Grassy Mountain

Was reading Al Jazeera this morning and came across this article about a coal project in the UK. A lot of parallels between the two.. https://aje.io/7na4sg

PlayStation Portal in town?

Anyone have any idea on where I could pick up a portal this weekend? The usual shops - Best Buy, Walmart, GameStop, seem to be out of stock in store. I’d rather not shop online if I can avoid it to due to shipping delays.

Looks like Middleton Hope is allowed to still vote despite not being on council?

https://lethbridgeherald.com/news/lethbridge-news/2024/12/14/downtown-task-force-members-support-move-to-an-administrative-committee/

Something weird going on here. JHM resigned his position to run for the UCP but still gets to vote and still gets to be referred to as a councillor? Yeah, this seems on the straight and narrow. /s

Trusted Housesitters website

Hi! Does anyone use the Trustedhousesitters.com website in Lethbridge?

For either hosting a sitter, or sitting for others?

I'm considering buying a membership to find trusted people to pet sit while I'm away... But it also seems like a great way to stay for free in other places & get to meet & love up so many amazing animals!!!

I did search for Lethbridge seeking ads for the next 9 months and nothing came up... Does anyone have experience with it here? As well as travelling to sit for others?

Fibre internet

Hi, I am moving to Lethbridge and would prefer fibre internet for work (from home). Do any residential areas of the city currently have fibre available? I am finding it tough to decipher the Rogers and Telus sites for what service is delivered.

Do have a cat cafe here by Chance?

I found 'Petals Paws and Beans', but can't tell from their Facebook page if there's actually kitties there.

Christmas Shopping Local - Places to try or support.

What are the local places you plan on shopping at or want to shop at this season? This is more along the lines of money spent a smaller family run business or independent retailers spread a little more in our community.

Slowest/Quietest Gyms?

Hey all, I am starting to look around for new gyms, as the Y has started to feel too busy for me. The only time I can hit the gym is peak hours, are there any other gyms in town that stay relatively slow during that time?

West Lethbridge Bi Election

It’s advanced polls time, and I’ve been going back and forth trying to decide who to vote for in the by-election. While some of my colleagues have strong personal connection opinions on who not to vote for, I prefer making a well-informed decision.

After some digging, I finally found an article where the candidates answered key questions on important issues. Thank you Lethbridge News Now. It helped narrow down my choice. One candidate came across as cocky and power-hungry, another stuck too closely to only using party lingo, and the third seemed to speak honestly and directly.

I’m concerned the wrong person might get elected—and even more worried that a lot of people might not vote at all. When I went to vote, it took less than 3 minutes from parking my car to being back in it—and this was on a Wednesday evening around 6:15 when I expected it to be much busier.

So if you’re debating whether to vote…just go. It’s quick, easy, and it matters.

What’s everyone thoughts on this bi election? Is it just going to be a race of the only names people know?

Edit to add link: LNN Article

Edit: sorry about putting bi….when it should be by, my woke brain wasn’t thinking this morning.

Window tint and Carplay installation

I need to replace my car’s rear window tint and add Apple Carplay. Doesn’t need to be the same place. I don’t want to take it to a dealership because I would pay more just for them to send it out. Suggestions?

Edit to say it’s just an ordinary Mazda.

U of L

I have a genuine question if anyone knows the answer I would appreciate it! I am doing the 2+2 from the college to university for my bachelors of management! The university is telling me they will UNENROLL ME in my classes if I don’t submit my HIGH SCHOOL transcript! I went to high school in Ontario, so they cannot request it on my behalf which is totally valid, I understand. But given the Canada post strike, my transcript is stuck in the mail. I emailed my advisor telling them this, hoping to get some sort of extension! Nope, January 10th in the deadline!

Now obviously, I can get my parents to pick it up and Purolator it out to me, but I just find the whole thing a bit ridiculous. I graduated from the college, don’t you usually need to finish high school (or GED) to get into college? I also am 30 and graduated high school in 2011 lol… the whole thing is just wild to me!!Does anyone have any insight to this? I don’t want to ask my advisor in fear they would find it threatening or something crazy and further my chances of getting Un enrolled!

Thanks for listening to me , and again any ideas are beyond appreciated 😊

(Edited for one spelling error so kindly pointed out to me… 🙄)

Lethbridge Cooking Store

Can someone tell me where I might find pie weighs/beans? They go on pie crust while baking to prevent the crust from bubbling up before filling is added.

Any good locally owned restaurants around?

Looking for suggestions. I recently treated my friends to The Jasmine Room and had a fantastic experience, it’s a nice small place. Wanting to try new places, preferably locally owned small restaurants to treat my friends to.
