Hey everyone,
A pretty personal dillema. I've been diagnosed with Pneumonia about 5 days ago and been taking some pretty strong antibiotics since then. I've been prescribed to take them for 10 days. The problem is I have my second interclub fight in 2 days. I don't quite feel a 100 percent yet but I'm starting to feel better with some coughs here and there. What troubles me most is the fact I'm still going to be on antibiotics in the day of the fight if I decide to take it. I know it's just an interclub fight but i did train pretty hard the past month and I'd hate to see all of that go to waste. Could the antibiotics have that much of an impact on my performance? not sure if i should withdraw from the fight or not....
Hi everyone, this is my list on who are the Top 15 P4P best kickboxers in the world right now.
Top 15 P4P Best Kickboxers in The World
1-Chingiz Allazov
2-Superbon
3-Rico Verhoeven
4-Donovan Wisse
5-Akihiro Kaneko
6-Wei Rui
7-Superlek
8-Tyjani Beztati
9-Donegi Abena
10-Petchpanomrung
11-Kazuki Osaki
12-Miguel Trindade
13-Regian Eersel
14-Marat Grigorian
15-Sitthichai/Liu Ce
Personal takes:
-If Chingiz Allazov doesn't fight in the next 2-3 months his rank should go down
-If Superbon doesn't fight in the next 4 or 5 months or ends up fighting grigorian again his rank should also go down
-If Superlek doesn't fight in the next 3 or 4 months he should also be downgraded
-If Donegi Abena wins the LHW belt and becomes champion again in December, his rank should move up
-If Petch wins the Featherweight GP his rank should go up
-If Wei Rui becomes One champion and fights 1 more high caliber opponent (Ennahachi or Superlek)he should be Top 1 or Top 2 in the P4P rankings(also for all those that were screaming robbery at that Akimoto fight can you please tell me how on earth Akimoto won that fight cuz Wei clearly won Round 1&2)
-If Miguel Trindade wins the Featherweight GP,beats Haraguchi avenges his loss to Peposhi and beats Petch not only should his rank go up but he should be the new P4P N1 or N2 and named the 2024 kickboxer of the year.
Would you agree if not who would you say are the current top kickboxers in the world.
Sorry if this question has been asked before. But skill wise we all know there's plenty of kickboxers outside of the UFC that could compete easily in the championship/maybe even dominate (especially with some additional training in something like wrestling). Am I missing something obvious?
Not my video, found on YouTube.
I’ve been kickboxing for about six months now, after a few years of boxing experience, and I’ve noticed that injuries—especially to my feet and the area just above my knee—are more common. I stand with my left leg forward, and when I kick with my left, I often end up hitting with my big toe first, which injures my whole foot. Also, low kicks that land right above my knee, at the muscle attachment, leave that area sore for days. I like to train 4-5 days a week since I want to compete next year, but sometimes I end up limping from these injuries.
In terms of etiquette and being fair to my training partners, is it too much to ask them to avoid kicking my injured leg? Or would it be better to take time off until I’m fully recovered? What would more experienced fighters say?”
1/Kick and Stick
Hold out your kick, keeping your rear hand tucked, and your lead arm straight. Repeat with the other side.
2/Check and Cross Check
Hold a check position, then without dropping your leg, move it across your body for and hold for the same time. Repeat with the other leg.
3/Block and Teep
Similar to /2 - Hold a check position, but then without dropping your leg, move into a teep position. Repeat with the other side.
Hold each shape for 30-60 seconds, gradually increase the time under tension as you get stronger.
*Remember to keep your core and glutes engaged, and keep your hands in the right position.
I hope you find this as useful as I do. Every week I share simple tips on my newsletter to help improve your training. Completely free ;)
(An isometric exercise involves making muscles act against each other or against something that does not move)
Well im a kid(i’m solid at kickboxing but im young and puberty hasn’t really fully hit yet so i have some psyhicall disatvantages) and in my gym there are older, stronger and heavier guys, so i need tips on how to spar them? 3 of them hit so hard, like knockout power and i don’t know what to do? Some tips would help.
What are some drills that worked for you the most and have seen most development in? I need more drills for hand-speed, power, accuracy etc the more the better
The question is in the title. I have a fight (4-0 god willing)coming up against a guy that likes to move and throw fancy spinning kicks and rushes for the clinch right after. He doesn’t have any hands or defense. When he does throw it’s sloppy and weak. So the plan is to just block the kicks and get in with 3-4 punches and use my footwork to get out. I’m prepared to adapt to any situation he puts me in, though, so we’ll see.
Any other tips?
I tried it in my bag and it is damn powerful.
Basically the title. I had a few fights and a couple times I'd block a kick and throw a power jab or straight right as they're pulling their kicks back and it never gets counted as a KD. I just wanted to know if this was a normal thing in kickboxing, where getting knocked down while kicking can get counted as a slip.
Also, in amateur KB, do knockdowns pretty much win you the round or is just scored by points in most organizations (i mostly fought in WAKO but i wasn't sure).
thanks!
