Is this ever stated in the Lion Guard show? I’ve finished most of season 1 but haven’t heard any reference to this in the show. I’ve only heard about this reading online.
This has been on my mind recently since I'm writing a Kiara fic. I was wondering what others thought about it. How do you think she would be as a mom?
Do you think she'd try to be the opposite of Simba? Do you think she would inherit some of his overprotectiveness. Or maybe somewhere in the middle?
I know we don't get to see much of how Nala is as a mother in TLK II, but she seems less of a helicopter parent than Simba. She definitely understands where Simba's overprotective nature comes from, but wants him to relax a bit. Especially at the beginning.
Honestly, my idea would be is that Kiros is Kovu's dad.
David A. Gross, who runs the movie consulting firm Franchise Entertainment Research, made the following statement regarding the lower-then-expected opening of "Mufasa":
“Audiences like the movie, and family animation has shown excellent holding strength this year,” says Gross. “This story is not finished yet. This a prequel story, and prequels start slower.”

this interlude piece from the 'inspired by' album beyonce produced. i actually really like mufasa's new lines in this scene and the way james earl jones' vocals have been isolated here from the movie's sfx means we get to hear his iconic timbre in all its glory! afaik these were not archival recordings, which makes it more impressive imo considering what the rest of his performance in that film sounded like (unfortunately)
"i never left you. i never will" gets me everryyyy time. would've included this in his tribute at the start of mufasa: tlk if it had been up to me!
(This isn't a spoiler bc we hear Kiros saying it in literally almost all of the trailers. They were NOT being subtle about it ☠️)
In this alternate timeline, Kion never gets injected with poison, and the guard have no reason to leave the pridelands.
How did the events of the second lion King film play out?
Oh dear
The "Mufasa" Rotten Tomatoes audience score has moved up to 89% as the film reaches 1,000+ verified ratings! Hopefully the score will continue to climb as more people see the movie. ❤️🦁👑
It's no wonder that many outlets and publications are already highlighting how Sonic 3 wants to outdo Mufasa, but don't you think there's something important that's not being discussed?
Mufasa's main audience is families and Lion King fans, while support for Sonic 3 mostly comes from a smaller group, mainly nostalgic adults, this not only overshadows children and families, but also creates an unbalanced perception about which movie actually connects with more people.
The same goes for many YouTube channels that have talked about Mufasa, some don't offer solid arguments or clear reasons in their reviews, rather, they're looking for popularity, which distorts the conversation around this movie.
Now, focusing on the numbers, we're just in the first days of the box office, Sonic 3 hasn't even opened internationally yet, while Mufasa is already in most markets and starting to gain momentum. According to Deadline, Mufasa is estimated to gross between $130 million or as previously stated $180 million worldwide. The journey is not over yet!
Instead of allowing these comparisons to discourage the community, it is time to come together to celebrate how special Mufasa is, the film has the potential to reach both those of us who grew up with the original story and new generations, in the end, it is we who decide which films become classics through our support.
Don't you think it's better to take this opportunity to show how strong our community is? Let's share our experiences, recommend the film and show the world why this story is still so powerful and relevant
I'm gonna watch Mufasa later and I saw that the cinema I'm planning to watch in is as well as other cinemas in my city not showing Sonic 3
