I've been looking for an extention/script that automatically goes to the next suggested video without having to wait the 5 seconds.
I find the youtube auto suggest an excellent way to listen to new music.
(Also, if someone knows of a way to get rid of the "are you still watching" button i'd love to hear it.)
I cannot create passkeys for my google account when I use Kiwi Browser, but when I switch back to chrome I can create and use them
I start using kiwibrowser 1 year a ago, but recently i find there are too many bugs, such youtube fullscrren with crop , when show menubar in bottom, sometomes the tabs are enlarged .. no response click the new tab button.. horrible
Cannot take screenshots in incognito mode, and Kiwi's developers thought it was a good idea, why?
I really like the Kiwi browser, but there's always been an issue that bothers me. It's about the synchronization of the new tab page after launching the browser! If I choose the modern style for the new tab page, there won't be any options for exporting or importing. This means that when I get a new phone, I have to manually add all the links from the saved tabs one by one, which is very inconvenient! Is there a solution for this? I know I can use web-based extensions, but I would prefer to open the new tab page instantly and locally rather than through the internet.
Hello everyone,
I'd like to know the name of a few browsers for Android which are lightweight and also support Chrome extensions. Please give me your suggestions. I'll be very grateful.
Thank you in advance.
Vicky.
how can install bypass paywall to kiwi? kiwi won't open my zip zile, where i wrong?
Last update in april of this year, pratically half a year is passed without updates, so is this browser an abandoned project?
If I search by entering it in the url bar it opens a new tab. Before I notice it I'll have a dozen+ tabs open.
Is there a way to stop this? I looked through the settings and didn't see anything, and I searched for an extention that might help but I didn't see anything.
I've noticed something bizarre today because I mainly use youtube via Kiwi with ublock since it's much more convenient than using newpipe or a modded youtube app (which by the way, this issue happens in the official app too but there's no workaround there).
I have two devices with a snapdragon/adreno pairing and i can confirm this happens on both of them however to different degrees of severity. On my Xperia IV 10, I have a few frame drops here and there, but nothing too severe, from my tests using the stats for nerds window, i'd say it's around 20 dropped frames per 2000 frames. On my Samsung tab a9+, that's around 80 dropped frames per 2000, quite the increase and this doesn't apply to just Kiwi but to every other chromium browser including Samsung internet. I have managed to reduce it somewhat with the following flags, but I still think this might be worth having some additional research by those that know more about this, but i'm assuming it is codec/hardware acceleration related.
Edit: Also to note, this only happens if you go to 720p and above, and it occurs in normal Chrome as well.
With these flags enabled, i only get around 8-15 frames dropped per 2000 frames which is a huge improvement compared to the previous result with just the default settings. You could also fix this by just disabling hardware acceleration for decoding and encoding, but then this will break video playback on most other sites but still work on youtube, so this solution seems to be preferrable if you use kiwi for other purposes. Other tablet i've used for testing is a Nokia T21 with a Unisoc/Mali combination which for some reason is completely rock solid when it comes to youtube playback on any browser despite it being a much weaker device (about 2 times as weak compared to the A9+)
Edit 2: By rock solid I mean barely any dropped frames at all, only around 2-3 dropped frames per 5000 frames.
Hey, app developer. Since you've stopped developing the app, how about licensing it under the MIT license?
If you don't provide any updates within 3 months, I'll switch to Firefox mobile.
Which flags do you recommend for optimization as well as security and privacy?
I'm on Kiwi 124.0.6327.4. When reading long pages of text, sometimes - not always, but most often - scroll acceleration will kick in and it becomes hard to control where I am on the page. The text under my moving finger will change, so I end up not knowing where I am on the page any longer. Is there any way to remedy this or turn it off entirely? Thanks.
SOLVED
turns out i had to click "disable vpn/proxy" in the 3 dots menu
Title. Does anyone know how to prevent this on Android? For both tabs and extension tabs? It's didn't happen before until recently for me. Now when I swap between tabs they all refresh losing data.
Tried different extensions that open pdf documents directly in the browser and they don't work. Instead it downloads them. Back then pdf.js used to work without problems, but now it doesn't.
I even got some .pdf doc bookmarked from before and when I open it, it loads normally, but if I click it from the search results, Kiwi just downloads it. No idea why all of a sudden it's acting like that. Tried going to chrome://settings > privacy and security > site settings, switching to Open PDFs in chromium to no result. Any suggestions?
When I try to search within the address bar Google suggestions don't show up. Only similar things I've searched in the past.
Is there a way to turn this on?
Last Update of kiwi browser was in April 2024, so kiwi browser seam to be Abandonware.
I switched to Firefox Android or Microsoft Edge (Chromium based). Both support Extensions like Dark Reader. And are great to use. It's a pity, I hoped for an independent browser that is open source and chromium based.
I found the new version of the extensions of all kinds of pdf viewers can't work properly recently. When click a link of pdf, the download dialog box appears. You can't just view the pdf file in the tab. I tried to install the old version and it can work properly. But kiwi will update the extension automatically. Is there any way to stop the autoupdate of extensions? Or can someone tell me what happened to those pdf viewer extensions?
I have around 200 tabs that are open in my kiwi browser right now and I want to save all of them as bookmarks for future reference. I tried some extensions like Session buddy but they can't read all the open tabs.
Click on the | next to the Add button. Upon choosing "Import passwords", and "Select file", a file picker doesn't ever show up. Could an edit in Developer Tools make the file picker work?
