Tales of the Kytin Age is a brand new TTRPG designed for sandbox, campaign play. Set in the distant future, planet Earth has become host to the Great Insects: giant, mutated creatures that dominate the land, air and sea. Mankind has spent millennia skulking in the ruins of our long-dead civilisation, but after the Great Insect Wars, currently enjoy a ‘golden age’ of rising prosperity and a higher chance of survival. Towns and cities are formidable in their defence against the huge monsters that prowl field, forest and desolate wasteland.
Beyond these protected urban centres, it is every person for themselves. Daring travellers join long caravans of protected wagons as they move from place to place, merchants, scholars and craftsfolk among them. Intrepid explorers band together to push the boundaries of human knowledge, investigating the ruins and remains of many fallen or failed proto-civilisations. And, as always, brigands and bandits pose an additional threat to their fellow folk.
A rich and detailed character creation system teaches the basic rules of the game, provides instant character-orientated goals, and readies players for the perils they will encounter. Simple, yet gritty and deadly mechanics provide an intuitive, tactical combat system, and a single, fundamental rule covers combat, skill and ability use with only a few exceptions.
Embracing the design sensibilities of 70’s and 80’s RPG’s, but with a lick of modern paint and stunning, full colour artwork, Tales of the Kytin Age is gloriously ambitious title destined to receive multiple expansions, adventure supplements and even a line of custom miniatures.
With only a few short days remaining on its debut Kickstarter campaign, now is the time to lighten your ky-strip and invest in this exciting, independently published RPG. The result of over 30 year’s development, including 6 dedicated to visual world-building, this is no ‘flash-in-the-pan’ affair, and the Kickstarter offers everything required to jump into the Kytin Age at the beginning of its published life-cycle.
We’re fully funded but copies of the game are limited and the Kickstarter allows more than a 10% discount on the Deluxe Edition’s RRP. Backers will receive their copies before general sale begins and also have their name featured in the Core Game Book!

Horror Fans, My First Game Demo is Out! I Need Your Feedback!

I’m excited (and a bit nervous!) to finally share the demo of my horror game, Black Light Kills, with you all. This is my first game, so every bit of feedback is incredibly valuable to me. My goal was to create an immersive, truly tense atmosphere that pulls you in.

The world of Tales of the Kytin Age is unlike any other. The game takes place in a future Earth ravaged by environmental collapse and humanity’s reckless disregard for the planet. After an apocalyptic event known as the Day of Fire, the planet’s climate has shifted dramatically. The survivors of mankind now live under the threat of giant, monstrous insects, evolved to dominate the landscape. As life begins to regain a foothold, humanity has formed new societies, adapting to a world where survival hinges on mastering the harsh environments, learning to tame enormous fungi, and navigating political intrigue.
The four forms of evolved human beings, adapted to survive their perilous environment.
Players in Tales of the Kytin Age assume the roles of unique characters, including metamorphs who can alter their bodies, telempaths with psychic powers, and insectile humans with abilities tied to their insect DNA. The game offers players the chance to explore this dangerous world, shape their character’s future, and engage in epic adventures.
One of the standout features of Tales of the Kytin Age is its flexible character creation system. Gone are the typical RPG classes like warrior or mage; in this game, your character’s story is defined by you. Whether you want to be a knightly wayfarer, a dangerous hunter, or an intellectual book-bearer, Tales of the Kytin Age gives you the freedom to develop your character’s skills and attributes based on your choices, no rigid classes holding you back.
The Wayfarers are the new 'Knights of the road', always ready to aid a lost traveller.
The game’s mechanics are also designed for tactical depth, allowing players to approach situations with creativity and strategy. From character stats that influence everything from combat prowess to social interactions, to the option of choosing from sixteen different guilds, every decision shapes your character’s growth.
