Doesn't matter if you have clowns in a community tank or some dojos in a pond - all loach owners welcome! Please post tank pictures, stocking questions, fish health issues, etc.

Two of my kuhlis have been intermittently swimming together like this for about 15 minutes. My hypothesis is that it is breeding behavior because the smaller one has been carrying eggs for a few months (can tell from the green belly).
[Not my pic - my noodles are too camera shy!]
I started with 6 of these little guys about two or three years ago, lost one, and now have no idea how many exactly are in my tank. I usually only saw them every couple of months, but it's been close to a year since the last sighting. I'm so happy to have finally spotted at least two! My LFS hasn't had them in since the time I bought them, and it had been so long I was afraid they had all died. It's a Thanksgiving miracle! :')
Anyone else have these lil dudes?
Planning on adding some more Hillstreams to my tank but I've never quarantined scaleless fish before since I was lucky enough to add my Dojos and Hillstreams around the same time once my 75 gallon was done cycling. any advice is welcomed
I was thinking about making a blackwater tank for chocolate gouramis, can kuhli loaches live in these conditions, and are they good tankmates for chocolate gouramis? The tank will be planted with Indonesian plants mainly (I'm trying to make an Indonesian biotope and I'm pretty sure kuhli loaches are from Indonesia along with Chocolate gouramis) I'm thinking about getting a 10 gal long. L: 20.25 in / 51.435 cm W: 10.5 in / 26.67 cm H: 12.625 in / 32.0675 cm
Is it soft enough for burrowing and gill sifting? Multiple noods, horse faces and corys. Have had great success with pool filter sand but starting a new tank and thinking dark substrate.
**I know people love blasting sand but that is not an option here
This is my first time keeping pond loaches, but I've had goldfish for 20+ years. I recently upgraded an outdoor pond from like 300 gallons to around 900 gallons so decided to add some loaches!
There’s currently 8 itty bitty kuhli loaches 🥺 I love them so much! Is 8 a good number for a 120 litre/ 30+ gallon tank?
These guys are insane, obviously. I want to move them from my little tank to my bigger tank. Any smart tips?
Hello, I am planning my next tank and would love to have loaches if it is possible. What are my stocking options? The tank mates I am planning on are lavender harlequin raspora or CPDs, and some cherry shrimps.
I noticed some graying on my female Dojo Loach's face. My other loach is fine, same goes for the rest of the tank inhabitants. Not sure if this an abrasion or infection. Has anyone seen something like this before?
My big yoyo loach (named Giorgio) has a new favourite hobby, which seems to be terrorising his smaller loach siblings, chasing them around the tank seemingly endlessly.
I’m slightly worried that he’s going to stress them out constantly and potentially risk harming them..
Is this pretty normal when one is significantly larger than the others? Do you think it will calm down organically i.e. once territory is established or is it best to add some additional territory or something for him? Maybe a cave or more driftwood?
He used to be pretty chill 🤷♂️
Current tank is a 35g
Got this algae disc from Aquatic Provisions' free premium samples bundle, I've never seen this many of them swarm a single piece of food! Normally the hillstream's don't tolerate crowding but I guess eating is more important! Recommending!
I’m in the process of a 20 gallon red cherry shrimp tank, and would like to keep it at this temperature so the male to female ratio is equal. I was planning on Kuhli loaches but I don’t know if the water is too cold or not. Thanks in advance
Ive sent pics of my lil hillstream panini on here and others noted to treat him for a bacterial infection. Ive been medicating the tank and dont seem to see much of a change. I dose for 2 days, do a 25% water change, and repeat as the package says. I was recommended to do half a dose instead of the full since loaches are more sensitive. Ill send some pictures when i get home but im worried its something else now. The rest of the fish seem fine which is good!
