Lucha Underground was a promotion out of southern California that featured independent wrestlers from the US and luchadors from the Mexican promotion AAA. The show itself was made up of hour long episodes, and featured a cross between American and Mexican styles showcased in a small arena with a hyped crowd.
Featuring intergender matches, violence and attitude, Lucha Underground provided something pretty unique for wrestling fans to enjoy.
A number of former WWE/TNA superstars happened to compete on Lucha Underground as well as many other recognizable faces. Be sure to subscribe to stay up to date on everything Lucha Underground!
Lucha Underground aired on El Rey (in English), Wednesdays at 8PM ET.
This is not an official endeavour by Lucha Underground and is managed by and for fans.

Hello, I remember LU had 4 comics that took action between season 1 and season 2. Years ago it was free on official site but now it's gone
I used to love the bands playing when the show started. Thought that was so different and a cool idea. What style of music would this be considered or does anyone remember any of the bands? I'd like to listen to some on Spotify, but don't know what to look for.
I still kick myself for not buying this when it came out
Hello, I watched whole Lucha Underground series at least 2 times and I love this universe. Now I'm curious who is the most powerful person? My types:
- Matanza Cueto - very obvious, due to a fact that he was a god and he never lost match clearly. Aztec Warfare 3 was losy by shock, battle vs Pentagon in season 4 because he was "spoiled by Dario", and vs Mundo, having the most powerful form, lost only because of Gauntlet
- Mil Muertes - second most powerful luchador in The Temple, but he lost more matches and got broken arm by Pentagon, what never happened to Matanza. Also Mil's power was determined by Catrina, not himself. He was something like a tool, like a Matanza, "stuck" to the source of his power - stone/key
- Catrina - serious pick. She wasn't a luchadora, but her mystical power were obvious since her debut. She can teleport, she controls a Mil Muertes reincarnation power and rules the Disciples of Death
- Captain Vasquez - not that obvious and not very well presented in TV series, but she owns a second part of The Amulet, so she probably have similar powers to Catrina (except Stone of Death) but she never presented it in LU
- The Lord/Wade Barrett - he controls The Order and have full authority power over The Temple and Cueto family, so probaly he is the answer... but season 4 ended when we saw him, so it's not easy to judge
- Jake Strong - he beats a lot of luchadores with full dominance, but he was probably a tool or a new possessed host
- Vampiro - he had a very special "dark magic" aura around him stifled with medicines and he make Pentagon one of the toughest luchadores in this universe
- Kobra Moon - she wasn't a great or succesfull luchadora, but she was a queen of whole Reptile Tribe. It means something
- White Rabbit - similar to Kobra instead of a facts, that he worked for The Order, was a leader of a Rabbit Tribe and was very destructive in The Temple
- Aerostar - in ring, he was just an average luchador, but he also has ability to travel through the time and space, being like a mentor for other luchadores because he almost saw and experienced, well, everything
- Prince Puma - he was very tough and he was a successor of his tribe, his bloodlines were even mentioned by Dario before match against Matanza
- Pentagon Jr - before becoming a Pentagon Dark, he was a brutal luchador that break arms of his opponents, but his transformation make him much more darker and stronger, but he just become incredibely tough due to his mind or motivation difference, not special powers
- Dario/Antonio - they are not very special or godlike personas, they are just smart and know how to deal with others to destroy or not be destroyed. Sadly, they are probably another tools in The Order hands
For those who are unaware, MVP was a part of LU, but he never debuted since he spoiled certain things about the show on his podcast. We never got any info on who he was supposed to be, but I have 2 guesses:
- Pindar: if you look at Pindar's gear, it's basically a reptilian version of MVP's gear, plus the dude that played Pindar is very similar to MVP physique-wise. In an interview, MVP did confirm he was gonna wrestle under a mask.
- The Lord: honestly, I could buy MVP in this role, since it's literally just an exaggerated, supernatural version of the gimmick he's always had lol. MVP was not a lesser star than John Morrison, so I could see him being The Lord, and not just a midcarder as Pindar.
I mean yes, in the beginning he was definitely a rudo, but overtime the "lucha Stone Cold" moniker really proved to be true. Penta was very vicious and out for himself, but he was charismatic in a charming way and he embraced the Believers fully. Almost everyone he feuded with from Season 2 onwards were way worse people.
💀
From what I found, Mil is supposed to be a representation (maybe not literally but just look wise) of the Aztec god of death, Mictlantecuhtli. If you look at Mil's pre-match gear and even his mask, it's pretty obvious.
The writers of the show hinted that the important characters, OG's introduced in first season, are all Tribe members.
Drago - confirmed Reptile
Puma - confirmed Jaguar
Aerostar - bridge between tribes
Cuerno - confirmed Deer
That leaves Fenix and Pentagon. I don't think Pentagon was in a tribe himself, but it just makes sense for him to be in Owl Tribe if he is. Fenix, being a bird, would make a logical candidate for Eagle tribe, but they never said that on air.
This makes me sad that we never got any dive into Mil's tribe. Since they hid it for 4 seasons, Owls must be very important and/or powerful.
The Lord - Wade Barrett comes across as a leader in such a natural way. Being that he's 6'7 and LU's ropes were smaller, he would have looked TITANIC if he was to wrestle, which he definitely would've
Jake Strong - not my cup of tea, but he was popular with the fans and provided a great monster
Hexagon Dark - this dude impressed the hell out of me. Tiny but looked cool and was athletic as hell
Taya - more talent than Kobra Moon, Sexy Star and Ivelisse combined. If she had the platform to do so, Taya would've been money
The White Rabbit - Karrion Kross confirmed he was the secret agent within the Tribes, fits in perfectly
Man... :(
Hey guys, im confused at the end of season 4 catrina says shes never loved mil muertes and she loves someone else who is this? Also she said she never loved mil but why did she kiss him so much in the series?
Since the archive links are dead and I can’t find anywhere to else does anyone have any suggestions? I live in Canada if that helps at all
Thank you in advance
or was season 4 ended with full potential for season 5 , and the discontinuation process started after that?
