I was fully gutted when J5 broke up but proper happy when they re-formed AND I was lucky enough to see them live in Manchester UK. Did not disappoint one bit. Especially when they played 'Red Hot' as their last track.
p.s. I also saw DJ Cut Chemist live at a local club when they were on hiatus. I was drunk as hell as bumped into him on the staircase, I asked him why J5 broke up, he just walked off and didn't say a word.
Is anyone active on here? Would love to talk about J5?
I found that elusive video on Nico Video!
So glad somebody got it before being taken off of YouTube!
Try listening to a few songs and its all you’ll hear
Does anyone know why they changed Concrete Schoolyard from the lyrics that were on the EP to the lyrics on the LP?
Specifically the part in the first verse where they changed "from shore to shore/and from sun to sun/we use the pen not the gun/cause we're number one" to "well I'd like to know if/you've got the notion/cause we're number one"
The first time I heard it, it was really jarring and it still sounds like it doesn't fit in the song.
I heard the theme from The Boondocks by Asheru, and it sounds like the same style. Is there a proper name for this kind of rap?
Years ago Jurassic 5 released a video that I loved for The Way We Do It that featured them prepping for a Red Rocks Amphitheater show that was buried in snow. I really enjoyed this video and it seems it's been removed from all traces of the net that I can find.
First, does anyone know why? Second, does anyone know where I can watch it?
Thanks
Anyone got a video of their Glastonbury (UK) set from 2014? I can only find a couple of tracks on youtube - i remember watching it on TV and i swear the sun set just as they played Concrete Schoolyard, was pretty nice.
