Good morning, for the 3rd time this year the plume pod wightfibre has supplied has started disconnecting multiple times a day requiring me to unplug for 10 seconds to get a connection again. Now I'm sure like the previous 2 times this happend wightfirbe will come and replace it again but don't want to be in the same boat in a few months again so looking at changing to a 3rd party router. What have you guys found works well. Been out the network game for over a decade so not so clued up as I used to be.
Any one know where I can get padron peppers loose on the island?
I’m currently applying for a new job, which is likely looking to be mainland based. With the sort of jobs I’m looking for I am likely to have to drive as locations can often be quite rural. This means I’ll have to pay for a car crossing on the ferries. Curious if anyone is in a position where they cross the Solent via car frequently, and if so if you have any advice on how to make the prices as cost efficient as possible. Thanks

Anyone know whereabouts these Eagles are? My friend is visiting and he wants to see them.
Morning Islanders. So as I posted before looking for potential apartments, I gained a few resources and had a rather fruitful and interesting search. So now I'm looking for advice again. OR more accuratly, I'm looking for people to really sell me on the idea of becoming a resident of your beautiful slice of the world. For context, I'm a 28-year-old single male. I'm a musician, and I'm blind. I love animals, dogs being at the top of that list, but birds also being close to the top. I'm fond of walking, but I absolutely love boats and anything to do with boating. Sailing, rowing, motor boating, being around boats, working with boats... you get the idea. My life pretty much revolves around music though. I've been a performer for over 10 years, having performed all over Europe and the UK, some in America as well. I've always been a drifter, but I favor more layed back, easy going areas with a gentle pace of life and not much stress. So now I'm turning the question to you people. Give me the pros of living on the island? What are the best resources I can take advantage of on the island? How easy is it to get into the live music scene around the place? Are there many people of my age range living on the island? What's the best place to find these people? What sorts of jobs are in high demand? Also, the big question. What sort of weather should I expect to look forward to in the spring and summer?
I went to the Day of Christmas but didn't stay for the switch on. Also, I can't be the only one who thought the Day of Christmas was a bit dull.
Hi! I stayed here over the weekend and appear to have lost my wallet. It's a small blue leather piece with a handful of cards and recipes inside
Edit: we spent a day in Newport and stayed in the Shanklin Hotel
I’ve been with AA for 10 years but they’re trying to put my renewal up by £100 this year.
How is RAC on the island? Do they have local vans like AA do?
Hey I have a trip next week to the Isle of Wight and I need to know the locations of any halal or kosher butchers in the island. It would be very much appreciated. I just found out they’re not common and I’m kind of stressing out please help. ❤️
Hello there! I’m visiting from the states (on a year long odyssey in Europe) and I’m staying in Ventnor for the month.
Looking for recs nearby:
I enjoy journaling/writing, photography, music, cute local spots to observe and enjoy
Thanks in advance!
Off to see some friends on a getaway in a few weeks, and will conveniently be finishing my diet too. Have craved seaside fish and chips for a while and wondered who does them best there?
Anyone know of anywhere on the Island where you can buy Parmesan rind?
Moving over next week and looking for recommendations… Coffee Staff Atmosphere? (not Starbucks please)
Hello everyone, since I am starting a new position as a dentist on the island my girlfriend and I are moving to Ryde at the beginning of January. Therefore, we are looking for a place to rent and I would be glad if you could offer us а place or give us advice and guidance. We are looking for a one-bedroom flat, furnished if possible, our approximate budget is max 800£. Thanks in advance!
I'm soon thinking about moving to the island, and I'm on quite a low budget. Due to my disability, I'm thinking Ryde would be best, because of the decent transport links and access to local stores and what not. Can anybody recommend any decent letting agencies who might have some flats to rent for a reasonable monthly rent cost?
Flew over the South coast last night and thought the Island would make a great photo, pleased with how clear it came out, as aircraft windows are notoriously bad to shoot through
does anyone know of any ceramic workshops/classes/tutoring on the island? suitable for a beginner
I went to the Isle of Wight once or twice while growing up, both times to the same place. I think it was in or near Shanklin, but I might be misremembering.
The place was a large building, which I think was sandstone in colour, and worked a bit like a hotel in that there were family rooms (and dormitories, or similar, the second time I went). Meals were taken in the dining room - but I don't remember there being a choice of what we ate, like there would have been at a hotel. I suppose it was a bit like a holiday camp in a non-holiday camp environment, because there were planned activities and I think excursions.
The thing is, I'd love to know what the place was called - and if it still exists. Can't ask my parents as my ma is dead and my dad has dementia. Does the place ring a bell with anyone?
Are there any specific shops which sell Pokemon singles in the IOW? Or even just nerdy shops which are worth a visit.
Found in my local charity shop in mid Wales.
