I'm just trying to get through the next for years without wanting to commit šššššš to myself. I also am surrounded my maga supporters at my job and there aren't any other jobs that pay like this job does in my area.
Recently I saw a post by content creator Nimay Ndolo and Iād like to share some of my thoughts and make a proposal. Ndolo discussed in her video that the way we approach things may not be the best way to go about getting the change we want after election. She explained how we tend to approach others in a way that to them comes off as elitist but with other leftists we often donāt see it that way. I believe that what she is bringing up is an extremely important issue we should be addressing which is how we approach the conversations with people who are incredibly indoctrinated. If we look at the election map in comparison to the states with the best ranked education systems we can see that the states with better education voted Harris. This means that many of the people whose votes she needed to win donāt necessarily understand how the government works. For further evidence of this I recommend looking up videos of Trump supporters being interviewed. Many of the people are incredibly confused when the interviewers ask them questions about the government, candidateās policies, immigration, and US history. Oftentimes these people are getting much of their information directly from candidates or news outlets such as Fox or CNN. This creates an echo chamber where their beliefs are further solidified. So if we want them to change their minds and beliefs they need to understand whatās really going on. I know oftentimes our first reaction is frustration because the policies put into place by the institutions they support are directly harmful to us. I propose that when we feel ourselves getting frustrated we have resources on hand to give to them to learn for themselves and then just walk away. My reasoning for this is that the people we want to reach are heavily indoctrinated and become very defensive when they feel backed into a corner. Although this isnāt the intention itās part of what theyāve been taught is the correct response. When this happens they are beyond the point of reasoning because theyāve already decided we are being unreasonable. So in these situations when we stay outwardly calm and just present a resource it gives them the illusion that they learned the information themselves and made their own conclusions. I personally have tried this tactic recently with my own family and found it to be incredibly effective. Months ago my mother had made up her mind on an issue we had discussed and when I attempted to bring it up with her she accused me of having a double standard. I could tell she was getting incredibly defensive so I decided to start just providing her with the information directly from the source whether it was articles or documentaries I sent them to her so she could see for herself and then make an informed decision. I saw a huge shift in her language towards the issue as soon as she educated herself with the resources I gave her. She immediately started saying the same things I have been saying for months and I can say Iām incredibly proud of her growth. To further explain how this process has worked I will provide some context. My mother grew up in an incredibly conservative evangelical environment with her father being a pastor and Trump supporter. She attended a mega church for many years and is incredibly privileged. People can change but we canāt expect them to if we approach it with the assumption that what we are saying is common knowledge. If youāre genuinely too frustrated and feel either unsafe physically or emotionally you absolutely donāt have to force yourself to try to have these conversations. Itās not your job to educate others. For those that feel up to it and comfortable, I urge you to please consider this approach.
So project 2025 had a call to ban porn, there is a problem though
Porn makes so much money, like a lot. Ok so you know Americans love the NFL, Americans love the NBA and some like MLB. The porn industry makes more then all 3 combined.
If you truly think the rich run American then how will something that loses so many rich people so much money be allowed to happen ?
speaks for itself honestly
Trying to find places and resources to find people in the gaming community or otherwise that are leftist. Nothing sucks more to end up in lobbies or settings where politics come up and and you don't want to listen to typical conservative talking points, like homophobia, racism etc.
Anyone have any discords or groups like that? Or as an individual that is looking for much the same?
TL:DR looking for community.
I live in a right to work state and am fearful about pursuing a union for my workplace. But i also feel like if I dont do anything I'm just being complicit. How can I tactfully and incrementally work tward this and keep my job.
The youtubers I've watched the most are Thought Slime and F.D. Signifier. Has anybody else watched these youtubers? Thought Slime calls himself an anarchist. F.D. Signifier is the most left wing youtuber I've found.

"āThere's no sleeping with men that is worth risking your life and your safety,ā says TikTokker Regan, who goes by u/ftheniceguy on TikTok, also encouraged women to swear off men (though she herself is gay). āWhen they have showcased time and time again that they don't value who you are and they don't vote for you, they don't stand up for you. It's important that you protect yourself when they're not willing to protect you.ā
Talk of adapting the 4B movement to American politics isnāt just taking off on TikTok. Since Tuesday, there has also been chatter on X, Threads, and . Google search interest in the movement shot up in the hours after it became clear Trump would win the US presidency, an election in which Trump saw big gains in his appeal to young male voters.
The 4B movement originated in South Korea, and encourages women to opt out of marriage (bihon), childbirth (bichulsan), romance (biyeonae), and sexual relationships (bisekseu). Born out of protests against South Koreaās cultureāinstances of dating violence, revenge porn, and gender wage gaps are widespreadāthe movement has grown in recent years. South Korea has the lowest birth rate of any country, and despite government incentives, many women still feel the countryās patriarchal structure makes the cost of motherhood too high, and refuse to be ābaby-making machines,ā according to reporting from the New York Times.
Although it started in the late 2010s, the movement didn't really gain attention in the US until earlier this year. New York magazine published a long feature on it in March in which writer Anna Louie Sussman laid out the ways in which 4B adherents were, as Barbieri demonstrated on TikTok, cutting their hair and eschewing beauty products. āThe blowback and fear that 4B practitioners experience underscores their conviction that Korea is still a frightening place for women,ā Sussman wrote, noting the threats and attacks women, and specifically 4B protesters, receive.
