First of all, I want to say that I no nothing about audio system. And I was given the following Karaoke System.
* The console (the tube thing) I think this is basically the computer and stuff, I can plug this to TV and it worked fine
* The mixer? Starting from here I have no clue what am I supposed to do.
I was originally plan to just get RCA to optical cable and connect it to my soundbar, but from reading this subreddit, looks like I'm not supposed to do that cause it might break the soundbar.
So I was wondering is it possible to get RCA Left Right to Mono RCA and connect it to the guitar amp?
This is the items that I have so far
Starting up my karaoke business! I live in Toronto Canada doing a gig in the less busy part of town. How much should I be charging???
First time KJing will be tonight. I'm happy for the opportunity so I agreed for just $100 a night 10-2AM.
I know I should be charging more but how much more??
Heya, I'm trying to understand what speaker I need for home karaoke.
I understood that regular music speakers aren't a good fit; but I live in an apartment building and a speaker that isn't too loud is totally fine.
What should I go for?
I'm planning a home karaoke setup and I am avoiding an all-in-one solution because I have existing equipment that could be used and I want the best quality experience for the money.
For music I will be playing youtube videos from my PC into my home theater 2.1ch speakers via HDMI. Lyrics will be displayed on the TV. I want to stick to using these speakers because they are awesome.
For voice I initially planned to have two XLR mics->Motu M2 input to PC via USB>PC output to denon receiver via RCA cables->denon output to a separate powered PA speaker
The first question would be is there a consensus on the best PA speaker around $100-200?
Another question is should I use the Motu M2 with software effects via USB or Yamaha MG06X with integrated effects?
I have heard that software processing will add latency, but will it matter? I like the freedom of software effects instead of being limited by the mixers technology. I know there will be a slight downside to not being able to fiddle with the mixer knobs on the fly and instead be forced to use the computer.
If there are any problems or shortcomings with this setup please let me know. Thank you for anyone's input.
I’ve got a rodecaster pro 2 and several mics. Sm58s cables, etc. How should I go about setting this up for the best karaoke solution?
Hi everyone and thanks in advance for any comments you leave. I'll keep it short as this must surely be a common topic. I did a search but was specifically looking for something console-based... My two daughters are big into Taylor Swift (shocking I know). They'd love to do some karaoke sing-along and I was looking into the Let's Sing 202X series of games because it sounded like you could get some of her songs via DLC. However, I was looking at the VIP Pass, default song list, and also dlc, but I didn't see any Taylor songs on there.
Does anyone have any advice on the direction I should go here? Nintendo switch is kid friendly, which is why I was trying to go that route if possible.
Just hooked mine up and am really struggling with a few things.
I get that it’s a French company, but so many of the songs on the homepage are French (even though my language is set to English). Will that change with time, after we use it more?
I have the app on my phone, but can’t figure out how to use the app to put songs into the queue on the station. Is it a totally separate system?
It seems to freeze a bit even though my internet is stable. Anyone else have issues with this?
And any other words to the wise would be appreciated. I’m not super techy and was really hoping this would be a good and effortless solution!
Is it tacky to put a tip jar out when I’m doing gigs at a bar?
Hello, I apologize if this is a redundant post in advance.
I want to ask, what do you need for a karaoke setup? I just want the bare minimum, low latency for a good singing experience/feedback, as well as additional volume control and balance with reverb.
I'm currently at university and would really like to get a setup created for my family for Christmas by the time I get back. In the past I have bought all in one systems such as: S9 UHF Rechargeable Wireless Microphone System Karaoke Microphone Wireless Mic Cordless Dual with Bluetooth Receiver Box + Volume Control ECHO for Karaoke Singing Speech Meeting Church, 200FT. But it had a lot of latency and I wasn't happy with it so I returned it. Are there any others in the market that have low latency that are similar in price? Or do all budget systems like this face similar issues of latency?
Another question is, do I even need a karaoke system like this? What are the major components needed for a system to begin with? From what I remember from home, My dad has many spare wireless karaoke microphones in the past, as well as having various different types of big speakers, of which I'm not sure if some would/wouldn't be compatible since some might be wired/Bluetooth. This could save money while potentially having much a better experience compared to budget karaoke systems in the market.
Currently I have a projector, 120 screen, Apple TV and Apple Music Sing, and using Sonos 1’s and 5’s for audio. Is there an external device I could use for vocals? I’m trying to avoid having feedback when I play the music through the speakers. Because the projector and Apple TV are mounted to the ceiling I don’t want to extend a mixer from the ceiling. So I’m thinking my best bet would be to buy an external speaker and mic for the vocals. Anything I should be concerned about?
Ideally I’d love to get a speaker and two wireless mics. I have no idea where to start. Looking to spend $500 or less. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
i'm new to this, so please forgive me in advance… I'm going to a karaoke party tomorrow night and a terrible lawyer will be there who completely tried to con me. I was very lucky to discover this early, but I'd love to have a song to sing to him and put him on shout in the fine art of karaoke! I'm happy to share details, but it's beside the point… I'm only lucky that I discovered con before he kept creeping the bill up past the $13,000. he's sending to me now. complete fraudster…
PS – I'm a big guy with a lot of heart. I'm not a good singer. I think the key of D is ideal.
I currently have a few Shure mics and a tiny mixer w some vocal fx, but would prefer (because wife) not to use those. I'm convinced I can snag a foothold in my area as the main guy in my city recently retired. Help me make this work!
