Hello
I just found this subreddit. Basically the title. And if you're Kurdish, then how can you convert into it? I thought it was just Persians. Kinda how like you can't convert into a Yazidi or Druze.
Forgive me if my question is inappropriate
in the book "معجم البلدان" The Book of Dictionary of Countries of the writer and poet Yaqut al-Hamawi, he mentions an arabic poet by the name of Abdulrahman ibn al-Mustakhaf (died in 1237) who express his dissatisfaction for the people of Erbil for having a "House of fire"
here is the poem.
إربل دار الفسق حقاً فـلا يـعتمد العـاقل تـعزيـزها
لو لم تكن دار فسوق لما أصبح بيت النار دهليزها

Hi! I hope it's okay for me to post this? Mod is free to remove this if considered irrelevant.

Just wanted to say I think it's awesome that there are kurds who embraces their pre-islamic past!
