What generator should I use to run a 2000 watt continuous laser?

As the title states, looking for recommendations on a portable gen-set I can use to power a 2000w fiber laser. Do I need one with an inverter? Choices are limited offering 250v/50a output and an inverter built in. Thanks in advance!

Cleaning on mineral deposits question

Hello everyone. I have a question about the capabilities of laser cleaning. I have seen that there machines work great on rust. Does anybody have experience with the cleaning of mineral deposits on steel? More specific lime deposits on stainless steal parts.

I have worked in the past in a paper factory. They use some filters in the pulp handling process. These filters are basically an oddly shaped perforated metal sheet. Once every 6 month they have to replace these filters because a layer of lime builds up on the surface and clogs the holes.

The filters are pretty expensive because of their shape and the material.

The idea was that it may be possible to extend the lifetime of these filters by cleaning them. Mechanical cleaning is not an option, because these filters are kind of sensitive.

Chemical cleaning would be probably possible but these filters are very big. I wouldn’t want to deal with the regulations regarding the use and disposal of big quantities of chemicals.

Therefore I would like to ask you guys if anybody has experience with lime or other metallic deposits on metal surfaces? Maybe concrete on steel would be an alternative for comparison?

Bio and hoarding

Would you ever consider using a laser to clean residential homes to clean up a biohazard (blood) or a hoarding home?

Glasses recommendations

Hi all,

Our laser seller told us that those are the glasses which we need to buy. Can someone explain me if there are different type of glasses ? Why some of them have different colours and why price range is from £25 to £350 ?

Is there such a massive difference between cheap and extremely expensive glasses?

Cleaning wand attachment to CNC?

Hey there gurus. I'm thinking about getting a fiber laser CNC table for one of our sites and was curious if there are any companies/models which have a fiber cleaning wand attachment. I keep seeing these 3-in-1 cutting/welding/cleaning systems, but none where there's a CNC table.

Alibaba lasers cheaper & LSO question

Hi! Two things…. Alibaba sells cleaning lasers seemingly at a whopping discount. Anyone using one of these? If so, what has the experience been like?

And when it comes to an LSO in the United States, am I (in my laser cleaning ignorance) to assume that an LSO stands around keeping safety checks for the duration of the day’s work as someone else does the physical cleaning? So every job is always a two-person job? I see the LSO may get paid $80k/yr for little, is this correct?

cleaning laser help

Hi guys. Quick question Has anybody any experience with DMK pulses laser cleaning machine.. They seem to have good media presence, and very active posting on you tube. If not, maybe recommended Chinese manufacturer that can provide good after sales care. Maybe you have first hand experience. I know many of you asking the very similar questions but based on price difference between European makers and China lot of us do not have choice. Let me know Pawel

Pulsed laser cleaner from china

Hi, has anyone bought anything from this company before? https://www.lmelaser.com/product/500-1000w-cabinet-pulse-laser-cleaning-machine-lme-cpc.html

Lmelaser

I want to get a pulsed laser cleaning machine to start a business, there's a lot of these chinese companies that offer them at good prices, but not sure how realiable are both the companies and their machines. I don't have the budget for european expensive ones.

Maybe anyone has some recommendations?

Thanks in advance

Black Mold removal with Laser

Has anyone go more info on Laser cleaning black mold from houses and buildings - I been researching this on the net but all i get is actual mould cleaning like tyre and injection moulds.

Looking for info if it can be done - what laser power should be used and if its a permanent removal process.

Thanks in advance

Removing paint and primer.

The removal of multiple layers of paint consisting of primers that can have low melting points can prove to be difficult without the proper understanding of the science behind laser ablation in relation to Pulse width, Frequency, Speed, Power Hatch and Pattern . #lasercleaning

Setting up business: Laser vs Sandblasting, Pros \Cons?

Hello, I am putting together a sandblasting service targeted towards automotive restoration, stripping paint and rust, etc. I have a large 375 CFM compressor, and a blast hose of an inch and a quarter.

Do lasers make more sense? Are they a complete upgrade? Or are they an additional tool to someone sandblasting in situation?

For example, if I need to strip a truck frame, and pick up box, to have rust holes patched, painted, and restored into a show car, which form of stripping would I be using the most?

Also, what is the approximate cost of a appropriate laser system for my situation? Does the maintenance of these machines become costly?

Appreciate any guidance, I am debating how much of my budget and efforts to invest into the sandblasting portion.

Consumer grade lasers

I am wondering if any makes a cleaning laser that could be cheap enough to be considered home use. I restore old cars as a hobby and this seems perfect for rust removal with minimal damage, much better than sand blasting. If any can link some of the lower end models I would appreciate it. Speed and power are not concerns, mainly the rust removal. Thanks

Recommendations for commercial laser cleaner.

Looking to add laser cleaning to my business. Looking for some recommendations. Preferably I’d like to be under 50k and looking for a machine that can work on multiple substrates. Speed quality and local (USA) support are most important. I’d really like to demo the machine prior to purchase. Thank you!