This Friday I am going on a bar crawl and traditionally one of us in the group dresses as Santa. It's my turn this year. One of our stops always has karaoke. So my question is: what would be a good song for Santa to sing that's not a traditional Christmas song?
I'm thinking somewhere along the lines of Johnny Cash's "I've been everywhere" or Beastie boys "so what you want?" I may fall back on Elvis Presley's " Santa Claus is back in Town"
What are some other good ideas?
hi! there are way too many songs i want to sing that do not have karaoke videos.
i do not have a great computer atm.
i am wondering if there are apps for this. spec. on iphone.
where i can isolate the instrumentals, and include lyrics that light up as they are sung.
(not just a screen of words where you have to already know when to sing.)
does anyone have recommendations?
preferably something that is generally straightforward and simple? or am i aiming too high here ahaha
Quick disclaimer, I have only done a bit of research into this so far. I am looking for a fantastic home karaoke setup with a large (and preferably updating) song selection. Preferably one I can utilize on a computer but I'm open to AIO if there is a compelling reason.
I already have fantastic speakers with kef ls50w's so I'd prefer a setup that can utilize those. If possible, setups at varying price points would be appreciated.
I've seen people recommend shure for mics, and a mixer (recommendations here would be nice).
I've seen some people suggest karafun, but the music list seems quite limited for my preference in music. I'd like a service that has anime music (one that shows english romanization) in addition to a solid metal list.
Recommendations on equipment and services would be very much appreciated!
I have Karafun Pro, and it seems like better features are available in the Karafun non-pro app, like adding songs from my library, etc. Anyone else noticed this?
Hello, my karaoke friends,
I know how strong the karaoke culture is within this community, and I’m new to the karaoke scene. I want to buy a machine for my wife and me.
Currently, I have a Denon receiver connected to my TV, and I use Apple TV to access YouTube. However, I’d prefer an independent karaoke unit that can connect to my Denon receiver. I’m looking for something that supports two microphones. I don’t mind using YouTube for songs, but I’m also open to a system with built-in songs.
Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
Hi all,
I need your help with picking an Ikarao device. Break x1 is out of my budget, so I'm looking at x2 instead but I've seen bad things about the microphone latency/delay and it's a big problem for me. Is X2 still having this problem?
If yes, I may have to go with Shell series instead. Can you help me to pick between S1 and S2 please?
I will most likely use this in my car or a small party around 5-8 people. And I may connect it with a TV/monitor, and speaker at the same time when bring it to the party.
I will ended up use Youtube for songs.
Thanks in advanced.
I want a some help creating a karaoke video. I'm not great at making backgrounds and coloring lyrics, but I have a clear vision. I want to use Christmas music by the content creator Jschlatt. The background of the video should be orange, like his album cover, with the picture of him from the album cover in the bottom left corner. I’d like the snowflakes all around the top and sides, but not too many. The lyrics should be in white text, and I want the text to turn yellow when it's time to sing. If anyone can help me out with this, I'd really appreciate it. It doesn't matter which song from Jschlatt's album you use; it's mainly about how the video looks.
Title says it all
My machine is The Singing Machine SMG-301. It used to work fine, but recently the door has stopped closing properly, like it's getting caught on something. If I do push it in, then it displays the error "door" on the screen as shown. Is there any way to fix this without replacing the tray?
So have been researching for my family gift of a karaoke machine or setup. Ideally I would like to use Spotify (maybe YouTube music too) through our Apple TV 4K hooked up to our living room television. I've been looking at the DIGITNOW system.
I'm fine with all the hookups and I think that system will work with my current equipment. Except the sound I'm a bit concerned with. I have a Bose TV and a Bose Solo soundbar available (other than the television speakers), each have HDMI ARC available.
Would those work? Or do I need to get a dedicated amp + passive speakers? Or can I also use some other high end powered speakers? I prefer to keep to minimal and we don't need room shaking sound. Just enough to fill your average living room.
Thanks for any help!
Hello lovely people,
I am thinking that some kind of karaoke set-up for home would be a great Christmas gift for my teen, as she loves to sing. She grew up in Korea so I think it's in her blood somehow, ha. First I was just thinking we could cast Spotify to our TV and buy a good microphone to use with it, but I notice not all the songs she would want to sing have karaoke tracks. (I heard there is a setting in Spotify to turn your songs into karaoke mode, but we're in the Netherlands now and I don't see that little microphone icon anywhere--can anyone confirm it's not available here?)
If Spotify won't work, I'm wondering what other affordable options there are for home set-ups that have a wide variety of Western pop and rock, as well as K-pop and J-pop.
Thank you!
I've been using KaraFun version 2.6.2 (KaraFun Player 2), and I have been able to add custom songs, but I'm not sure how to change their transcripts. If it is possible, does anyone know how to do this?
Hi all!
I'm hoping for a lively discussion between karaoke lovers that do their Karaoke in private rooms... what are the the best and worst features of it? Do you only do private, or both? and what can be done to make the private rooms a better experience?
Thanks all!
I do home theater setup and some clients are asking about karaoke machines.
I don't want to give them wrong information, but as far as I understand all you need for karaoke is audio made for singing along and a mic with speaker.
Is the dedicated karaoke machine that can be purchased (ex: SmartOke) doing anything different?
I have never done karaoke and don't even really listen to music, so please understand that I know nothing.
