    Ultrastar

Does anyone have an Ultrastar list with finished songs that they can make available to me? I've been at it for a few hours and have only added 26 songs so far. Thanks in advance

    Hapless Gen X needs advice

What does a backwards gen xer need to buy to do karaoke at home these days? We don't have a tv anymore but we have mastered streaming shows on our phone despite our VHS tape collection still occupying a treasured place on the shelf. We are literally hiding from the world and still drink from the garden hose after riding bikes all day. But I want to have the right tech to host awesome karaoke parties at home. Is there anybody out there who can please explain to me what I need to make my living room into an awesome karaoke bar? I can use amazon and know how to Bluetooth. Mansplaining welcome here, no judgement!

Can I use my audio interface instead of a mixer?

I have a Focusrite Scarlett 8i6 I use for recording instruments and online guitar lessons. I also have one SM57 and one SM58 copy and a PA 2 way speaker.

Is a mixer really necessary in this scenario? Since the interface has the preamps, gain knob and software mixing abilities.

The interface is connected to a MacBook, IIRC, I can just open GarageBand, put some reverb on channel 1 and 2 and play the tracks from the browser.

Will this work or am I missing something?

Is Charlemagne by Blossoms a popular karaoke song?

I happened to be on the Sunfly website and noticed that Charlemagne by Blossoms is one of the most popular karaoke songs. Is this a mistake? I can understand the rest of the list being there but why is this such a popular karaoke song?

    Please help TJ TKR-370HK

Hello. We have the machine connected and cannot for the life of us figure out how to make it play music after selecting the number. We press the number then play then nothing plays. We figured maybe we need to connect to WiFi? It doesn't show on our WiFi network and when we downloaded the app (iOS) it asks for the code and there are no codes in there for us to pair. Just the QR code. We came get this thing to play a song or connect.

    Four channel wireless mic options

I'm looking to get four wireless microphones. Innopow doesn't ship to Canada, so I can't get the recommended brand. I'm looking at the Tonor and I was wondering if anyone has thoughts on getting the more expensive system with a single receiver, or getting two of the cheaper systems with the rechargeable receiver. There's also the JBL mics, fifine and the cheaper TONOR mics

For more context: This would be for home use. I have a usb audio interface (UMC404HD). The current plan is to connect the mics to the usb audio interface, mix it on the computer (comp, EQ, effects, etc) and bluetooth to my TV for both audio and video. I might upgrade the speakers to a portable PA depending on audio quality.

Does a karaoke site exist where they are shortened versions of songs?

I find that at parties at least where it’s a lot of people who are either shy or just don’t karaoke very much, they start to be over the excitement of karaoke about half way through the song. And then they are just kinda wanting the song to be over because max effort was spent at the beginning and in the first chorus. And unless you get someone who is really good or at least very enthusiastic, they don’t usually sustain the energy the whole song.

    Long Instrumentals

As a newbie (looking to go out tonight) I figured it would be a good idea to put together a rough list of things I can sing confidently and realised that the majority of the songs I listen to have long instrumental sections. Is this an OK thing or is it generally more common to leave songs like that out of rotation and try stick to lyric only songs?

    Same song twice

I was at a karaoke bar on Friday and tried to put in a song right as I arrived, because it was pretty crowded. The KJ gave the ticket back to me and said I couldn't sing that song because someone sang it earlier. I have never heard that before, but is it standard practice? All good either way - I'm just curious about proper etiquette going forward.

Machine recommendation for my 90 yo dad?

Hello Karaoke buffs. My dad just asked for a karaoke machine for his birthday. I don’t believe he has ever sung karaoke before but likes to sing. I’m looking for a simple all-in-one machine or maybe even an app for a tablet. He really wants the music, lyrics and for the pitch to be tunable. He also likes Nat King Cole songs. I want it to be super easy for him to use whenever he is in the mood. He may not even need a microphone. Any suggestions?