I'm not educated at all about this but I've been trying to unlearn propaganda I've been fed as a born American. Recently I was doing a school project on America's intervention on Afghanistan and I was looking at the precedent before 9/11 (not that I ever believe an attack on civilians can be justified) and I stumbled across Bin Laden's letter to America. I wanted to know what your thoughts on it are and perhaps see a discussion about it. Here is a link https://www.dni.gov/files/documents/ubl2016/english/To%20the%20American%20people.pdf to the letter. There does seem to be anti-semitic undertones but I'm not sure if that's me being affected by Israeli propaganda or if it actually exists. Again I want to make it clear that I do not think 9/11 can ever be justified but the way the letter is written makes me think he's writing about the necessity of a socialist revolution and the infection of AIPAC which are very real. Also if you guys have any sources on the legitimacy (or possible illegitimacy) of Bin Laden as the perpetrator I would like to read those too. Now I don't mean to ruffle any feathers if he is an actual proven terrorist, I am just horribly misinformed.
Hi everyone,
I hope it's fine for me to ask this here. I looked it up, but couldn't find much. Considering Bernie is the closest to a leftist senator we have, what's gonna happen when he dies? He's getting really old, so I wouldn't be surprised if he dies while senator.
Does anyone know what would happen for Vermont? Has he mentored anyone to take over after he's gone?
It seems like there's a lack of mentorship from socialists/leftists to the next generations, but I might be wrong.
What do you think about all the hate she received?
Personally I think she should've won. I think Johnny Depp is an abuser.
Amber Heard won the first trial in the UK. Do you think it's weird that Johnny Depp was able to sue her a second time in the US?
This trial was deeply divisive. So I'm just curious where leftists stand on this.

Preparing for a protest involves dressing appropriately and bringing essential items to ensure your safety and well-being. Here's a guide on how to dress and what to take with you: How to Dress:
What to Take:
Additional Tips:
Stay safe and make sure to look out for yourself and others during the protest. Is there anything else you'd like to know?
you people will start fighting amongst yourselves, not realizing that some agent provocateur is behind this
Do you feel that these two are intertwined? I personally think that it is impossible to be a Leftist without doing some amount of deconstruction of religion, if for no other reason than how the language and theory of debt is very much tied into religious perspectives (such as how debt is considered to be a moral failing).
Thoughts?
I, like all leftists, have long been a critic of the US prison industrial complex/for profit prisons. Even before Trump was elected, I feared the coming times in which homelessness is criminalized and becomes a pipeline to prison (ie enslavement). This is already happening in some southern US states.
Now that Trump has been elected/it looks like Republicans will control all three branches of government, donāt be surprised that if Republicans actually pursue mass deportation of undocumented immigrants and migrant workers (which would in theory cripple the agriculture industry), they will ālease outā prisoners to do this work. The prison system in the US has been a thinly veiled, repackaged version of slavery ever since chattel slavery was abolished in the late 1800s. It never actually went away in the US. Using prisoners as agricultural workers will solve multiple problems for them, as it will keep labor costs, and therefore prices, cheap.
Also, they can throw all of their enemies, both political and perceived in prison to make them a slave. I feel it will be the playbook for them to either enslave or deport all āenemies of the stateā. This sounds like a dystopian fantasy, but it is the playbook I imagine the Trumpian government will use going forward. I can only hope that he and his cronies are too stupid to employ this strategy (which I unfortunately doubt, as despite him being a senile idiot, he will be surrounded by a lot of truly vile, evil people).
Not only that, but I think that the oligarchs of the US have been preparing since the many riots of the nineties (and having knowledge of the many popular revolutions throughout history, in general) to not allow that to happen again. The US police have been extremely militarized in the last 30 years, and they are staffed by some of the worst of humanity (ACAB). I say all of this to say that any significantly large protest and/or revolt will be violently ended by the police, and should by some miracle a large enough group of people meet the policeās force, the US military. We are truly headed for the darkest timeline.
Edit: Just want to acknowledge here that my use of the word "new" in the title was inaccurate/incorrect.
I keep seeing liberals (presumably) coming into this space and blaming leftists for not voting in the US election. Every single leftist I know is VERY politically active as part of their regular lives, even outside election cycles, whereas the liberals I know are only politically active every 4 years during presidential elections.
Most of my leftist friends who could vote did. A few abstained for various reasons. Most of us view voting as just one, rather small, part of our political activism.
Obviously, my little world may not be reflective of leftists and liberals as a whole. Broadly speaking, I know democrats didn't turn out in this cycle for Harris, but some comments suggest that leftists just don't vote on the regular. Is there some data I can't find indicating it was mostly leftists who stayed home this election, or that we dont vote in general? Do you all vote regularly? Or are these people just using us as a scapegoat?
It feels both exhaustive and a waste of time to give liberals who have no intention of operating in good faith a lesson on why they're generic DNC talking point is incorrect. To that end, would it be possible to compile a list of usual talking point that get thrown around by liberals and have a bot auto-respond to them with rebuttals? That would give liberals who actually are interested an avenue to education, while simultaneously freeing up regular posters. What do folks think about this?
Hear me out on this one, but crows can hold a grudge for up to 17 years. Why doesnāt someone in Washington DC dress up as Trump and is mean to some crows (donāt hurt them of course)?
It would be hilarious if he is attacked every time he gives a speech in the Rose Garden.
How are people feelings toward Walz after the US election? I personally feel like he should get a pass. Compared to other US politicians he's progressive. Sucks that the DNC essentially muzzled him; he is really good at communicating progressive policies, and countering far right populous messaging. I hope this election doesn't tank his career.
