I am a male in my 20s. I am thinking about taking a job in Santa Barbara in June or July 2025 and commuting from Lompoc since the cost of living in Lompoc is more affordable. Ideally, I'd prefer to live in a one-bedroom apartment in Lompoc. What are some of your recommendations for places to live? Also, I've heard crime is a problem in Lompoc. Is it safe to park my car on the street, or should I rent some place with a garage?

I did check with few of them, but got denied since they don't rent to full time students (that's what they said). Please help me find apartments at affordable rate. Hi there, Lompoc folk! My boyfriend just accepted a job nearby, which means we'll be moving up there from LA within the next few months. We're starting to browse around looking for 2+ bedroom houses, but we're having a hell of a time finding a house to rent that allows pets. and I mean every. single. listing. that matches our needs is FIRMLY no pets. Our medium-sized dog is extremely chill and well-behaved and technically certified as a service dog, so I suppose we could flex it, but we're just wondering why this is so prominent in rentals up there vs. down here. Anyone have any insight as to why? (or any leads on houses also gladly accepted!!!)

We are looking at a place and the internet provided is through LompocNet but I have no idea how stable/reliable it is. I do classes from home and we stream almost all of our TV so I am a little worried about the speed and stability. Does anyone have LompocNet that can share their experience?

Yes I'm one of the few who still listen to my car radio while driving. I noticed that there's not very many radio stations around here that play modern hits. There's only about three stations that play modern stuff and KSYV (96.7 FM) has been radio silent so really it's down to two that I can reach: 95.7 FM and 104.5 FM.

When looking for something new it's either some religious station, Mexican music station, or public/talk station. I do enjoy the classic rock stations but I've grown a bit tired of them at this point hearing the same stuff over and over.

Anyone else relate or am I just a wet paper bag?

My retired neighbor comes onto my property and “works on it” without my permission when I’m at work. For example, he has killed two vines (rather than ask me to trim them), removed a bush he didn’t like in the front yard, built a patio cover that empties water into my property over the fence, built a large two story storage building right next to the fence next to a retaining wall with no permit, trimmed vegetation that covers a retaining wall area and left it in a pile for me etc.

I maintain my property very well, this isn’t a case where we’ve let things go.

Most recently he built a retaining wall behind his house with no permit. It’s is next to the storage building, and my permitted home extension.

I noticed that he also started digging out a large area on my property without talking to me. I was livid! He said it’s no big deal and that he was going to put a key for more stability for his wall because the sand is eroding under his building (this is about 10 feet from my foundation!!!!!). I asked him if he had a permit and what his credentials are to do this sort of work (none).

I called planning and zoning to look at it but it’s a long and slow process, and this guy is still digging. I have talked to him numerous times and I’d love to get along with my neighbors but this is so frustrating and he won’t stop. How can I get him to stop.!!???
