LegoRockets: Discussion and showcase of Lego brick-built rockets and spacecraft from the cold war, modern times and the near future!
Discussion and showcase of Saturn V scaled rockets and other lego space stuff

The rocket is from u/Smazmats, the rover from u/IBuildrobots and the martian landscape is self-designed.
If you are wondering about the capsule: I wasn’t able to construct it as designed because the robot arms that hold the outer panels kept popping off. So I reversed them inside out and used 1x1 clips to stick them to the octagonal frame. Seems like the gaps are the same, but it’s a lot more robust.
And why the „different“ rover? Just because I like it more.
LEGO Atlas V N22 on the pad with the Boeing Starliner CST-100 spacecraft. The Starliner crewed test flight, currently scheduled for Friday 17th May next week, will be the 100th flight of the Atlas V overall. It will carry NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Sunita Williams to the ISS, on a mission analogous to the SpaceX Crew Dragon Demo-2 flight which took place exactly 4 years ago this month
This is an updated v3.0 model that I will be releasing instructions for shortly on Rebrickable: https://reb.li/m/151988
How come the brick which represents the command module atop the Saturn V set is plain white but the one that has the orange buoys is grey and printed?
To my knowledge, there was no fairing on top of the command module and it was completely exposed even at launch despite the launch escape system being over it.
So why does the set include a white and a grey command module instead of two grey ones?
Edit: never mind there’s a fairing afterall.
Just seen this news:
LEGO Technic Summer 2024 Sets Revealed
See the last one. Where have I been the I did not know this?
The SLS has been a little disappointing in its scale, but a Lunat Rover??? That's a day-one buy. It looks amazing. Just waiting to know more details
Article says it has a ton of stickers and I don't think it said anything about SLS type B and C versions.
Created a 1:160 scale Atlas V for the upcoming Artemis. First time designing a rocket so any tips or ideas to make it better would be nice. I would like to buy it, what would the cheapest way be, pick a brick or bricklink?
1:110 scale OneWeb satellite launchers. The Russian Soyuz was originally meant to carry the entire Gen 1 constellation to low Earth orbit between 2020-22, but this ended roughly two-thirds of the way through (428/648 satellites launched) following the invasion of Ukraine. OneWeb subsequently relied on NewSpace India Limited and SpaceX to launch the remaining satellites on LVM3 and Falcon 9 rockets respectively, starting in October 2022 and finishing in May 2023.
I've looked continuously for a MTV type Moc, like this , but the most I've found was a design posted to Lego ideas, no rebrickable link to it. I've messaged the creator to see if they're willing to send me a parts list and instructions but idk if they will respond. Does anyone else have a MTV moc out there?
I am in the process of collecting all of the US made rockets and spacecraft in 1:110 scale. So far I have 8 rockets, 3 space planes, and about 6 or 7 satellites/ space telescopes from a plethora of designers and some of my own design. My point is, I'm getting to the point that I am wanting to start standardizing how they are all displayed and I wanted to include any fellow collectors in the decision making process. I've been using modified version of Phreadee's stand for the New Horizons spacecraft for most of my satellites, space telescopes and space planes, and modified versions of JAW0323's Rocket stands for the Mercury and Gemini rockets for most of my smaller rockets. My Saturn V and Falcon 9 are just sitting on their engine bells.
My vision is to develop a standard that could be applied to all of my current and future rockets/ spacecraft that would use color, shape, size, relative position to other sets, and maybe a small sticker or two to serve as an indication for service dates, mass to orbit capabilities, manned vs unmanned capabilities, number of successful launches, and whatever else I could pack into the meaning of the stands. I just don't want them to be too distracting from the sets themselves.
I understand that some of this will be influenced by where I display them all. I currently just have a cheap 3-cube organizer at home, the surface of my 2'x2' filing cabinet and my desk at work, but I will certainly expand those surfaces as my collection grows. I will just need to keep the stands somewhat space efficient and only big enough to keep each set stable as to not waste what little space I have.
So what are your thoughts? Have you developed a similar system? If I started from scratch and eventually released my system here, what would you want to see included?
CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA - April 1, 2024
The much-anticipated final flight of the Delta IV Heavy launch vehicle, scheduled to carry a top-secret payload into orbit, faced an unexpected delay today. The cause? A last-minute decision to give the iconic rocket a unique paint job reminiscent of its predecessor, the Delta II.
The original plan was for the Delta IV Heavy to soar into the skies with its traditional orange insulating foam coating. However, in a surprising turn of events, United Launch Alliance (ULA) CEO Tory Bruno announced that the rocket would receive a teal blue paint job instead, paying homage to the Delta II, which was retired in 2018.
In a statement released by ULA, CEO Tory Bruno expressed the significance behind the decision: "The Delta launch family has been an integral part of space exploration for decades, and as we bid farewell to the Delta IV Heavy, we wanted to commemorate its legacy in a special way. The teal blue paint job serves as a tribute to the Delta II, symbolizing the end of an era while honoring the remarkable achievements of the Delta launch family."
While the impromptu paint job has caused a brief delay in the final launch, space enthusiasts around the world eagerly await the historic moment when the Delta IV Heavy takes to the skies for its farewell mission.
Hey everyone! So today, March 28th, 2024 will mark 5 years since I created this subreddit in 2019! Honestly, I would have never guessed that we would have grown to almost 5k subscribers! ( give or take 150 :) ) Admittedly, I have been less active myself in the past year or so with building, but I just want to say a huge thanks to everyone here who has participated and helped grow our community!
To celebrate both 5 years and 5k subs, I want to do another community created subreddit theme! I did refresh it in June of last year with the current annotated blueprint set ( its best viewed in browser FYI) , but I think it can be improved. It only features the Saturn V set, but I would love to include more MOCs (and fun notes) as well. I need to work out the details of the best way to implement it and collect submissions, but keep on the eye out for that post soon!
Thanks again everyone!
this is a really stupid question but where do you get the pieces for these builds? do they come from personal collections? can you buy a kit from a third party? do you just buy each individual piece off bricklink or something? I want to get into building these but I dont really know where to start. thanks for any help and sorry for being stupid probably
Don't know if I want the Lego set but that MOC is so sweet I want to build it next.
