Any life still in these bones? Anyone out there?
With local elections coming up we'll start to see leaflets and canvassers at our doors.
What are your priorities going to be when choosing candidates this time around? Mine personally are:
Increasing opportunities for kerbside recycling. IMO it's disappointing that we can't currently recycle glass at the kerbside, for example.
Increased road sweeping in the town. It's pretty clear that some places see a sweeper way more regularly than others. I'd like to see sweepers in residential areas more often, rather than what I perceive to be a focus on "vanity" areas.
Continued high-quality maintenance of parks. Ipswich has some lovely parks that are well maintained, and will have been vital as a retreat during COVID. I'd like to see a commitment to keep that up.
A commitment to work more closely with the county council. Their differing political ideologies aside, I've seen sensible, well-costed projects go in the bin simply because the red team won't work with the blue, and vice-versa. This behaviour has to stop as it's detrimental to citizens.
That's to list just a few. What are yours?
Personally I don't like him, I think his speeches and article are pretty divisive and a little racially insensitive. What's your opinion? I'd like to get a little healthy debate going!
I'm out in the sticks, near Hintlesham. I hope I'm still allowed in!