Need help on what vocal processor to get

    Hi,

Im not sure if im in the right place but ill take my chances and hope you guys can help me.

I am actually looking for a good vocal processor that has Reverb & Echo that would upgrade our karaoke system to sound better. I am using my 5.2.4 home theater system to play the backtrack songs (Marantz+B&W805+dual Subs). For the vocal part, I hook up our mic to a Presonus 16.0.2 live mixer then to a QSC K10 powered speakers. Sadly, our mixer just died so I am looking to get a new one. Im thinking though if i should get a separate vocal processor to make the sound better. I looked into TC Helicon perform V and Boss VE-22 but im not sure if this is the right item for me as I dont want to use any other effects aside from reverb/echo maybe some delay and perhaps compression. What i'm after though is to have the vocals sound as close to studio quality as i can get but i want it to be a set and forget thing. I dont want to keep tinker with the buttons while singing.

    In this regard, should i get a) a mixer w/ built-in effects b) pedal effects + mixer c) rackmount effects + mixer?

    .

Note, i do not plan to hook up any guitar/keyboard and at most there will only be 2 mics (but usually 1). People here loves to sing so i really want to setup a good system.

    Will this setup work?

Hello! I want to give my kids a karaoke setup for Christmas this year and have been researching for a bit. My idea is to use a Chromebook with some external speakers, then connect the Chromebook to a mixer and the mixer to two microphones. A few questions 🙈

    • Will this setup work?
    • I want them to be able to record their voices of cause, is this just software on the Chromebook?
    • I want them to be able to change their voices, like monster voices, is this just software on the Chromebook?
    • Will the Yamaha MG06 mixer be a good choice?

I am a total newbie here, so appreciate tge help.

    Home projector system recommendations.

I have a movie room that has a large projector screen and a projector connected via hdmi to a receiver. My wife loves going to karaoke rooms and I was wanting to setup something similar. I'm not familiar with karaoke systems, but I'm thinking of hooking up a laptop via hdmi to the receiver and playing the video/music through the rooms surround sound. Then I was thinking of getting a small powered pa speaker with a mic to sing into. Is there a more inclusive system? or would this be the best way to do it? Not looking for anything fancy, just something for my wife to enjoy.

    Karaoke wallpaper/background images or videos

Anyone know where to find some good images or short videos suitable for karaoke background images/wallpapers to use with my software to display behind the lyrics as a background?

Things like microphones, instruments, scenes of bars, clips of bands, etc? I've just found the odd single images in places, looking to see if there's a downloadable pack somewhere suitable for this.

Proper mixer, or simple wireless mic's for use with TV and Soundbar?

    Hey all,

New poster here, looking to take our karaoke nights up a notch from just singing along.

At the moment I have a TV with a 4k Firestick plugged in, which will run YouTube for the karaoke videos. The TV itself outputs the sound to a Yamaha YAS-209 Soundbar/Sub via the HDMI (ARC) port. The soundbar also has an optical port and another HDMI port.

What I am wondering is how best to get the sound from 2x mics to ALSO come out of the soundbar at the same time as the YouTube sound? I see devices like this and wonder 1) will they work and 2) if so, how would I wire them up?

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0D8XT1QXP?psc=1&ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_ct_0K567X2E4TAH789CA56C

Or if that device is not suitable, can you recommend anything else. Do I need a proper mixer? Or of course, if what I am seeking is technically impossible, please let me know that too!

Thanks in advance for your help and advice!

    Microphone FX on MacBook

Hi, my friend asked me to help her with a simple setup.
I have my setup working fine, but all she need is YouTube + Mic with effects + Speaker.

She has a MacBook that she's going to use to stream YouTube, and I have microphones, speaker, and mixer without effects.
To add some reverb, would the easiest way be to keep Garageband open without recording?

Would the sound come out of both YouTube and the microphones?

Tem alguma outra forma de ouvir os microfones pelo Mac
