Google as ever giving mixed messages, and booze doesn't have nutritional info labels, so has anyone here got a definitive answer? I know my flavoured vodkas and gins but don't usually use rum, so are any/all of the spiced ones sugar-free?
Or I'll just get a Bacardi and infuse with a cinnamon stick/cardamon pod before Christmas.
Day 1 of keto - Set my macro aims on Cronometer to strict keto (1g protein per kg lean body mass and 20g max net carbs)
I have only eaten once today, i doubt ill eat again but I am way to high on protein and low in fat.
Had a fatty ribeye with 3 eggs and avocado. Tablespoon of olive oil and butter too.
This seems like its going to be so difficult to keep the protein down whilst hitting the fat target, maybe i lose the eggs? and add in some of these pitted green Olives i have in the cupboard.
Im also keen on getting fats more through solid than liquid forms, to keep the shits at bay.
Any advice would be fantastic!
Thanks for taking the time to read.
Recommendations wanted. I've been using Jordans for years, but tkmaxx no longer stocks it, and the price has skyrocketed on Amazon. I've tried Matteo...weak, and Torani...OK. My choices...on Amazon...are...BULK, Simply, daVinci, and Skinny BARISTA (either syrup or the 60ml shots). Any others you've tried and liked?
Does anyone know if they're they Keto friendly? I've been dying to try the Blue Raspberry or Cosmic Berries flavour for a while now but I'm struggling to find out if they contain sugars/carbs? I've even tried contacting them but no luck.
I haven't drank for several years even prior to doing keto, but lately I've been fancing a drink, and these have caught my interest ever since seeing the Cosmic Berries flavour in Costco.

Has anyone bought a blood ketone meter? I see loads of comments about urinalysis not being accurate and because of fat adaptation, the ketone levels will drop in your urine as your body becoming efficient.
So my question is: why wouldn’t your blood ketone levels drop too?
The t’interweb says between 0.5mmol and 3mmol is the range for nutritional ketosis.
Has anyone tested at the ~4 month mark and what was your approximate reading?
I have had a just under 7 stone weight loss and deliberately had a couple of days off this past weekend (still low ish carb) as the NHS says not more than 12 weeks VLCD. My ketosis levels are measuring 1.7mmol.
Just interested in other people’s opinions and results.
Thanks in advance.
It has been exactly 1 month since i started Keto.
As much as I have missed shoveling down carbs, I've continued on keto without cheating, and having successfully done that, I have lost 6.7kg!
Happy days!
If you YouTube butter tea or yak butter tea it’s basically bulletproof coffee but for tea
I have it after a fasted gym session in the evenings. I don’t workout in the mornings due to other commitments and I like the quietness in the evenings.
I find butter tea gives me relaxation, I feel refreshed and replenished maybe it’s a physiological thing but it satiates me. Hunger cravings literally disappear.
For example I went on a 45 min run/jog/walk workout at the 2300 today came back at midnight and was feeling very hungry, to avoid heading to bed with food in my belly which I can’t do I had a butter tea and felt great, hunger went away.
I’m trying to lose liver and visceral fat hence why I’m not hitting “bulking” at the gym. I am lifting well at around 60kg on bench and 95 on squat.
Hi all,
I am currently on day 9 of trying keto for the first time, after considering it a few times in the past and finally being convinced to try it after watching this video by Dave Macleod, and so far I've found it interesting and eye opening, both in terms of how my energy levels and mood have been, and what the macros of common foods I never even thought about are.
I am wondering if anyone has had experience trying to sustainably lose weight as I have found it difficult to get my target calories in without it becoming repetitive, and I'm worried I may be losing weight too quickly. So far, I have found eggs, avocados, pork belly, and pork scratchings to be great, as well as the McDonald's triple cheeseburger with no sauces or bun!
My calorie totals each day have been getting lower due to aiming for a carb intake of 20 - 30g which hopefully will/has put me into ketosis, however my first day intaking 44g is the closest I have been to my target calorie amount.
Am I being too focused on getting into/staying in Ketosis and would getting closer to the upper limit of 50g for Keto be reasonable, or would it knock me out of Ketosis?
For further context, I didn't start with a high body fat percentage but I have already lost around 2.5kg which I imagine is majority water weight currently weighing 69kg at 175cm, my target calories are 2400 and my target macros are 5% Carbs, 75% Fat, and 20% Protein as I would like to retain as much muscle as possible.
