I’m increasingly trying to take advantage of London’s incredible parks while also meeting new people so I am arranging a sunset walk and picnic next Wednesday at Primrose Hill. There’s nothing better than conversation and a good view so hopefully this event will provide both. Sunset will likely be around 16:30 but the viewpoint at the top will stay busy and active even after that point so this event could work for those who are free in the afternoon or who get off work relatively early. Drinks and snacks could be coordinated in advanced if we get a good idea of how many people are coming! I don’t know about you but I think meeting new people and socializing is MOST important in times like these when the days are shorter and less people seem to be out and about.

Pub Quiz - Exactly as it sounds! A quizmaster asks the questions and teams write down their answers. Questions cover a range of subjects and the quiz features picture and music rounds. It is all for fun and there is no pressure to memorise the encyclopaedia before coming.

Our tables are usually immediately on the left as you enter the pub, but you can ask staff for LSC when you arrive - there is usually someone with a laptop who has a record of bookings. We also post on the WhatsApp group where we are sitting (more on that below).

When:

Every Sunday, the pub quiz starts at 19:00, with the picture sheet being given out around 18:40. Tables are booked under "LSC" from 18:30. Two tables are booked but we will try to make any number work. We recommend arriving around 18:30-18:45 as you'll get to take a greater part in answering the picture sheet questions, but it's also really helpful in working out how many teams we'll have - as well as chatting beforehand!

How much:

£2.50 per person payable to the pub quiz people (Cashless only).

Who:

All are welcome. We typically make two teams with around 10 - 15 people.

Do I need to sign up / am I too late?:

Ideally, please leave a comment either on this post or in the WhatsApp group to let us know you're coming - with as much notice as possible - so we know how many teams we will be. It's not a huge problem to turn up after it starts, but try to be there on time to avoid missing the fun!

I'm (30M) planning on going to this event on Saturday (2nd Nov). It's a Halloween-themed cyclocross race/event taking place at Herne Hill Velodrome. It starts from 3pm and will be finished by 9pm. I will definitely be there for 5pm, when the "fun" race takes places and possibly before.

My wrestling school is having a student show and I have been graced with hosting the event. If you have been intrigued by wrestling and/or love theatricality, then I highly recommend coming. It's only a tenner on Sunday at 4pm, wrapping up around 7pm. There will be a bar, we are queer-welcoming (one of the few in the wrestling scene) and you don't need to know a thing about wrestling.
