What is Jamestown
Jamestown, NY is a town in Western New York, 90 miles south of Buffalo, on beautiful Chautauqua Lake. Once the furniture capital of the world, it and the surrounding area continues to be a beautiful town.

Hi. I'm from just across the PA border in Erie. I'm slightly familiar with the Jamestown area and have been thinking of moving there. I'm a cabinetmaker/laborer by trade. Any demand for that sort of skill set? And how affordable is housing? Any tips for a potential newcomer?
How many people in this subreddit are from here and how many aren't? Just curious.
It appears as though a big part of Trumps plan to round up migrants involves red state military's being sent into blue states to round up migrants if blue states dont 'co-operate'.
Using the example of Ukraine New York's true patriots should be building drones for the coming invasion by Trumps shock troops.
There’s a possibility I may be buying a car in Jamestown, and wanted to know if any of you had any recommendations. Thanks!
I am coming from Syracuse and will be staying one night. I bought a membership to the National Comedy Center. Why? I loved their museum and their mission.
Anyways, I am coming down for a Friday night and leaving Saturday. I am staying downtown (La Quinta). I am looking for something to do after dinner...and not hang in a hotel room. I travel solo. I did buy tickets to a show at Reg Lenna, but I am looking for something to do after that.
Is it possible to take a bus from Jamestown to Buffalo?
Any experience in town with this service? I have Spectrum right now and haven't had a problem with them in two years (I work from home and eat a lot of data), but the Kinetic guys hustle hard and on paper their service is cheaper and faster (1 Gb up and down). The Customer Service reviews (not local) have been terrible, however, and I am not too keen to switch based on this alone (losing internet for a day means i don't work for a day). Thanks in advance for any insights.

I moved to Jamestown recently and iv been getting into warhammer. Im trying to find people to play with in the area and learn how to play. I know facebook is probably a better resource bit I dont have one and have no desire to make one.
I am passing through the area soon and love a good diner that has been around for years. Any suggestions for the Jamestown area?
Anyone use mint mobile? Wondering how the service actually is. Thank you in advance.
Was there really a swat bust today? I can’t find the news article
Hey guys—
My family and I are staying at Chautauqua Lake near Ashville/Mayville area. A collie-ish dog showed up on our porch this morning with an invisible fence collar but nothing else and no tags. We’re hoping to try to find the owner, but none of the nearby neighbors recognize the dog. Hoping we can get the word out online to some locals since we’re not from the area. Comment if you know of a dog like this or hear from anyone online that is looking for a similar type of dog in this area. TIA.
In the area and curious how far I need to go to find a hardcore/punk hub for DIY music? Cleveland? Anything more local? If so, how do I learn about shows?

So my family and I are looking into moving to Jamestown from out of state. What are some positive things about the town and living there? How's the community? School systems? Jobs?
Don’t move here
Evening All,
I’m visiting my In-laws here in the Chautauqua Lake area, currently repairing their tankless water heater which suffered freeze damage.
I was able to solder/repair the primary heat exchanger, but the secondary/condensing heat exchanger is aluminum and I don’t have the tooling/solder/flux on hand to finish the job.
It looks like most welding suppliers are closed on Sunday, so I thought I would reach out to the community to see if there was anyone available tomorrow that could make the repair. 1/2” crack on the header of a small aluminum heat exchanger is the scope of the job.
Thanks much.

I'm moving to Jamestown with my partner for his new job next month. I've looked at apartment listings online, but I thought I'd call around to see what might become available. The lack of positive reviews I've seen online have made me very hesitant.
Would anyone be able to recommend some places or provide a good contact? I'd appreciate it very much.
