Intermediate programming

Hey I’m wanting to take ip next semester and have heard it’s the hardest course of all CS requirements, I was wondering if there’s any tips to survive this class or just any profs to avoid? I believe only Simari and Darvish will be teaching next semester, any recommendations on whose section to take?

Certification of Finances (COF) Filling Query

Hey, I was wondering in the section of "Personal or family savings bank name" for the COF form available in the application portal, what are we supposed to fill? As in the name of the person who owns the bank account or what? Thanks in advance!

Anyone got Spring admit for Masters in material science and engineering?

I submitted my application in the last week of August. Still no replies from them. I had emailed but their reply to me was to wait and they are in the process. I don't know whether to wait or proceed with what i have right now as its already November.

Bloomberg Fellow In-Person

Hello. I am applying to the Bloomberg Fellowship for the 2025-26 academic year. I would prefer to do the in-person, 11-month track. I realize I would have to take a leave of absence from my job, and although the fellowship would cover all school expenses (tuition, waivers, etc.) it would not cover cost of living. Are there other scholarships I could apply for in tandem with this opportunity, or do I need to take out a loan to be able to get this "free" masters?

JHU Materials Science and Engineering Online Masters Degree

Has anyone ever taken or know anyone who has taken these online degree programs? Im interested in pursuing the MSE Masters degree but I want to know if its useful and not just a money grab.

My employer is only willing to pay $5500 per year so Im not getting much tuition help, but the flexibility of the program would be great for me. I also didnt see many universities offering an online MSE degree. Would this degree move my career forward?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

JHU Carey at 60% Scholarship for MS in business Analytics and AI

The college where I am pursuing my bachelor's has set up an MoU with JHU, giving us opportunity to apply for the MS there at reduced fees. Is it worth it? Looking at the reddit threads it seems JHU Carey is popular for MBA programs.

quick question: does jhu ONLY take superscore? (class of 2030)

i know their website says that they take the highest score from each section, but will that extend into next year's application cycle?

roommates!!

Hi! I'm a master's student (female) starting at the Homewood campus this spring semester. I'm looking for potential roommates (preferably female) since I don't know many people there yet. I think it would be both more economical and fun to share a place. If you're interested, feel free to reach out!

Best Route to JHH from Bloom St?

I’ll be staying at madison avenue on bloom st and wanted to know the safest way to get to John’s Hopkins Hospital. I’m a female traveling alone and it’s my first time in the US and from what i’ve heard i’m not staying at the safest place 🥹. What would be the fastest and safest route for me to take and can i integrate the JHMI shuttles anywhere in my route?

MAPHB Acceptance Rate

Hello everyone.

What is the acceptance rate of Johns Hopkins for the Masters of Arts in Public Health Biology? Also, How was your experience in this program?

I did read on the internet that the acceptance rate is above 50%, unless my sources are wrong.

Also, If I have taken Biochemistry outside of JHU before getting into the program, would the course be covered or would I need to retake it there?

British student going to JHU

Hello everyone,

I am British and have been accepted to study Economics at JHU.

What is it like studying here?

How supportive are lecturers and staff?

Are there big numbers of British students?

34 ACT - am i cooked?

I applied ED 1 for Hopkins and I submitted a 34 ACT (34/34/35/34). With the October test, I couldn’t make it to a 35. A 34 is the 25th percentile for Hopkins so will it be beneficial to my application? My GPA is not the best, as I have like a 3.8 UW. But it’s a strong upward trend from freshman year and I did take high rigor compared to those in my school. Let me know your thoughts - thanks!

Is any underclassman meeting with Leon Thomas for their advising meeting this week and willing to trade for Nov 11 at 9:30am?

I totally missed the memo about needing to meet with our academic advisor, and I won't be able to meet with him until after registration. If anyone is able and willing to trade slots, I would heavily appreciate it. I'm also willing to pay 20 dollars LOL
