Hey!
Erg niet-duurzaam. Heeft iemand een gouden tip voor me?
Do all MacBook (Pro and Air) keyboard switches post-2020 feature identical scissor switches or do they differ in dimension? The reason I'm asking this because I can't seem to find replacement keys for my exact model number (A2681) but A2141 A2179 A2337 A2289 A2251 ones are available; a prompt Google search reveals they all feature scissor mechanism.
We recently upgraded to a mesh WiFi at home, but since the update my MacBook (and only my MacBook, not my husband’s or our phones or anything else on the networks) has been struggling to stay connected. It will join, load a webpage or start a process, but freezes within minutes and starts refusing to load new pages. I seem to be able to “reset” by simply turning WiFi off and back on again to re-connect to the network, but I can’t keep doing that every 3 minutes.
It’s a 2017 MacBook so perhaps on the older side, but I checked settings and it says it’s compatible with the protocol (I think that’s the term- not a super techy person) that we are on: 802.11ac.
I’ve seen help forums talking about WiFi card failure, but that seems to be a “you have it or you don’t” things, instead of this intermittent BS I’m having to put up with… I’ve also tried to optimize things with the new router, given my device priority of service and de-conflicted frequency bands or whatever (troubleshooting options from my router’s app).
What else can I do to address this, short of buying a new laptop?
my macbook first had a black screen and after a few tries it finally opened and this popped out but i cant move the cursor and keyboard. please help. i have a macbook air m2.
I’ve been given a 15” MacBook Pro from 2019, that has stopped working unexpectedly. It won’t turn on or anything, but no visible damage.
What could be a fix, or what could be wrong with it. I’ll open it soon, so anything to look for specifically?
School laptop fell of of my bed. How much is this gonna cost me 😢
MBP, idk model info as I’m currently completely locked out. It’s either a 2021 or 2022. In Recovery mode trying to regain access as apparently I’ve forgotten my password and the Touch ID is locked out due to an update and restart. Recovery assistant wants to sign in using Apple ID, but I’m being told I have no internet connection even though WiFi icon is on and it shows I’m connected. At my wits end and ready to erase the thing. Any suggestions?
Has anyone experienced this before? Any troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
Hi, my water spilled in my bag which had my air in it. I have removed its case, wiped it down and now it’s sitting upside down (keyboard parallel to the floor) I know I cannot touch it for 24 hours. But I saw a lot about keeping it upside down. From what I can see there is water in the screen I don’t know if it’s in the keyboard. My laptop switched itself on and off a couple of times and gave a message about recovery mode and startup disk. It is now switched off. I was wondering do I keep the laptop in a position with the keyboard parallel to the floor or do I switch it to the screen parallel to the floor or do I keep it in a tent position?
For the past two weeks my wallpaper in inactive mode (The stage between awake and sleep) has been neon yellow.
Any built in wallpapers that move will cause my wallpaper to be yellow. Non-moving wallpapers are fine and cause no issue until the device starts going to sleep.
I use my laptop for writing so it's really important to me that it doesn't suddenly combust because the screen decided to be difficult.
Thanks ahead of time!
I need to make changes to my brand new MacBook running Sequoia 15.2 but I am the only user on the device labeled as “Standard” instead of “Admin”
Any changes I want to make require an Admin username and password… which doesn’t exist because there isn’t one.
I spend an hour and a half on the phone with apple help and even they don’t know what to do, I’ll have to wait for a call from an engineer.
Anyone got any idea or help?
I mean i guess its fine if the damage cannot be fixed but im not sure if this has to do with the lcd flex gate or its just software.
The screen works just fine but no camera or anything. Try to go to system report and stuff, clicked on camera tab and it said no device found or so.
Can the flex gate be replaced?
I have a couple of old 15" retina Macbook Pro's, one a 2012 in fantastic condition but with the pretty common gpu power shunt problem ( Model A1398, EMC 2512, Macbook Pro 10,1), and another, an early 2013 with a damaged screen and bad battery ( Model A1398, EMC 2673, Macbook Pro 10,1)
My question is, can i just transfer the working logic board from the 2013 to the immaculate 2012?
Are there gotcha's i am not aware of?,
I seem to recall reading this was possible but it was a few years back and i have no idea where i read it.
Thanks in advice for any knowledgeable advice given.
My work Macbook got rained on and suffered serious damage. It is undergoing repairs and my work agreed to have it repaired.
When I noticed the image, out of stress, I took it to a third party guy to have it checked as it said "battery service reccommended". He tried out a different battery before re-inserting the original so no parts were changed and the Mac is out of warranty but Apple still wrote "signs of third party tampering" on the quote.
Will they also write this on the final invoice and could it impact an insurance claim (outside Apple) if the company decided to file?
I have the new Macbook M4 Pro purchased a month ago, I am a designer who uses Adobe software, and suddenly "your system has run out of program memory" warning is occurring again and again, I have tried updating the computer,
CPU: 12 cores, GPU: 16 cores.
24GB unified memory with 512GB SSD storage
Only 100gb of storage was used. If someone knows how to resolve it, please let me know.
It’s not in one place, it depends on what I click. Is this GPU failure? Genius Bar said it passed all hardware diagnostics.
Good day everyone, for those who had their macbook pro’s screen replaced by a third party repair shop how was it?
There is a repair shop that offers original lg panel replacement not sure about the quality I only see videos online.
Some call their panel replacement OES Grade S+
Hi everyone, i just replaced the battery on my macbook pro 15 inch A1990 and when i turned it on the Force Touch click and the keyboard backlighting don’t work properly: I can use the trackpad to move and the keyboard to write but neither Force touch or backlighting are working Any suggestion on how to do now or what went wrong? I already tried to reset SMC and PRAM as well as disconnecting the battery and press the power button for a few seconds but nothing seems to work
My MacBook Pro 15’ with the Touch Bar I’ve had since 2016/17 has turned off and would not turn back on when connected to a charger. The manual methods of troubleshooting it haven’t worked. I took the computer to the Apple Store and after opening it the inside was corroded and dusty including the fan. They mentioned everything is intact but the problem could lie in either the I/O board, or the Intel board. Unfortunately since the longer make the parts for my model Apple would only be able to fix the battery if thats the issue. I was quoted $448 for them to attempt to repair it however its not guaranteed it will fix the issue.
My option I have are to attempt to fix it myself or get another quote from a computer repair store.

macbook pro 2019 touchbar flickering/flashing, my friend has exactly the same model and we both had it since release date and only faced this problem recently around the same time, any solution?
Is there a service that will pair the screen to a MacBook . Like someone that has access to apples tools?
