Very interested in creating a mobile laser tag business in my area. What kit provider can best support outdoor laser tag, in a mobile format? Much more interested in tactical gear, supporting an older user base. Less interested in younger users, and kids birthday parties.
hi! my husband is looking to splurge on a laser tag set. We are totally new to this.
He’s looking into laserwar- does anyone have experience with it either commercial or private? He’s looking at a tagger with their new parallax optical system if anyone has used that as well.
At the bowling/arcade/laser skirmish place I used to have my birthdays at when I was young, the guns had two different settings you could swap between at the press of a button. Supposedly, one shot faster and worked better at long ranges while the other was more like a shotgun with more close-range damage and slower firing. That's what the attendants told us, at least. Apart from the different sound effects the two different modes made, we could never tell the difference.
Does anyone have any memory of an Australian laser skirmish establishment that had guns like this, and if there really was a difference?
I am looking to buy laser tag for my niblings for Christmas. I would need two sets (going to two different families) but would like them to be able to play together. What brand would be good (they are preteen age)? And are different sets of the same brand compatible with each other?
Hi everyone, thanks for the replies on my post from yesterday - its very useful.
to follow on from that, would it be possible to have say a sentry gun or sweeping laser that is constantly 'firing' that a player would have to dodge in order to get from one area to another? and if hit then would have to go back to retry the area for example?
Again thanks to everyone for the replies, i'm a complete noob and don't know anything about the tech but want to implement in a new project i'm working on.
Hi, i'm doing some research for a project i am working on, and was wondering if it would be possible to use the IR technologies in laser tag but without it being from a gun. For example we would have players run around and have a health buffer or something, and then have to return to a home base to refill, or maybe using the IR technology to 'capture' something and then have to go back to a base to 'drop it off'
Would The technology used in laser tag be my best bet or is there something else that would be better suited?
Sorry if this is not the right sub for this, Cheers

I'm looking for a place to play laser tag because nostalgia, but all I can find are locations made for single-digit children, or have closed (what is up with that by the way?). Are there any locations for older people (more obstacles, maybe multiple levels or at least some verticality, and not filled with small children so you feel both guilty and unchallenged)?
I am looking at doing a large scale event, the choices are obviously paintball, airsoft and Laser Tag. I grew up playing all 3 and as a kid, paintball was the clear winner.
However at the professional level or high end personal has technology finally caught up. I love the idea of using laser tag for our event but my questions are in
how do the really react in bright sunlight?
what is a REALISTIC range for say a sniper rifle, is it really 200 meters/yards?
how are the wifi capabilities tracking these things in real time.
I can read all the information I want for different companies but I want real opinions from players.
Please give me honest opinions of capabilities. I would love to be talked out of paintball. Ive loved laser tag since being a kid.
I'm looking to buy a laser tag set to play with my friends, and considering picking some old Tiger Lazer Tag Team Ops guns from ebay. Can anyone comment on how well they function outdoors? Are they fun to play with (not too hard, not too easy)?
I have searched, and some of this info is hard to find. Laserwar looks good, but outside my budget, BRX is just within, I like the idea of SwapTX, but like many here, the cardboard is a turn off, and I want more game options.
I've got a 5000 sqft house, 1/4 acre yard, and forest of 160 acres behind my house. Primarily will be in the house and yard though. Looking for 4 units to play with 9-12 year olds, and a 42 year old who acts like he's 12 (that's me).
We currently use nerf laser ops pro, but the problem is the guns have massive hitboxs/blast radius, and kids just run towards each other blasting away, it's not that fun. I'd like to have a system that uses proper health (one or two hits, and you're dead) and something that you have to run back to a certain area to spawn, so there's some strategy in the game. Also the ability to have ammo cache's, medical kits, and flag captures.
Is BRX good for this? I've seen videos on their battle royale game/app, but they're not that detailed. Everything is also 3-7 years old, so I don't know how up to date it is.
I'm a bit surprised this sub has so few members, but what can you do?
Anyway, I'm in the UK and wondered how many of you lot also lived on our little island?
For the UK guys, which site is your home arena and what equipment do they use?
Have you ever played other systems, to what you regularly play?
Just curious really.