Anyone know of a UK or European brand of Goat's milk cream or Jersey cow cream, and where it can be purchased? Sainsbury's (the tease) has Jersey Cream on its website but it seems to be constantly out of stock.
Tips appreciated! Thanks.
There’s no nutritional info given
Hi all love Keto love the suite of foods, I know it’s all no beers and instead drink spirits etc in moderation and all the rest of it. In the UK please can anyone advise on readily available acceptable beer options and where you get them from? If I can crack this 5 or 6 beers over the weekend hurdle I’ll be absolutely laughing and can Keto forever
Just wondering what people think about gettin Indian food for example a korma or tikka on their own with meat no carbs. Do you think that the sauce will be high in carbs and how would you go about calculating them?
I've been on keto for a bit. Made a sausage casserole last night using an online recipe. Probably over did it with the oil, cheese and cream, because my girlfriend has a portion and it played havoc with her tummy. I felt fine and even had a fat bomb as dessert not long after, but I think she isn't used to ingesting so much fat in a meal.
Has anyone had a similar experience?
I'm using a tracker app.
I am managing to stay under my net carbs ( always below 20)
My protein is way over And my fat is under
Should mt get macro be a seen as a targate or a limit ? I'm using real butter, cheese , olive oil , cream in coffee and I'm still way under my fat macros.
Still adjusting to unlearning everything I’ve been taught about “slow release carbs” and it got me thinking about the bag of oats I still have in the cupboard; how have we been taught that they are so good and they have so many health benefits?
I was really craving a bowl of porridge but I didn’t cave and binned the oats but does anybody have any tips on how to unlearn and realise that these things are actually very unhealthy for the body.
If I can shift my mindset this whole thing will get easier.
Hey, I'm on the west coast in a fairly small town and get so jealous when I see on another keto page I follow all the cool keto stuff that is available in other countries. I shop between aldi and morrissons and I manage OK with what I can get. (I'm 1stone 7lb down since 8th august). But it seems like there are so many more options in other places. I have ordered bits and pieces from amazon which are great, especially keto hana granola. So just a wee post of my jealousy of USA stores.lol
A favourite keto meal for anyone looking for a quick and easy meal - all from Farm Foods so great value too.
Nothing special here - I get hungry whilst on OMAD.
My go to? Tuna mayo. Seriously, why I haven’t thought of it over the past 5 years of doing keto is beyond me. Bloody game changer
Last night I caved and had a KitKat , only a few days in, disappointed as I feel like I have pushed going into ketosis another week away.
Are there any good keto friendly chocolaty snack available, supermarkets B&M , home bargains etc.
Hey all. Wondering if someone can point me in the direction of an electrolyte product that I can ideally buy off Amazon that has the correct amounts and ratios of electrolytes needed for keto? I know I can use salt and low daily etc but I’m looking for ideally tablet form or if not already mixed. Struggling to fit in the time to hit the goals on these and feeling rough because of it.
Thanks in advance!
I’ve been eating low carb, high fat and moderate protein for one week now.
I’ve noticed a fruity/iron taste as well as more frequent urination. I got a tube of urine test strips and the keto part is still faint. Bizarrely after a week my right jeans fit a lot better!
My activity levels have been better but I was quite active before, but my previous diet was very high in carb and due to being diagnosed as pre diabetic I changed. Tom Watson the M0 was a massive inspiration
Am in ketosis?
i got loads of frozen chicken in the freezer atm and one thing i miss since being on keto from 2020 is currys.
i suddenly got the urge to have a curry, but i get curry is defo not keto. andi was wondering what's the best way you can make something as close to a keto chicken curry as possible?
all the curry pasters ive looked at in supermarkets today have like 10 -30 g of carbs per 100g. is there anything in a tradition curry i can sub for a keto version? (note: ive never tried making a curry before)
Is protein shake okay on keto.
This is the details of the one I have . It's Impact whey

I am day 2 of keto (loved all my food so far, god I miss bread)
I given up all grains hoping this helps.
Any advance to a new starter would be welcome, I have never been on any sort of diet so this is very nes to me.
I'm also in relatively good shape, I don't want to lose much weight. How do I stop.kyspwf going too skinny on keto?
