Hello all! I’m currently working on filling up my Japanese inspired arm and was having some trouble thinking of subjects that could possibly fill this space. I originally thinking maybe a foo dog, kirin, or snake ?
Any ideas would help ! Thank you 😊
Japanese Traditional Artist: Mon 🇵🇭 1 year and 6 months
Unfortunately i did not plan for a bodysuit originally. My arm i have buddha a snake a severed head and a samurai. My leg i have 5 koi and a kapala. My other leg a dragon and tiger. Is there anything i can continue with to make a motif? Also have lotus and maples in there too. As well as some fire with the dragon..
Is it just me, or do some artists have more stippled or dot-like blacks and grays (when looking closely) and others have smooth opaque grays? Sometimes I think it's related to the quality of photos they take and upload, but perhaps there really is a difference. It seems both can be incredible, but just curious to know more about the two ways of going about shading.
An example would be Shun versus Luke at Seventh Son Tattoo - I like both artists, but Luke’s colors are more densely shaded IMO (take that observation with a grain of salt because I’m not an artist…).
We're going to grow old together 🥺
I've just bought tickets to Osaka next March, and I'm planning to get tattooed and that trip, whether its pre-booked or walk in. Do you guys have any suggestions on artists in Osaka, Kyoto, or Fukuoka. Probably Osaka would be the most convenient.
Makoto Horimatsu is located in Fukuoka, but not really sure how long I'll be staying there.
Thanks in advance!
hey there, got involved studying Daikokuten, one of the Sichifukujin. Id love to hear any feedback as possible since Im not sure if its a real motive for irezumi because i've not see him as a backpiece very often but here It is. Im a bit lost about decoration motives on clothes too, hopefully you guys know more about It. Thanks in advance

Hello! I am wondering if anyone here works with hand-ground Sumi ink for their tattooing? Is there such a thing as tattoo grade Sumi ink, or are the sticks purchased from a reputable art store/online source going to be the same? What about colored ink sticks?
I am looking for references featuring just thunder (kaminari) and background tattooed on arms. I often come across drawings or concepts, but actual photos are super rare. The only one I know of that comes close to what I’m looking for is this old, badass man.
