Hi. I had an idea to create a Writer's Group for people in Kyle. (I know the Kyle Public Library has a Writers Group, but due to it conflicting with my schedule, I am unable to attend, so I decided to make my own, after looking around on the Internet only to find no other Writer's Groups.)
I made this post to see if other people are interested, because I am a writer myself and I want to make friends and connect with other writers in the community, and if enough people are interested, a convenient date and time to meet could be decided upon. (This idea was not made to compete with the KPL's Writers Group.) Below is a Google Form to get information and feedback from those interested in my writing group idea, so the first meeting can be planned. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me. (Also one submission per person, please.)
Anyone know of a good legit chimney sweep in the area? Tis the season and all.
If you live in an apartment and drive a Toyota be on the lookout for people stealing wheels at night. We just woke up to our Camery on freaking blocks. I hate people sometimes
Poco? Idk yo :( best tortillas too?
I’m looking for pool halls in Kyle, Buda, or San Marcos, I don’t want to go into Austin. Ideally I’d like a place that sells drinks, but doesn’t charge for pool by the game like bars do. Do y’all know any places nearby that I could rent a pool table for a couple hours at a decent price or just go in and buy drinks and play pool for a while. I’m going for my birthday with some friends, so I’m not looking for anything competitive. Just a friendly game to celebrate my 23rd birthday. Thanks!
Hi all, my young family is moving to Kyle to be closer to my parents and our community. We're early 30s with an almost 2 year old daughter and hoping for another. I'm stuck on the best neighborhood for our family with best schools, community, and affordability. I grew up in South Austin and moved away after college. Now wanting to move back and stay there to raise our family. Love Kyle with all the new conveniences and proximity between San Antonio and Austin. I am going to be working from home so commute shouldn't be much of an issue. Want to stay on west side of 35. Looking at Paramount, Opal Ranch, and Anthem. Anthem is stretching the budget but the community may be worth it. Let me know any insight as I haven't lived there in over 10 years!
Anyone here have knowledge of the Cool Springs neighborhood? We are looking in the area and wanted to hear from residents about the quality of the build, the noise level of the neighborhood and any other issues you may have encountered. Thanks in advance!!
When do you all think the Hays county will start allowing fire?
It rained heavily few days ago, and the ban is still active.
I have not been able to use the fire pit since last spring.
I recently cancelled my escrow so I have to pay property tax by myself so just wondering when 2024 property tax bill will be sent. I checked hays county tax collector site and it still shows 2023 tax year.
Hi there! My family and I are new to Kyle, and last weekend we went to the Center Street Trick or Treat(!) and visited a booth that had the best caramel apples (my mother in law bought the apples for us as a surprise treat later in the day). I need help tracking down the name of the vendor so that we can buy more, and give credit where credit is due!
Does anyone have any insight into either of these candidates?
I am leaning toward McKinney because of his attitude towards RESPONSIBLE growth and water sourcing as well as his desire to develop water recycling infrastructure, but I like Gozas idea of working with HOAs to get rid of green grass requirements.
Hello people of Kyle I was wondering if anyone knew about any football academy’s/clubs/Sunday leagues in the Kyle area or surrounding thank you for your responses.
Curious what y'alls thoughts are on this location. My girlfriend has been saying it's bad for a while and I never quite understood what she meant. With that said, the food we got from it today was awful. One of her nuggets was f*cking gray. Not like dark meat chicken, but like actually gray and nasty. My food did not taste good either, so I'm curious if anyone else has had any negative experiences as well.
Hello, all.
My wife and I are moving out of our home in the Peninsula and are needing to get rid of a garage full of miscellaneous trash (broken tv, broken down boxes, holiday decoration). Is there a landfill near Kyle?
Saw one for Creedmoor but after I called the automatic operator gave me some expensive prices and I’m wondering if there’s anything else close by.
One of my absolute favorite parts of the city. Hope y’all enjoy.
Anyone know what happened at the academy in Kyle?
Hi, we have a large 2 story 4 bed 4 bath house available for rent in Kyle. The house is spacious with a backyard and is in a great family friendly community. It has all steel appliances which are new and are in great condition. It's just a 3 minutes drive from the Kyle Elementary school, 3 minutes drive from the Laura Wallace middle school and 6 minutes drive from Jack C Hays High school. All the shops and amenities are within a range of less than 10 minutes and Downtown Austin is 25 miles from the place. Please DM or comment if you are looking to rent a place. Thank you!
Do you all know where I can find diagrams of this prop? I see the document, but want to make sure I am well informed when it comes to voting and tax hikes.
I grew up in Kyle and I'm considering moving back to be closer to my parents, but how are the cops? Do they have things to do or are they still pulling people over for minor traffic infractions? Are they responding quickly to calls or pulling an APD and never showing up?
Edit Thanks everyone!
Anyone have their kids at Kyle’s bright beginnings? I have some questions.
Did anyone else eat at Taco Bell off I-35 in the last 24 hours and get horrific food poisoning? I’ve been to that one in Kyle a million times, but based off of symptoms, I believe me and my friend who ate there last night got salmonella poisoning.
If we were the only ones, may this serve as a warning

What is everyone averaging for their water bills, especially those living in the Six Creeks neighborhood or surrounding areas?
Please be on the look out for my cat! She went missing last night. I’m located in Hometown Kyle Subdivision and I’m hoping she’s still in the neighborhood! She’s very friendly and has a white dot by her nose.
I normally drive through driftwood to avoid traffic to Austin for work. Would anybody happen to know why it was blocked by police and at least one constable the a few days ago. Everybody had to make U-turns and there were no signs warning people the road was blocked.
Anyone live in or near this new Lennar built subdivision on the east side of I-35 and know if it’s a decent neighborhood? It’s still under construction. Just curious before we drive all the way to check it out.
Looking at buying in Kyle. What’s average for lawn service for a small 7k sq ft lot with house on it? We pay $20/wk where I’m at near Houston. Same there?
