I was trying to find answers if I should take this loss prevention officer role for kohls it said the pay was $15-22 and I was offered $18.
I saw posts when looking saying the role or people had bad experiences.
Should I take this role?
I just got a job offer from sephora for $25/hr. Their policies and stuff seem to vary a lot based on where you're located, does anyone have experience with them in Ontario? How was it?
It seems like being hands off, I would essentially just be another customer service representative and bored my entire shift, but the pay is a big step up.
I have been working in retail LP for a little over 2 years. Recently, my immediate supervisor and mentor, whom I worked with for almost 40 hours a week for most of my two years at the company, got promoted and is now working from home and his position has yet to be filled. Just a few days after his promotion our store manager (SM) also unexpectedly quit which took away the second corner of my trusted circle at my store. Our new SM is great and she and I get along well, we have similar goals for the store, and she is learning to trust me and my instincts despite my lack of experience, but learning how to effectively communicate with her has been an exhausting endeavor. I am struggling to adjust to the isolation and taking care of the LP tasks in my store alone. Especially when most of the tasks I now have to do are outside the scope of my training so I have to ask around for someone on my side of the company to steer me in the right direction. I don't have any other friends in this field of work and my next immediate supervisor is the LP District Manager who is supportive but distant and he is not someone I feel comfortable bringing my "smaller" questions to. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks for reading.
Former LP moved up in to management at a big box. I've recently had a few employees tell me they have had customers tell them that they forgot their card and ask if they can venmo the money to them and have them use their card to pay for their transactions. Seems a little off to me especially seeing as I've heard it multiple times in the past few weeks. I'm advising the employees not to do it, but I'm wondering if anyone here has run in to this at all.
So depending on how my interview goes, I might be going back to Target as an APTL. I was previously a fairly involved TSS until early 2023. Anything to be aware of? Specifically, major policy changes, APTL role changes, etc... since 2023?
Do APTLs still do apps and are they in charge of hiring for their teams? Any other general information or advice?
how can i liftup macy's ban , hiring an attorney helps me ?
Anyone got any fake coupons a couple days ago? Saw a thread on here about it and I wanna talk about it because it’s getting more popular . I’ve been working on a similar case. Two males have came into my stores on different occasions and It’s the same coupons sometimes.
I found a CouponScamInfo website that is a kid who sold his hacking scam info to the FBI and federal agents for research purposes 👍good on the kid for using his research for the better to help understand how these coupon scams work.
Anyone have any ideas as to how the work life may be like?
Was wondering if anyone has experience working with hobby lobby or Joanne’s or Michael’s, and how you liked it. Would love to hear about your time there, it seems like an underserved portion of the retail space. I wonder about why? Is it company wide or just my local spaces?
My name is Emily Stewart — I'm a reporter at Business Insider. I'm working on a story on middle-class shoplifters, just kind of "regular" people who steal. I'm looking to talk to LP professionals and shoplifters for it about their experiences and observations (obviously, you can be kept anonymous). If you'd like to chat, you can message me on Reddit or email me at estewart@insider.com.
(Thanks so much to the mods for letting me post.)
Is my job about to just having a computer do 80% of my work?
So I was researching LP jobs in my area and came across a listing that didn't have a specific store, and was just "1st Class Security" I'm assuming these are contracted out by stores, is this a decent company to work for? (Obviously it depends on location, but just in general)
Tricks and tips experiences and story's let me now I wanna now
Can anyone provide insight into working at a Rack as an AP Manager?
Ok so a few day ago after i left I had a guy come in. He comes in and is getting like 8 plan b. He starts using the hand scanner and from the video I can see he scans 35 bar codes from his photo gallery on his phone. Each bar code he scans is for 10$ and on the receipt it pops as a program card. Run it in secure and it pops as a debit card but no name linked. What is going on with this guy. Im feeling he’s up to no good. Also I just got a call about. Him being in again tonight. As he comes to the front he wearing a camera like maybe a go pro or something I’m told. Wtf is he up to. What are these program cards. He claimed to work at a women’s shelter but I don’t know what to think. He was asked to show his receipt but refused but I can just pull it from the he viewer. the behavior is suspect.
Hey there,
I'm looking to get in to Loss Prevention. Though I do not have any experience, I have 12+ years as Legal Administrative Assistant in Criminal Law with one of my pertinent tasks being watching video surveillance footage from stores and jails/prisons. My firm regularly dealt with petty theft and I am confident in my ability to perform well in this type of environment.
If it matters at all, I am 5'2" and just under 100 lbs -- so I know I don't necessarily "look" the part but do blend in very well with the regular shopper. Most people would not suspect me as LP -- at least I don't think so, lol.
Do you feel that any stores would be open to hiring me? I am very interested in Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and other large retail stores. If so, may I ask if there are any recommendations on stores that would hire with no experience?
Thank you!
Can anyone explain to me long/short and how to understand how's it's happening. I thought I knew but when I look at the numbers I just get lost in the sauce and feel like an idiot and I would keep asking my apoc but I don't want to come off as an idiot.
Have an interview this coming with week with TJX for a distribution center loss prevention specialist. I’ve read and seen a lot regarding loss prevention investigators and detectives. Does anyone have any insight into the difference between those and a loss prevention specialist, the day to day work duties, and any other relevant info on the position?
Does anyone have an insight into the Rite Aid AP Leader position? Sounds like you oversee multiple store’s within a district mainly around RX/internal theft and operations? Can anyone give me some Pros/Cons to the job or what the expectations are? What a day in the life of the position entails?
but it is possibly a couple glocks that came in with me down there. anyone ever get stopped for them thinking you have merchandise in your pants when you were carrying?
Last night, I bought a bottle of wine at a Walmart self checkout. This is in the South, where there's a cultural tradition of bagging alcoholic beverages, but neither a law nor company policy to back it up. That's just how people are here.
I didn't put it in a bag because I had no reason to, and where I'm from, grocery stores aren't allowed to have single-use bags. When the self-checkout cashier checked my ID, she told me to remember to bag it, and I politely told her that I've been told that a lot at many different stores across the South, but neither the state nor the city has a law requiring that and that I've talked to both the ABC Board and the City Clerk to confirm. She was surprised but accepted it and said just to make sure if anything happens, just say that she warned me, and I said okay.
When I'm about to walk out the door, the AP agent stops me, and I expect him to ask for my receipt, but he didn't. He said "Hey, man. I'm gonna need that in a bag." I told him that I already talked to the cashier and paid for it and that it was all good, but he kept yelling at me and followed me out.
Is there a way to talk to his manager about training all the employees (not just AP) that it's not required? Does anyone else on this sub work at stores that don't use bags? How did the transition from bags to no-bags play out?
Anybody here have an experience being an Asset Protection Agent at Nordstrom? What’s pay like and do you/did you like it?
What, including punishments, can happen to the shoplifter?
Has any Lp's been caught shoplifting considering they know the layouts, deadzones, control cameras, handle cases etc .What happens is there an internal investigation ? Are Lps being watched as well? and how much have you heard an Lp has taken . I'm truly curious on the crazy stories that surely must exist
First time getting to go to court. What will it be like. What will they ask. Would like some insight from those who had to go before. Any tips are appreciated