My home system is Laserforce and I play at either LaserZone Huddersfield or Laserforce Leeds.
As for other systems, if it goes PEW, I've probably played it and at locations all over the world.
I designed this with some help from my coworkers and it works really well! try it out!
anyone owns an Evolver by Swaptx and can quote its range when playing outdoors in full sunlight? thx
Hey! I'm looking for a kit for four mid-20s adults. There's a lot of Laser Tag kits I see online well within my price range, but most of them either appear catered towards children or I can't verify their quality.
I know that my budget is fairly low, but I'd rather not sink too much into a hobby before I can gauge just how much this sticks with our group. I've seen the BMX, and I've seen some of the higher-end kits, but really can't justify the pricing ATM. Can you all help me find a good kit for my group? Thank you!
its a laserforce gen 7 and nowhere in the manual we have does it say how to “reset” the vest to get it out of self test, it just tells you to “reset the vest.” how do i do this?
Won’t know I’m hired until a call back in a few days. I believe I nailed it as I have history with working at large campgrounds with hundreds of families and working with lots of people. But I’m still new to the laser tag business.
Can anyone else provide some beginner tips on what you think helps makes you better at what you do? Thanks to everyone in advance!
Do the old laser x guns work with the new ones?
Hi,
Someone here know something about this company? Scam or legit?
I can't find a lot of information through the net!
Thanks everyone!
Hey everyone, I was looking for any other battle company operators or equipment owners experiencing similar issues. I currently run with brps and I have a considerable amount of freezing in the middle of gameplay on all of them. It doesn't matter if they have new boards or old boards, The only issues that I think could cause this are either the head bands disconnecting mid game and causing a freeze while reconnecting or a memory issue with the guns.
If anyone has any experience with this or how they've fixed it I'd greatly appreciate it
Tossed in a new set of batteries and they are like new! Kids played with them for a good 10 mins! Lol
Was having a nostalgia throwback moment to getting my first Team Force laser tag set for my 10th birthday back in '96. Found a pic of it on another reddit post. I had a ton of fun going around the neighborhood and playing with this set.
And I distinctly remember finding a glitch with it that if you turned on the blaster with a certain combination of buttons, it would go in to a completely silent mode (normally it had a constant beeping) and automatic fire without reloading, almost like a constant IR beacon that would light up whatever vest was in it's way. I wonder if anyone else had this experience. It's so long ago it almost feels like a fever dream.
Hi there!
When I was a kid, I used to visit a family fun center in Raleigh, NC called "Adventure Landing." They offered laser tag there for as long as I can remember, but at some point during the early 2000s they switched over to Lazer Runner from their previous system, and I'd really like to know more about what they had before.
The system involved fairly bulky black vests that had hard boxes on them that could be activated by the operator using a little magnetic key, versus the softer vest sensors of Lazer Runner.
The most unique feature was the gun, though - it had a small LCD screen on the back of it, and two metal contacts up front. The trigger wouldn't do anything unless you were holding the gun with both hands and touching those contacts. If you briefly stopped touching the contacts, then touched them again and pulled the trigger, you had limited uses of a "Bomb" function that would emit a broader beam in front of you instead of the typical laser.
It was a really cool system! Has anyone else encountered it?
I picked up 4 Vatos laser tag guns and i live right next to a huge forets so decided to play some sort of game in the forest, does anyone have any ideas. I was planning on playing with 4 people at like 8:30
I have been trying to find a laser tag set that I had when I was a kid (late 1990s - 2000). It was a set that had an eye piece that was kind of like a HUD. I realize that sounds like one of the Tiger sets with the goggles but I'm positive it wasn't that. This was more like an eye patch that only had a display over one eye.
The other thing I remember is that it had some kind of voice activation. Like you would tell it voice commands to start a new game. It also had you record your own voice to assign your name.
Other than that all I can remember was that I found it at a KB toys and it was heavily marked down to $100.
Any suggestions would be awesome! Thanks!
All I know is "glow in the dark" paints can be insufficient if they don't actually react to UV wavelengths.
Is there an industry standard for the type of pigments used for dark environment games like Laser Tag? And I suppose the UV lamps used also need to match the right wavelengths.
